It's the last song of the night, a song from when my parents were in high school. Everyone in the room is jumping up in down in a large clump, singing along to the song. When it ends, one of the teachers turn on the lights. "I had a great time with you tonight," Jessie says to John.

"I had fun with you too," he says back. They lean in to kiss. I peek my head in before they have the chance.

"Time to go home!" I say.

"Sis!" Yells Jessie.

"You'll thank me later." I give John a dirty look. "In fact, tomorrow morning! Let's go, Sis," I say dragging her by the arm.

We walk to the car leaving John in the cafeteria alone. "Hi, Ms. Merlin!" Nikki says.

"Hey, girls! Where's John?"

"Um... His mom is picking him up," I say.

"Oh, okay. So, how was the dance?"

"It was great! John and I really hit it off," Jessie says. I hear Lindsay and Nikki whispering. I shush them.

"Well, it's been a long day. Let's go home and get some rest."
