Chapter 1
First day of school. Everyone was dreading it. The surplus of new students from Westerburg was sure to make the school MUCH more crowded. There was also the fact that the girl from Ewen High was coming, and to top it all off, three new students had been accepted at the school, these kids named Evan, Connor, and Zoe.
Jeremy had decided to take the bus that day, and he had already bumped into a few of the new kids. Two idiotic jocks wearing the Westerburg school colours, (real smart, guys,) a semi-cute brunette wearing a blue blazer and jeans, and an acne-covered girl carrying a Bible, of all things.
Suddenly, standing beside him was a girl in a black hoodie. Her hood was drawn, so he could barley see her face, but he could see she was pretty, with her smooth skin, thin pink lips and long curly hair. "Hey. This seat taken?" She asked. Her voice was also quite pretty, light and melodious, but somehow a little hoarse. But despite her face and voice, he could tell from her ripped black jeans and black backpack slung over her shoulder that she was not one to be nice with.
Afraid of being beat up, Jeremy slid over, and the girl sat beside him, right behind Bible girl and Christine. The ride felt long and awkward next to this antisocial chick, but all he could do was endure until he got to school.
Meanwhile...
Connor slammed the car door. "Are you coming?" He asked.
"Give me a minute! I'm looking for my purse!" Zoe stood up, smacking her head on the roof of the car."Ow."
Connor made his way to the other side of the street where their new stupid school was, waiting on the other side for Zoe, like he was told to. He saw the school bus pull out onto the other side of the road, right next to Zoe's car. The kids piled off the bus, running across the road.
Back on the bus, the girl with the hoodie had disappeared already, so Jeremy grabbed his bag and stood up, passing Bible girl, who was still sitting, packing her bag up. She looked to be having trouble with it, but he passed by without her noticing.
When Jeremy got off, he noticed they were on the wrong side of the road, direct across from the school, instead of in front of it. Then he saw why.
Three girls; three SUPER HOT girls were arguing with a teacher about their car, which was parked so that the bus had no where to go. The ringleader was a blond girl dressed in red, wearing a red scrunchie. A girl dressed in green leaned against the car, rolling her eyes, while a girl in yellow sat in the front seat, staring at the red girl and the teacher.
"Holy... They're hot." He said aloud.
"Jenna said that Westerburg called them the Heathers, since all of them have that name."
Jeremy turned around. "Michael! There you are!"
"I thought you were never coming, dude." He said, laughing.
While the two spoke, neither of them noticed the "Bible girl," Carrie White, had finally come off the bus. She stuck out like a sore thumb. Everyone else looked at least half normal, she was just too weird. Her long, conservative grey skirt and beige cardigan, mixed in with Zoe's bright purple shirt and Michael's sweater; she looked like a frog among swans.
Keeping her head down, Carrie walked into the street, as all eyes turned to face her.
"Found it!" Carrie turned around to see Zoe triumphantly holding up her purse. They locked eyes for a second, but Zoe saw it first. "Watch out!" She called. If all eyes weren't pointed at her before, they were now. Carrie, standing in the middle of the street, closed herself off and squeezed her eyes tight.
Suddenly, Carrie felt herself being shoved the the ground, followed by the sound or car breaks. Carrie opened her eyes. Mumbles came from all around as everyone stared. When Carrie turned around, Zoe was standing there.
"There was a car behind you." She said, helping her up.
"Did you... Push me out if the way?" Carrie asked.
"Yeah... I guess I did."
Carrie, eyes wide, nodded in thanks and ran off. Just after she was gone, the hot girl in red walked up to her, followed by the hot girl in green. (The hot girl in yellow had gone to repark the car.) "You just saved that girl." She said in shock.
"Well, yeah." Zoe shrugged.
"That was... Admittedly impressive. No one can move like that, not that I know. You're certainly interesting. Who are you?" Asked the red girl.
"Zoe. Murphy." She said.
"Hmmmm..." The red girl grabbed the bottom of Zoe's face and examined it closely.
"Uh, what are you doing?" She asked.
"Checking." She let go of her face. "I think we could go somewhere with this."
"Go somewhere?" Zoe asked. "What?"
"Zoe, honey. My name is Heather Chandler. This here is Heather Duke. Our friend Heather McNamara just went to park the car. I think that you would make quite an interesting addition to our team."
"Really, her?" Heather Duke crackled. "She looks as interesting as a sheet of sandpaper."
"Shut up, Heather."
"Sorry, Heather."
"So what do you say?" Chandler asked.
"Uh, okay! I'll go for it." She shrugged.
"That's what I like to hear. Now, let's get to work."
