"Fate doesn't care about your plans!"

"Kaisi lag rahi hu main baba?"

Rudhita questioned her father who came to see her princess in her wedding attire.

He walked into the room in a daze. Her question took him to the past when his daughter was just seven years old. Bondita was in court why anirudh was at home taking care of her daughter. He was sitting in the study when he heard anklet sounds coming from the staircase which was attached to his room. He looked at the way and found their daughter struggling in a saree. Slowly she came down and stood in front of him.
She asked him the same question how was she looking.

If anybody would have seen her in that attire he must have laughed aloud but anirudh was astonished seeing her daughter's failed attempt to wear her mother's banarasi saree along with her heavy jewellery and makeup. The lipstick was smudged on her lips along with the kohl. Necklaces for hanging loosely on her neck. The saree was not properly pleated at all making her look extremely funny.

He cupped her face and she asked him whether she is looking like her mother or not. To which he smiled and replied she is looking even beautiful than her mother. But the words she said ahead made his eyes teary.
"Aap dekhna baba jab mai badi ho jaaungi na to main bhi apne sasural mein aise hi sadi pehnungi"

"Bataiye na baba lag rhi hu na bilkul maa jaisi?"

Her question made him came back from his dreamland.

He saw that her daughter was in a proper bengali saree. Decked up with the royal ancient jewellery of roy chaudhary's. Her hands were full of bangles and face was covered with makeup. Kajal was properly lined in her eyes and a hue shade of red was on her cheeks making her look like a bride.

He once again cupped her face and planted a kiss on her forehead saying

Ani: haan! Meri roshu toh apni maa se bhi shundor dikh rhi hai. Bilkul kisi pari ke jaise.

She hugged his father listening such phrases from his mouth while he was looking at bondita who was adoring the father daughter duo. She never got his father's love but her kaka sasurji always treated her like his own daughter. And after seeing her husband and daughter's relation she felt like she was reliving the moment which she couldn't live.

Anirudh who noticed her and understood her dilemea open his other arm for her and soon it became a family hug.
After sometime anirudh slowly broke the hug and cupped her face once again.

Ani: meri roshu na aaj sabse shundor lag rhi hai. Yaad hai bachpan mein bhi jab tumhari maa court chali jaati thi toh tum uski saree pehanke , saj dhaj ke poori haveli mein ghoomti thi. Bihari pe, kaka pe hum sab pe bondita wala raub chalati thi, choti maalkin banke aur aaj dekho sach mein tum itni badi ho gayi. Samay ka pata hi nhi chala bilkul bhi. Aaj bhi aisa hi lagta hai jaise abhi vo choti si roshu aayegi dodti hui aur mere pair ke peeche chup jayegi aur kahegi
"Baba mujhe doodh nhi peena"

Both father and daughter chuckled with teary eyes. Bondita wiped her tears and said faking anger.

Bon: aap bhi na pati babu, dekhiye rohsu ka makeup kharab ho jayega. Ab ye sab baate chodiye aur bataiye yahaan kyu aaye hain?

Ani: aree!! Main toh bhool hi gaya! Roshu idhar aao.

He made rudhita sit on the chair in front of the dressing table. He took out a box from his pocket in which there was a beautiful gold chain with a diamond.

Ani: kaisa laga ?

He asked showing roshu the chain.

Roshu: wowwwww baba!!!!!!! Ye kitnaa sundarrrrr haiiiii!!!!!
Apko kaise pata ki mujhe ye chahiye tha?

Ani: ek secret batau?

She nodded her head excitingly and he lowered his head and whispered in her ears: a father knows everything.

She giggled aloud listening the same line. Whenever she used to ask him that how he comes to know what she wants he used to do the same thing.

He slowly made her wear the chain and she was adorning the chain. He kissed her forehead from behind.

Ani: meri rohsu ko kisi ki nazar na lage.

Bon puffed her cheeks which rudhita noticed and gestured ani with a mischievous smile.
Ani went towards bondita and tried to burst her cheeks but she puffed her cheeks again and turned her face to the other side.

Ani: ohhhhooo! Meri bondita toh gussa ho gayi mujhse. Ab main ye chain kisko pehnau?

He said taking out another similar chain from the box.
Her puffed cheeks flattened seeing the chain.

Bon: wowwww!!!!!! Patiii babuuuuuuu!!!! Aap ye chain mere liye laaye ho!!!!! You are so so so cuteeeee!!!!! I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ani: bondita control.......Roshu yahi hai abhi.

He signalled towards rudhita who was laughing seeing her mother excited like a kid.

Bon: haan toh kya hua, ab toh roshu ki bhi shaadi ho rhi hai na ! Ab aap mere ho..

She kissed his cheek lovingly and anirudh made her wear the chain. Anirudh looked at her, she was looking so beautiful in a royal banarasi saree, with a rani haar and many more jewelries but the chain was shining in her neck which can attract anyone. Rudhita fake coughed breaking her parents'eyelock.

