- Chapter Fifteen -

As you, Leo, and the Davenport siblings walked down the hall, you could hear Douglas yelling; next! You rose a brow in confusion as you all walked into the Hydra-loop area, to see Douglas scanning the students' necks.

"What's up, Douglas? Doing a price check on the bionic kids?" Leo asked, as Douglas smiled.

"Ooh, I wonder how much I'm worth," Adam wondered.

"Well, we can sell your parts and find out," Chase offered smiling.

"Alright, well, just don't sell the part that does this," Adam stated, hitting Chase's shoulder.

"OW?!" Chase exclaimed, rubbing his arm as Douglas began speaking, "I'm just cataloging everyone's abilities."

"Ooh, count me in," Adam added.

"Adam, we already know what your abilities are," Bree replied.

"Ugh, okay, you got me. I just really like waiting in lines," Adam smiled, as he cut in line.

"In addition to the bionics we know they have, Krane also gave them a lot of weird hidden abilities. I'm just trying to get a grip on what we're dealing with," Douglas explained.

"What does that guy have?" you asked, motioning to the guy with red hands.

"Check it out," Douglas smiled, as he grabbed a raw patty, "Oh, no! My lunch is undercooked. Oh, Thermo hands!"

Douglas waved Thermo hands over as he placed he raw patty onto his hands, causing it to sizzle. A moment later, Thermo hands held up his hand, revealing a cooked patty.

"Why, thank you," Douglas smiled as Adam spoke, "Sweet ability, dude."

Adam gave a high five to Thermo hands, only to burn his hand, "Ow, hot. Hot! Hot! Ooh, hey those things are dangerous."

"Try it again, I'm sure they've cooled down," Bree shrugged.

"Oh, no, I'm not falling for that. I got her," Adam smiled, high fiving Thermo hands and burning his hands again, "OW!" he exclaimed, walking away.

"Hey, [Name], come here," Douglas motioned you over.

"Why? You already know my abilities and remember, I wasn't made by Krane," you stated, crossing your arms.

"Just get over here," Douglas stated.

"No thank you," you shook your head.

"Listen to Uncle Dougie," Adam said, pushing you backwards as Douglas scanned your neck.

"There. Now that wasn't so hard was it?" Douglas asked smugly, as you shot the man a glare.

You sat with Bree and Chase, eating lunch as Douglas walked in, "You!" Douglas exclaimed, pointing a finger at you.

"Me!" you mocked back, using the same tone as Douglas.

"You're a liar!" Douglas stalked towards you.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," you lied smoothly.

"Yes you do. Hey, Chase you are not going to believe this. Another student has the commando app," Douglas informed, as you kept sipping your water, praying that Douglas would keep his mouth shut.

"What? I thought I was the only one with the app," Chase pointed to himself.

"Yeah, you're not that special," Douglas patted Chase's shoulder, as Chase looked at Bree.

"Don't look at me. I've been trying to tell you that for years," Bree replied.

"So," Chase stated, as he stood up, "which one of these manly warriors is following in my footsteps?" Chase asked, looking at the guys.

"Here we go," you mumbled, as Douglas turned Chase's head and pointed, "Her."

You followed their gaze seeing a girl, struggling to open a ketchup bottle.

"Kate?! She's the most timid girl in the whole academy. I've seen her run from her own shadow," Chase explained.

"And that's the beauty of the commando app. The enemy is cut off guard by a non-threatening subject," Douglas chuckled.

"But I have the commando app," Chase pointed to himself as Douglas laughed, "Yes you do. Look, I didn't want to scare Kate, so I told her that she had a sonic scream ability instead. So until I can figure out a way to remove the app, make sure nothing triggers it and sets off Spikette."

"Spikette?" Chase questioned.

"Catchy right? I like it and I'm keeping it!" Douglas answered as Bree gave him a disapproving look.

You rolled your eyes as you looked at Douglas, "Are you done now?"

