Second Chance at First Line ~ Part 3
I quickly pressed the speakerphone button and held the phone up to Stiles who continued to drive.
“Stiles, you know you can't call the dispatch line when I'm on duty.” The operator told him.
“I just need to know if you've gotten any odd calls.”
“Odd how?”
“Uh, like an odd person or...a dog-like individual roaming the streets.”
“Way to be subtle.” I mumbled but Stiles ignored me.
“I'm hanging up on you now.” The operator said, obviously fed up and my eyes widened.
“No!” I called the same time Stiles cried, “Wai - wai - wai - wai - wait!”
“Good bye!” Stiles groaned and I sighed as the hang up tone rang through car.

We were on our way to Stiles’ house when my phone started ringing. I fished it out of my bra and Stiles looked at me surprised. (A/N: comment if you do this too haha)
“What? I don’t have any pockets.” I told him and answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Oh thank god you picked up. My dad just hit Scott with his car and now he’s coming with Scott and I to lacrosse and-”
“Wait, wait, wait...what?” I interrupted Allison, utterly confused. “You dad...hit Scott-”
“With his car? Yes.”
“Ok and now-”
“My dad’s coming with me to lacrosse tonight. What am I going to do.”
“I’m sorry Allison, I don’t think theres much you can do apart from ask him not to go.” I told her.
“Can’t you do something?” She asked desperately.
“Like what? Walk up to your dad -whom I have never met or seen may I remind you- and say; 'Hi there Mr. Argent, I’m a friend of your daughter, who you are seriously cockblocking at the moment so it would be super duper terrific if you could just leave your daughter here with a hormonal teenage boy.'” I answered sarcastically and she and Stiles both laughed loudly.
“Ok, yeah you have a point. I’m just going to have to put up with it aren’t I?”
“Yup.”
“Fine!” She groaned loudly. “Anyway, I better get going. Come see me if you get the chance, yeah?”
“Of course, see ya, Allison.”
“Bye!” She called and we hung up.
“So?...” Stiles prompted.
“Scott went over to Allison’s, her dad hit him with his car, Scott was normal, her dad is now going to the lacrosse game.” He nodded with a chuckle and we continued driving to Stiles’ house. After a few minutes his continuous glances I rolled my eyes.
“What is it, Stiles?” I asked.
“Nothing...” He trailed off and I rose an eyebrow at him causing him to sigh as we finally pulled up to his house, we hopped out of the car and began walking up the driveway. “Are we going to talk about the almost kiss thing?” He asked and unlocked the door. I smiled up at him.
“We will. I promise.” I told him and pecked his cheek. He nodded again with red cheeks. We both walked into his house. I left him to get changed, promising that I would meet him later in the locker room and flashed into my own house, next to Lydia who was almost as easy to get to as Stiles. She didn’t seem shocked when I appeared next to her. I leaned on her vanity table and watched as she kept applying her make up.
“So...where were you?” She smirked.
“With Stiles.” I mumbled and I felt my cheeks gain a red tinge.
“Was it a date?”
“No.” The blush on my cheeks grew deeper.
“Hmm...You totally like him!” The smacked her lips together and put the lipgloss wand back into the bottle. She then threw her hair over her shoulder and span around to look at me.
“You can’t just assume things, Lydia.” I chided playfully.
“I can if you’re not denying it and you’re not.” She smiled smugly
“True. I’m not denying it.” She squealed.
“It’s about time you liked someone! Even if they are a massive nerd and you could do so much better-”
“Lydie...” I warned and she rolled her eyes.
“Is he going to be there tonight?”
“Of course he is, he’s on the team.”
“Oh yeah, I forgot because he doesn’t play.” I looked at her sternly, she huffed and exited the room. I looked after her curiously. “Are we going to pick out what you’re going to wear or not?”

(outfit on the side)
I walked into the change room, trying to find Stiles. I grinned and called over to him.
“Stiles!” His head snapped to me and his mouth dropped.
