Experience Angkor Wat exploring my
A journey to Cambodia and visit Angkor Wat 2 places and Siem Reap - that's my plan 3 months ago . Inherently What I did not expect much but still decided to visit Siem Reap , a nice small town in Cambodia and is also the gateway to go to the exquisite temples of Angkor Wat . Although the country has a very difficult past , but fortunately there is a rich heritage . The death of brutal dictator Pol Pot in 1998 and the collapse of the Khmer Rouge regime death has closed but the history of Cambodia 's darkest days . The country now has a new campaign , and there are many curious tourists visiting the country and has mystical peace . I also was one of the visitors there.
When you learn about Cambodia , you will definitely come across a lot of information about death, black and tours of unexploded mines . These things really do exist and anyone but I personally know that most Cambodians just want to live a peaceful life after three decades of devastating civil war . This area has become a charming and charismatic , but I guarantee you will find here a lot of smiles .
Siem Reap has a variety of inns and hotels to suit your budget . Includes basic guesthouses price of 10-20 USD 30-50 USD midrange and high -end is about 70 USD - 200 USD or more . The best place to stay very close to me and Siem Reap attractions are Golden Mango Inn , Royal Crown Hotel and Casa Angkor Hotel .
If you travel alone and prefer an organized trip , I think travel company Exotissimo has provided appropriate services for individuals . This company has been established for a long time and is a leading travel agent in Asian countries . For more information of their tour , you can refer to the link: http://www.exotissimo.com/travel/tours/?SSAID=485412
If you want to go around it , tuk tuk is the best means you should choose . It is priced quite cheaply , allowing you to take pictures along the way and the driver is very interesting ! You can call Tuk Tuk in anywhere but make sure you negotiate the price before boarding , remember to bring sunglasses and a scarf as a dirt road .
Many hotels also have their own Tuk Tuk , I have used this service every day . My driver very friendly , I have to say that want to explore the daily life here and he brought me out tourist trails as other travelers . You can hire a tuk tuk driver for about $ 8 - $ 10 a day and pay at the end of day or end of the trip .
Obviously the main attraction in Siem Reap 's temples at Angkor Wat . The temple is truly amazing and is a place not to be missed when visiting Cambodia . You can buy tickets 1 day $ 20, 3 day $ 40 ticket or a 7 day ticket for $ 60 . I bought a 3 day ticket but only for a day and a half time at the temple . According to me one day is certainly not enough for enthusiasts temple architecture .
Temple visiting hours are 5:00 to 5:30 pm and the ticket booth from about 2 km from Angkor Wat , you remember to keep your ticket at all times and in good condition . You are allowed to come and go freely during opening hours . Many tourists began visiting hours early to catch the sunrise from the top of a temple and ended their long back when the temple to watch the sunset .
Besides Angkor Wat , there are many more sights in Siem Reap , here is my favorite :
Landmine Museum , admission is $ 1. This is a fascinating place and they also educate people about the dangers of unexploded bombs still exist in Cambodia . Most of the objects are guidelines orphans , victims of landmines time of peace , and the proceeds will be used to support and educate them .
The market , I recommend you to visit at least one of the local bazaar . The oldest and largest market in Siem Reap 's most Phsar Chas , everything was busy and lively . Angkor Night Market Night is also a great place to stroll in the evening to relax .
Village Well - this is my favorite ! Come visit the unique village located on the Tonle Sap Lake to witness scenes of life in the Cambodian village every day , this is one of those things you should not ignore . I was crossing the dirt road on the tuk tuk to the village , sitting on a small boat and relax in this peaceful space . During his trip , I received a warm welcome from the children and the teachers in the village . Bring gifts like pens , pencils , notebooks or donate rice to the villagers and their children .
My advice to you avoid problems :
- It's hard to say no to beggars here , especially children . Most charitable organizations worldwide have recommended that you do not give money to beggars as this will prevent them from finding a job to do , and the money that is not being used well . Everyone's opinion is different about this , I personally try to help people with disabilities and the organizations that have been recognized .
Beware of scammers ! Here they are mainly trying to trick you into believing that they are collecting money for temple maintenance and various charities . Always make sure that your money goes to the right where you want !
Also beware of the mosquitoes - they are many and everywhere ! Make sure you bring some cream to treat itching .
Souvenirs really cheap . In Siem Reap , you will only pay a few pounds for a T - shirt , towel Cambodia .
Do not go off the main trail , unexploded bombs remain a major problem in Cambodia although not common around the resort.
I recommend using tuk tuk when out and about at night , this is the best method and cheapest of travel .
Finally , I also completed my trip to Cambodia , there are many unforgettable memories , emotions , and I was particularly struck by the optimism and kindness of the people still recovering from years suffering and cruelty .
