Sacrifices

New heroes kept popping up out of no where... Heroes that made him more and more useless. Heroes that can out preform him in every way. Why would Shade keep him? Was there something that he was missing? He never knew until one night alone.

"So if that bastard Julius can get in and destroy me... Why am I even here anymore? All the effort I put in so I can defeat him... What has it been for?" The Mage sighed, burying his head into his hand, voice filled with rage. "It can't be... I refuse to believe it... NOTHING BUT LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES!" With every lies, his other hand, curled into a fist slammed against the wall. When the Mage looked up, he was somewhere familiar... Why he knew that Veronica's family semi worshipped Loptyr he had no idea.
"An altar....? Why am I here again?" He muttered.

"Heed me...." The Mage knew that voice anywhere.

"Loptyr... Go away. You've ruined my life enough as is. I don't need you right now." He replied.

"Heed me mage that thirsts for power.... Come to me... Accept me into your soul..."

"You can't be kidding me..."

"Rein!" Another voice called out as footsteps came into the room.

"Lukas..." Reinhardt said, dismissing the fact a dark God was just talking to him.

"You know this was the last place I'd think to find you here. You always told me that you were uncomfortable with being called a god, and the fact of that this was kind of the god that destroyed your life..."

"That is true. But then I never had everything I had raised up crashed down onto me like a pile of bricks. Plying for some god's mercy is what people do in hopeless situations is it not?" The Mage replied, turning to the fire in the room.

"I'm sorry if it brought up any painful memories. These new heroes do seem nice when they aren't destroying us on the battlefield."

"And I'm supposed to be content with that!? I wanted to prove that I was stronger than everyone else here! I wanted her back... I wanted to rule the the tier lists with you and Ishtar by my side! Even now the top of the blues is forever beyond my grasp..." Sadness seemed to run through his voice. "What am I supposed to be? Become Sharena and make buddy buddy with my worst enemies so they can destroy me even more than they originally could!? I would sooner die a death at Hector's axe!"

"The truth is... I don't want to be at the top of the tier list... I'd rather help the ones at the bottom become the best they can be." Lukas' voice trailed off.

"What...?" Everything in the mage's mind shattered.

"Just as long as I can do what I can for this order, I don't care if I'm as godly as Hector or as useless as Odin-" As the redhead said this, Reinhardt turned around, fear and betrayal reeked from his eyes like an onion.

"You too Lukas...?" The mage's voice cracked.

"You too Lukas what..?"

"Were you laughing along with them...? Hector, Titania and all the rest? Watching me toil AWAY WHEN YOU KNEW I'D NEVER BECOME A GOD!" Hostility and anger raised in his voice, replacing the fear.

"Rein... You've never been this angry before..." A tiny bit of fear could be seen in the redhead's eyes. He knew the Mage could get a little violent at times but nothing that a couple runs through the lower stratums, a hug and a good cry couldn't fix. But this was something the redhead never seen before.

"WAS EVERY THERAPY SESSION A PART OF THIS SHOW, EVERY SMILE AN ACT OF PITY!?" The Mage shouted, his voice becoming more and more enraged to the point where it made even some of the bigger hotheads look like Florina.

"Rein... It wasn't an act... I've never broken a promise to anyone, so why should I start breaking them...?"

"Loptyr... If you can here me... Grant me the power to destroy everyone! I don't care what you take from me, I don't care anymore!"

"Oh dear agh!" Lukas shouted as he got down to his knees in pain and agony. His limbs became an icy thunder and a vibrant shade of blue, with a similar aura covering the Mage.

"This is what true power feels like... No wonder Berkut and Julius did this..." Reinhardt said as he took a look at himself.

"Reinhardt! Lukas! Where the hell are you two!?" Berkut called out as he ran into the room. The prince had heard of the noises from around here and assumed the worst for his friends. He kept running at full speed, Lance in hand until he came across the sight he saw.

"The hell?" Then the prince noticed the mage's familiar scarf torn up. "Rein... I told you what I did was a horrible idea..." The prince said as he walked over to the Mage, raising his unarmed hand to the mage's face. "So why the hell did you make the same mistake I did..!?" As the prince's hand got closer to the mage's face, it was quickly swatted away by him.

"You don't know my pain." The Mage replied.

"I do. You literally sacrificed Lukas in the same way I sacrificed Rinea, and you may have repeated dialouge point for point. Anyways, I can't let you two go and destroy the tier lists. You'll just hurt a lot of innocent people."

"You can make it easy for me and drop dead right now so I can use your body for a vessel." The Mage replied coldly.

"You know, it's a beautiful day outside. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming. On days like these, monsters like you, SHOULD BE BURNING IN HELL!"

This was literally combining Undertale's genocide route and the one Berkut scene