"Nope, and Chase, [Name] has the commando app also," Douglas stated walking away, leaving you stunned with your mouth slightly agape.

"You have it too and you never told me?" Chase asked, looking at you.

"Well, I didn't think it was important," you replied shrugging.

"It is! Man, this is perfect. I've never seen my commando app in action. If I can activate [Name]'s commando app, maybe I can figure out a way to control it, which would help the three of us," Chase motion to you, Kate, and himself.

"And who said that I was helping you? I never agreed," you stated, standing up.

"Please, you have to help," Chase stated.

"Nope, sorry Chase. Not this time," you shook your head.

Chase then looked back at Kate, "Then I'll just have to activate Spikette."

"Uh-uh, no way, you heard Douglas. he doesn't want us triggering a dangerous app," Bree explained.

"But I can-"

Bree cut off Chase, "No, Chase! We are not here to experiment on the students. We're here to help them," Bree stated, walking away.

"Fine," Chase sighed, turning around as Kate walked up, "Excuse me, Chase? Can you help me open this?"

"Sure," Chase replied, taking the bottle as he halted, "Wait, did you just ask for my help?"

"Yes," Kate nodded.

"So you want me, to help you?" Chase motioned, as you sighed rubbing your head as Kate hummed in agreement.

"Me, Chase, is going to help you, Kate-"

"Just open the bottle Chase!" you exclaimed, as Kate spoke, "Okay, maybe I should just ask someone else," Kate went to walk away as Chase grabbed her arm.

"Oh, no! You asked me for my help and you're getting it! There's no turning back!" Chase said, as he ran off with Kate.

"Chase is gonna get in so much trouble," you sighed, as you walked in the opposite direction.

You walked into the Hydra-loop area, seeing Kate dressed in a clown outfit, and a very, ticked off Chase, "What does it take to trigger this app? We tried fear, intimidation-"

"Embarrassment," Kate added, "I don't mean to be rude, but how is this helping me open a bottle of ketchup?"

"Oh, ketchup, you're still on that? This is a life lesson, use mustard!" Chase pointed out.

"Okay, I'll go find some," Kate said, jogging away.

"Chase, you need to calm down and stop torching the poor girl," you stated, walking forward.

"Well, what I'm I suppose to do? You wouldn't help me," Chase sighed.

"Yeah, because it's my commando app. That doesn't give you the right to experiment on me nor on her, and not to mention torcher her," you explained, as Adam walked in.

"Chase, I need the basement keycard. I'm having a foosball table delivered, so to make room I'm putting your capsule in the dumpster," Adam smiled.

"Can't you see that I'm busy?" Chase asked.

"So am I, I'm trying to throw something out you need to survive. Give me the keycard," Adam said, picking Chase up and shaking him.

"Give me that!"

"Put me down!"

"Adam, put Chase down now!" you ordered.

"Got it!" Kate stated walking in as you sighed.

You then saw Kate began to twitch as she stared at Adam and Chase. She was responding.

"Oh, no. Chase!" you called, as Chase looked over.

"Hey, wait! She's responding. Keep hurting me!" Chase stated.

"Not a good idea," you commented.

"Good for you, Chase. You're finally learning to accept it," Adam spoke, as he kept thrashing Chase around.

Kate kept twitching as she ripped off her clown costume, "Drop the boy-child before I pull out your tonsils out of your nose!"

"Holy moly," you muttered, watching what was unfolding in front of you.

Adam then dropped Chase as he pointed at Kate, who made grunting noises, "What is that?" Adam asked as if she were some type of wild animal.

"Adam, you did it! That is Spikette!" Chase pointed at Kate, well Spikette.

"Really? Huh, this whole time I've been calling her Janet," Adam explained, as Kate charged forward and flung Adam across the room.

"Woah, I had no idea the commando app was so-"

Chase got cut off as Spikette threw Chase on her lap, "Shh. Baby good now," Spikette petted Chase's hair.

"[Name] help me!" Chase cried out.