“H-hi Rori!” He stuttered and his gaze flickered up and down me.
“You like?” I asked and twirled around. He nodded eagerly.
“Yeah! You look amazing!” I kissed his cheek and grinned.
“Thanks, Stiles. Let’s go find Scott and we can talk after the lacrosse game, alright?” He nodded nervously and we walked through and eventually found Scott.
“You gonna try to convince me not to play?”
“We just hope you know what you're doing.” I told him and his head snapped from his shoelaces to me.
“Rori? How are you in here- Actually I don’t even want to know. And If I don't play, I lose first line and Allison.”
“Allison's not going anywhere.” I said and Stiles continued, “And it's one game that you really don't need to play.”
“I wanna play! I wanna be on the team. I wanna go out with Allison. I want a semi - freaking normal life.” He told us sadly and I looked at him unhappily. “Do you get that?”
“We get it.” Stiles sat down next to Scott, on the other side of the bend. He then turned to face him.
“Just try not to worry too much while you're out there, okay? Or get too angry.” I began.
“I got it.”
“Or stressed.” Stiles continued.
“Yeah, I got it.”
“Don't think about Allison being in the stands. Or that her father's trying to kill you. Or that Derek's trying to kill you. Or the girl he killed.” Scott looked at Stiles with a terrified expression in his face.
“Stiles...” I whispered and nudged his foot with my own but he didn’t notice, too caught up in his rant.
“Or that you might kill someone. If a hunter doesn't kill you first!” I kicked his foot and he yelped and immediately stopped talking. “- I'm sorry. I'll stop. Good luck.” I rolled my eyes and began walking backwards.
“See you boys out there!” I called and they both smiled nervously. “Good luck!” I then whirled around and made my way out of the change rooms and walked across the pitch. I bumped into someone in the Beacon Hills lacrosse uniform and wobbled backwards but I managed to steady myself.
“Sorry!” I chuckled and he shook his head.
“N-no. Don’t worry about it, it was my fault.” I waved him off.
“I wasn’t watching where I was going. I’m Aurora Carter.” I stuck my hand out and the boy fumbled with taking his glove off before he slid his hand into mine.
“Isaac Lahey.” He told me and I grinned.
“Lovely to meet you, Isaac. But I think the game’s about to start.” He whipped his head in the direction of the teams and saw them gathering together. He apologized again before running off. A few minutes later, the teams dispersed onto the field and the benched. I then sat in the spare spot next to Stiles, who was chewing on his glove nervously. I giggled and gently pulled the hand holding the glove away from his mouth. He looked over at me and I smiled, keeping his hand in mine, causing him to blush. The teams got into place and a head poked out from behind Stiles.
“Hey, kids.” Stiles jumped but kept his hand in mine. The Sheriff notcied this and smirked.
“Hey.” Stiles greeted but kept his eyes on the field.
“Hi, Mr. Stilinksi!” I greeted and waved with my other hand.
“Hi Aurora.” He grinned and then turned back to Stiles. “So, you think we'll see any action tonight?” He asked.
“Action?” Stiles then tilted his head slightly. “Maybe.”
The game started and they seemed to be throwing to anyone but Scott. Scott then seemed to notice the ball laying on the field and ran for it, with Jackson right on his tail. Before Scott could get to the ball, Jackson rammed him, causing Scott to fall to the floor and Jackson to pick it up and gain a goal. We noticed Scott looking behind us. We both turned at the same time to notice a sign that said, ‘we luv you Jackson.’ I cringed as we both looked back to Scott.
“Brutal.” Stiles mumbled and Scott looked away angry. “Oh, this is not gonna be good.” I nooded my head in agreement.
“You could say that again.” Stiles then looked at me and smirked.
“This is not gonna be-”
“Ok, ok.” I interrupted with a grin. “I walked into that one.” He chucked.
“You bet you did.” He told me and I rolled my eyes playfully and shoved his shoulder lightly. We watched as Jackson called a small meeting with a few of the team mates. I groaned.
