Chapter one Buisness Party

My crystal blue eyes scanned the faces of the men in the room, some were older one was about the same age as me. It was a tense meeting we were discussing the proposed design of a new robot called Sentinel. It was designed by a man names Bolivar Trask and its function was to hunt and capture or kill mutants, wonderful right it's not like we're human beings or anything. My wings twitched underneath my harness as if they were disgusted with the idea as well. My thoughts were interrupted when Tony Stark said, "Worthington, what's your take on all of this?" My tone was sure as I said, "This is an awful violation of basic human rights mutants have thoughts, feelings and dreams. They don't deserve this and he isn't even talking about just the bad ones he means everyone" Stark then says, "I agree with you and Osborn on this one which is surprising since I don't usually like to agree with anyone. We are very sorry Mr.Trask but we can't fund a project that endangers innocent people." The three of us eyed him carefully but he just smiled and said, "That's all right gentlemen there are always other investors why, the secretary of defense is just chomping at the bit to get this whole mutant thing taken care of. Good day gentlemen"

He packed up his plans and walked out to join back up with the rest of the party. That's right tonight is the annual Trask charity ball and instead of being confined to a desk and looking at plans that would kill people we should have been out there enjoying ourselves. Harry Osborn turned to me and said, "Warren how are you holding up?" My tone was sarcastic as I said, "Just great it's always nice to know someone is gunning for your whole community" Harry sighed and said, "This will affect a lot of hero's who were not born mutants but had their genetics mutated later on like, Felicia, Peter and I" Stark cleared his throat and said, "This is all well and good gentlemen but I'm going to go find Pepper and possibly slip off to some remote location and have some real fun, later" Harry shook his head and mumbled,"No respect for ethical code whatsoever" He then turned to me and said, "It will be alright Warren. No one would be stupid enough to fund something that would result in a killing spree. Well have a wonderful night I'm off to find, Licia" He walked away whistling a tune and closed the door behind him leaving me to my thoughts.

I made my way out of the meeting room and grabbed one of the champaign shoots off a tray carried by one of the many waiters staffing the party. I was headed towards one of the tables that littered the ballroom floor but then something or should I say someone caught my eye. She was gorgeous her long powder blue gown complemented her long curly crimson hair and her bright green eyes shone under the lights of the ballroom. She had a discontented look on her face and was mumbling, I decided to go over and check on her. I walked over and cleared my throat she turned and put a hand over her heart and said, "I'm sorry you scared me, is there something you need?" I shook my head and said, "I'm sorry to scare you I'm Warren Worthington III and I just thought you looked upset I was worried about you" She sighed and said, "Thank you for your genuine concern most of the rich young men here would assume I was lonely and try and take me home not ask how I was doing, the names Angela Trask it's a pleasure to meet you' and I'm upset with my fathers blatant disregard for life. He thinks its alright to kill mutants because their different he's wrong they should get a fair chance to live their lives. It absolutely disgusts me. How do you feel about mutants Warren"

That was an easy question to answer why I felt that way not so easy. My tone was soft as I said, "Mutants are the same as us they live, breath, eat, get married, have children and just love life in general. All around they are good people and some of them even fight for a brighter tomorrow like the x-men. There are evil mutants who want to kill normal people though so that makes that group a reflection of your father. In short I believe mutants have as much right as normal humans to live a long and fulfilling life." She blinked a couple of times and turned to face me, my six foot two frame towered over her barely five foot body, She spoke in a confident tone and said, "If that's the way you feel pleasure to meet you. Now this party is getting to crowded for my taste would you like to take a walk" She was right it was getting crowded and that meant there was a higher possibility someone could bump into me and feel my restrained wings, my choice was obvious. "Sure" With that we walked off into the pale moonlight, it was going to be a beautiful night.