Bon: roshu!!!! Ab humare paas same same chain ho gayi hain!!!

She exclaimed happily

Rudhi: haan maa ise na hum bahut sambhaal ke rakhenge aur main toh ise daily pehnungi!!!

Ani: acha bhai ab chaloo, dulhe raaja intezaar kar rhe honge apni dulhan ka.......

He siad teasing rudhita who blushed in response.

They went near the staircase and rudhita held their hands tightly. Anirudh was on her left side and bondita was on right. The trio descended down while ksj who was standing admiring his granddaughter suddenly noticed a thing and murmured.

Ksj: hey dugga maa ! Humari bachiyon ko humesha khush rakhna......

As she was about to descend the last stair, ayushman her groom came to held her hand. She looked at anidita and they signalled her to give her hand to him. Anirudh slowly gave rudhita's hand in ayushman's hand while bondita left her other hand.

Ani: keh rha hu ayushman. Humesha khush rakhna meri beti ko. Agar ek aansu bhi iski aankh mein aaya na tohhhhhh...............

Ayushman: are are sasur ji.....Ap toh shaadi pe hi apne damad ko dhamki de rhe ho 🤧🤧 ab se rudhita meri hai aur iski har khushi ki zimmedari bhi meri hai. Iski aankh mein ek aansu nhi aane dunga.......

Anidita smiled at him and went towards the mandap.

All the guests were busy in wishing the couple and ofcourse youngsters were busy teasing them.

All were busy in their own work as there were still time left for mahurat . When anirudh's assistant came and whispered something in his ears.

Ani: tum jaante ho na aaj meri beti ki shaadi hai, nhi aa skta hu main!

Assistant: sir agar zaroori nhi hota toh main apko disturb nhi karta. Please it's urgent.

Bondita who saw him tensed went near him.

Bon; kya hua pati babu?

Ani; maine bataya tha na tumhe bondita ki voh jo dowry wala case tha uske liye viceroy ke signature chahiye the. Lekin abhi ram bata rha hai ki vice toy ne appointment kal ki vajah aaj ki kardi hai. Kal vo kolkata se bahaar london jaa rha hai......Toh usne kal ki appointment preponed kar di hai.....

Ram tum ek kaam karo, appointment cancel kardo. Kehdo ki main nhi aa skta aur ek apology letter bhej do.

Suddenly rudhita came from back as she was finding anidita.

Rudhi: nhi ram kaka koi apology letter mat bhejiye. Baba kaam jyaada der ka nhi hai aap 1 ghante tak aa jayenge. Vaise bhi abhi mahurat mein time hai, aap jaiye aur jaldi aa jaiye.

Ani: ye kya keh rhi ho roshu! I can't go, atleast not today. Ram do as i say, send an apology letter.

Rudhi: baba aap hi ne mujhe sikhaya tha na ki ek barrister ke liye uska client sabse pehle hota hai toh aap jaiye, baaki sab hain na aap samay se aa jayenge, ab jaldi jaiye.

Bon: haan pati babu, bas jaldi aana. Main intezaar kar rhi hu aapka.

He once again kissed rudhita's forehead and slowly murmured.

Ani: main yu gaya aur yu aaya........Agar der ho jaye toh rukna mat, main aa jaunga

Rudhi: i am waiting.......

Anirudh left for his work after bidding a goodbye to bondita and rudhita. When ksj got to know about this he was angry that how he can go but he couldn't say anything.

All the rituals were completed and it was time for kanyadaan now. Panditji was continuously asking for the father but anirudh was not there. He hasn't came yet.

Bon: kaha reh gaye aap pati babu................

She said to herself.

Ksj: som ek kaam karo tum aur vibhavari rudhita ka kanyadaan kardo. Anirudh ko na jaane kitna samay lage. Mahurat nikla jaa rha hai......

Bon: nhi kaka sasurji pati babu aate hi honge...

Rudhi: haan kaka dadu baba aa jayenge abhi. Main unke bina shaadi nhi karungi..........

Ksj: beta baat ko samjho mahurat nikal rha hai. Tumhare baba aa jayenge, intezaar mat karo....

Som and vibhavari did her kanyadaan while bondita was not feeling good. Where is her pati babu? He said that he will come in an hour but where's he? She decided that she will not talk with him.

It was the time for sindoor daan, anirudh was still not there. Rudhita's eyes were continuously looking at the door along with bondita.

Ayushman filled her partition with the vermilion while she was still looking at the door.
As he filled her maang she shrieked loudly and stood up.

"Babaaaaaaa" and looks towards the main door with shocking expression's.

Bondita too looks towards the door and after seeing it she was numb totally numb! She was expressionless.