“What?” Stiles asked. I pointed over to the group.
“They’re saying not to pass to Scott.” He sighed and we continued to watch as Scott jumped in the air and intercepted a ball. Our eyes widened, watching as Scott dodged every player before he flung it into the goal. Stiles and I jumped to our feet. I flung myself into his arm and he picked me up and spun me around before placing me back on the floor. We laughed and continued to cheer before we sat down. Stiles pulled his glove back up to his mouth and I chuckled and grabbed his hand again.
“McCall! Pass to McCall!” Coach called. We watched on as a member of the other team passed the ball directly to Scott who caught it and took off running again.
“Did the opposing team just deliberately pass us the ball?” Coach asked and I nodded.
“Yes, I believe so, coach.” Stiles replied.
“Interesting.” Scott once again flung the fall into the goal, only this time, it flew right through the net of the goalie’s lacrosse stick.
Scott started acting suspiciously and Stiles and I stood up from the bench. I watched Scott in alarm and Stiles started to mumble.
“No, no. Scott, no, no, no.” It was in the final few seconds. I gripped Stiles’ jersey anxiously. Two members of the opposite started to run at Scott as he drew back. He launched the ball. It was tense before the ball finally hit the back of the net. Stiles flung his hands up and I squealed, bouncing up and down, happy and thankful it was over.
“Yes! Ha! Oh, my God.” He said the last part relieved. I was slumped against Stiles on the benches when he glanced up at his dad.
“Dad, what's wrong?” He asked and Mr. Stilinski put a finger up, indicating for him to wait.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Stiles and I ran through the change rooms only for him to stop suddenly. I ran right into his back.
“Oh, god.” I heard him mumbled and I peaked my head over his shoulder.
“Aww..” I whispered. “It’s about time.”
“I gotta get back to my dad.” Allison told Scott before pecking him one last time on her way out she saw Stiles and I. She smiled at us confused.
“Hi Rori...Stiles.” She waved slightly
“Hi!” I grinned and waved over Stiles.
“I kissed her.” Scott grinned, over the moon.
“We saw.” Stiles replied.
“She kissed me.”
“Saw that too.” I piped in and Scott looked at me with a beaming smile.
“That's pretty good, huh?” Stiles asked, glancing down at me then quickly looking away and I blushed.
“I - I - I don't know how, but I controlled it. I pulled it back. Maybe I can do this. Maybe it's not that bad.”
“Yeah, heh. We'll talk later, then.” Stiles patted Scott shoulder before he moved to go.
“What?” Scott asked, gripping Stiles’ jersey and pulling him back.
“The, uh, medical examiner looked at the other half of the body we found.”
“And?...” Scott prompted.
“Well, I'll keep it simple. Medical examiner determines killer of girl to be animal, not human. Derek's human, not animal. Derek not killer. Derek let out of jail.”
“Are you kidding?”
“No, and here's a bigger kick in the ass. My dad I.D.'d the dead girl. Both halves. Her name was Laura Hale.”
“Hale?!” He asked.
“Derek's sister.” I told him gently.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“So uh- are we gonna talk about it?” He asked nervously and leant on the car. I nodded and smiled softly. “Ok then, I’ll get straight to the point. I think that you’re such a beautiful and amazing girl and anyone is the luckiest person on Earth if you even glance at them.” He rushed out and I blushed. “And I know we haven’t know each other for very long but I really, really like you and I was wondering if you would maybe, consider, being my girlfriend and going out with me?” His voice got high with each word and he scratched the back of this neck awkwardly. I grinned and stood up straight, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“Yes.”
“Wha-? Are you serious?” I nodded. “Ok, well, I am super needy. I will need constant reassurance that you still like me and-” He was cut off by my lips brushing over his. He immediately stopped talking and kissed me back. After a few second we pulled apart. “So...that’s a yes?” He double checked
“I already said yes, you dummy.” He beamed and pressed his lips to mine again.
