Six

^^^I can already tell 2019 is going to be an amazing year! Can't wait to see the light stick^^^

"What do you think that was about?" Maya asked as she tilted her head. Hyunjin smiled, thinking it was the cutest thing ever before answering her with an "I don't know." In all honesty, he did know. It was because of the way Maya treated him. It was obvious that Seungmin thought there was something special between them but realised it was nothing after seeing her redo it to Hyunjin. Maya scratched her head.

"Do you think I did something?" Her eyes studied the boy in front of her for an answer.

"No. He looked busy writing in that stupid book of his. Maybe he just wanted some space to finish off."

Maya heaved a sigh.

"You really don't hide how much you hate him, you know. I didn't like him either but I gave him a chance and he turned out to be the cutest thing ever. You should give him a chance too."

Hyunjin clutched his fists in anger but the girl failed to notice.

"So, I'm not your cutie anymore?"

"That's not what I meant, Jinnie."

"Am I or am I not?"

"You are. I just meant that he turned out to be opposite of what I had first thought of him. Who knows, maybe someday the two of you will become really close friends."

Hyunjin rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Yeah right..."

"Just give him a chance. Please. For me," she pleaded.

"Fine, but I'm not promising anything."

Maya smiled.

"Thanks, Jinnie."

Then she pulled him into a hug.

Seungmin watched as the two hugged and once more felt his heart break into a million pieces. He bit his lip in anger. He knew Hyunjin was doing that on purpose to prove a point to him but Seungmin hated losing – especially to him.

"You okay?" Suddenly someone asked. He turned his head in the direction the voice came from and saw a girl smiling at him. She had long black hair that complemented her fair skin tone.

"Y-yeah," he responded before breaking their eye contact to look back at the duo who had gone back to talking.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing."

"So you've been looking at nothing for the past couple minutes?" She crossed her arms, leaned on her right leg and raised an eyebrow.

"Have you been stalking me?"

The girl was obviously taken aback by his question and blinked a couple of times, processing his question. Suddenly her face burnt a bright red and she frowned in embarrassment.

Seungmin smiled at this, finding it incredibly cute.

"N-no. I was just...I mean I just...you were there and I was...you just seemed to..."

"I was kidding," he gave her a warm smile and she turned even redder.

"Oh."

"What's your name?"

The girl pouted in confusion as she tilted her head.

"You don't know me?"

"I'm new."

Her face brightened up and she smiled.

"I knew I hadn't seen you before. Anyway, I'm Tzuyu. Chou Tzuyu. What's your name?"

"Kim Seungmin."

"How old are you?"

"Seventeen."

"Really? You're really mature for your age then."

While Tzuyu was talking, Seungmin observed something he found adorable about her: when she spoke in an excited tone, her eyes seemed to become bigger.

"Thanks? How old are you?"

"I'm also seventeen."

"Really?"

"Yeah. If you don't mind me asking, where did you attend school before?"

"I was home-schooled."

"Really? I heard that usually, home-schooled teens have problems socialising and making friends," she paused and looked down at her feet as she fiddled with her fingers. "I-I was wondering i-if that was true."

"I don't know, I grew up socialising a lot so I didn't have a problem. The only thing is..." I turned to look at Maya as she laughed with Hyunjin. "Because we lack high school experience, we tend to be naïve and end up being hurt." He saw Tzuyu's eyebrows furrow in his peripheral vision before turning to face her.

"Is this...based on experience?" She was staring at him intensely, begging for an answer to her question.

"No," he lied before giving her a fake smile. "I was kidding...again."

Tzuyu heaved a sigh with a pout plastered across her face.

"You know, usually I'm not this gullible. Why am I falling for all of your jokes?" Her pout was soon replaced with a wide grin. "I guess what my friends said about you is true. You are special...and oddly interesting."

"Thanks?"

"May I ask you a question?"

"Sure. Go ahead."

"What's your relationship with Maya? You walked to school with her this morning and you two were oddly close earlier on."

"We're just friends."

"Then why do you keep on looking at her with Jinnie?"

"It's just that," he took a deep breath. "I'm trying to figure out their relationship because I thought they were friends but now I'm starting to think they are more than that."

"And what's wrong with that?"

"N-nothing. I just thought he might be a little jealous because of all the time I'm spending with his girlfriend. If they are dating that is."

"Don't worry, they aren't but I mean it's clear that they both have feelings for each other so yes, he probably is jealous. So, I would suggest that you leave them alone. In the meantime, you can hang out with me...I mean if you want to." She once again fiddled with her fingers and looked down. Seungmin beamed at her as he lifted her chin with his index finger so she was looking straight at him.

"I would love that."