Kaka too sees towards the door and by seeing the door he shouts in shock "Anirudh"

Somnath too gets a shock after seeing his beloved "Dada" in such condition

Ram cames there and with tears in eyes says "Anirudh sir  mar gye,mar gye hmare anirudh sir"

Binoy who was coming from different side after drinking water comes there and after seeing his son in such condition screams loudly
"Anirudhhhhhhhh"

Ayushman was standing there in a huge shock

Mens who were holding anirudh made him lay in the ground

Bondita runs madly towards anirudh and sits beside him and with tears in his eyes she says "Kahiye na pati babu ki apko kuch nhi hua uthiye na kahiye na ki aap bas acting kr rhe h keh dijiye na dekhiye na ye sab (pointing towards the men who said anirudh is dead) kya bol rhe h!!!!!

She screamed loudly while holding his hand

Kahiye naaa aap zinda h!!!!!!

She then cries with huge pain in her voice...... Keeping her head on his chest.

Bondita said while sobbing

Chup kyu h patibabu kahiye na kesa kr rhe h,aap aap to jante h naa jante h naa ki bondita apke bina kuch nhi h abhi abhi to rudhita ki shadi hui naa to aisi acting mat kijiye dekhiye apki beti ro rhi h....Patibabu uthiye naa please!!!!

She cried again while hiding her head in his chest

Although somnath himself was completely broken by seeing his dada in such condition but still he goes towards bondita and while consoling her he said-

Boudi dada ko kuch nhi hua dada apki pariksha le rhe h dekhna,dekhna kaise vo abhi uth kr kahenge "Patni devi ji main to sirf mazak kr rha tha" dekhna boudi aap abhi dada yahi yahi khade hokar apke sath rudhita ki bidai karenge aur aap to janti h na dada ko apki akho pr aansu pasand nhi to fir apko aise rota dekh kar kitne dukhi honge na vo....

Bondita then hugs somnath while sobbing and says - dada kaho na apke dada ko ki vo uthe!!!!!!!! Kaho naaa!!!!! And screams once again kahoooooo naaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Bondita while crying gets fainted

Rudhita along with ayushman runs towards bondita and rudhita holds bondita and rudhita takes bondita to a room and make her lay on bed

Here,
Kaka is standing expressionless just staring his beloved son in this condition his tears are unstoppable...

Same condition is with binoy

Ayushman comes and starts consoling them.

That night was sleepless for the rc's.

That night was indeed most painful one.
That night
A father lost his son
A brother lost his brother
A wife lost his husband
A daughter lost her father
A son lost his father in law

Next day,
In morning..

Soon it's the time for cremation.

The people of the village surrounds rc mansion
Almost everyone inside and outside rc mansion were crying

Kaka says - anirudh ka antim sanskar humari beti rudhita kregi (while crying)

Rudhita - kaka dadu........

Kaka- haan beta ek baar anirudh ne kaha tha

Flashback

Anirudh and kaka are sitting and kaka is reading a book related to god and anirudh is reading a hindi old novel.

Anirudh reads a line in it "Last rituals are always done by a men and a women can never do it".

Anirudh then says - kaka main jab marunga na to mera antim sanskar meri beti kregi

Kaka - kesi marne ki baate kr rha h beta!!!

Anirudh- kaka apko meri kasam mera antim sanskar aap meri beti se hi karvayenge

End of the flashback

Rudhita has tears eyes and says - main krungi dadu! And while sobbing says -krungi

She hugged him tightly while sobbing.

Kaka says- bondita nhi uthi abhi tak hme bahut chinta ho rhi h

Binoy- da maine doctor ko bulvakar checkup krva diya h unhone bola h ki bondita bahut gehre sadme ke karan behosh ho gyi h use jald hi hosh aa jayega

After some time people takes anirudh for cremation
Everyone in the rc mansion were crying so much.

As anirudh said rudhita fires his death body

Here

Bondita gains conscious and she asks to everyone where is anirudh while screaming and crying

Bondita runs towards the place where the rudhita is doing last rites

And after seeing the fire she screems - patiiiiii babuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!

While crying she kneels down

Rudhita comes near her and hugged her tightly embracing her in a consolable hug. Bondita was crying her heart out on her daughter's shoulder. Rudhita was consoling her mother while a tear fell from her eye.

The tear fell on the photograph where anirudh and bondita were kissing rudhita's head. It was her engagement's photograph.

Rudhita is hugging bondita who was sitting lifelessly staring at the frame. Her attire was totally changed. Hairs were messy, cream saree, no ornaments but a gold chain with a diamond was there, the same chain which anirudh gifted her the last, while in the photograph she was looking like a proper roy chaudhary bahu with all the ornaments.

It was the same day,same date,same time, same month, same feeling but different situations!

Rudhita - maa, main pani peekar aati hu, aap yahi rehna........
She made her sit with pillow's support and rushed to the kitchen. Where she cried her heart out, leaning on the counter.

Suddenly a voice comes from behind - rudhi ki ankh mein kaajal acha lagta hai, aansu nhi

Rudhita then looks at back and finds anirudh there she then took her steps towards him and uttered;

Baba.............

Suddenly anirudh disappeares...

"I am still waiting for you!"

This was the destiny.
A night which truly changed everyone's life. A wife lost her husband whereas a daughter got one losing her father .............