"I would, but you didn't listen, and now you look at that, I must get going. You'll figure it out, you're the smartest man in the world!" you yelled, as you walked away.

After some time, you decided to check on Chase. As you walked into the Hydra-loop area, you noticed that somehow Chase was able to escape from Spikette. Now she was destroying everything in sight, making students run for their dear life.

"Chase, we all told you not to activate her commando app, and what did you do? You activated her commando app! You're just as bad as Douglas who gave the spider growth hormones!" you scolded, as you both watched out for Spikette.

"I know, I know! But I am not as bad as Douglas!" he protested, as Bree came in and looked at you both.

"Guys what's going on in here?" Bree asked, as you looked at Chase, waiting for him to answer.

"Um..." Chase froze, not knowing what to say. He actually looked terrified facing his sister.

"You activated Kate's commando app, didn't you?!" she asked, hands on her hips.

"What? No," Chase answered, as you all saw Kate chasing a student with a chair, "Okay, technically I didn't do it. Adam did when he attacked me," Chase explained.

"Wait, what? That doesn't make sense. Why would her commando app kick in if you were the one who was getting attacked?" Bree asked.

"It must be triggered by some kind of mama bear instinct," you informed.

"Now it's glitching like crazy. First, she's trying to baby me, and then, she's trying to destroy everything in sight," Chase added.

Kate grunted as you turned around to see a chair being hurled towards your way. You three ducked as the chair flew by, before getting up again.

"What were you thinking?!" Bree exclaimed, as she hit Chase.

"Wrong move, Bree," you stated, as you backed up slightly.

"Stay away from baby!" Spikette exclaimed, pulling Bree aside.

"Yes, ma'am, I'm sorry," Bree apologized as Spikette ran off.

"I don't get it. My commando app would've shut down awhile ago. But Kate's adrenaline levels are going through the roof!" Chase explained.

"Okay. Then just shut her down!" Bree stated.

"Oh, it's a great idea, you know, I hadn't thought of that," Chase stated calmly before yelling, "I CAN'T, I DON'T KOW HOW!"

"Chase, calm down. If you're not calm, we won't get Kate to calm down," you stated in a calmly manner.

Chase sighed, "Maybe if we just contain her in here, we'll be okay," you three then saw Kate break a column with her bare hands! "Then again, maybe not."

You rolled your eyes as Kate came towards you guys, "Baby want toy?" Spikette asked, holding the column.

"You know, for a maniac, her maternal instincts are dead on," Chase explained.

You, Bree, Chase, and Douglas were hiding behind a flipped table as you all watched Kate digging through the trash.

"So you turned Kate into Spikette even though I told you not to? You know, I try to be the fun uncle, but you people make it so hard," Douglas explained.

"I'm sorry. I wanted to observe the commando app. [Name] wouldn't help me so I turned to Kate, and now that I have, my scientific conclusion is...I'm scared," Chase squeaked.

You all then saw Spikette eating a piece of chicken with her bare hands.

"What a lady," you commented sarcastically as Bree spoke up, "Oh, look, she's taking a snack break before she destroys the rest of the academy."

"No fork, no plate. Where are her manners?" Douglas asked disgusted.

"You grilled your lunch on a kid's dirty hands," you pointed out, as Bree and Chase nodded.

"In the name of science!" Douglas exclaimed, "The only way to stop the app is to manually override the chip. So first we have to-"

"We get the chip. I'm no it," Chase said, as he walked out towards Spikette.

"This is not going to end well," you sighed.

As Chase walked forward, Spikette turned around and spoke, "Mommy chewed food. Open your mouth!"

Spikette took Chase's face, bending him over, trying to spit food down his throat as he started to yell, "Baby good, baby good!"

You couldn't help but laugh along with Douglas as Bree watched disgusted.

"Wait, the chip extractor. Throw it to me," Chase motioned Douglas to throw the extractor.

Douglas threw the extractor as Spikette caught it, "Not safe for baby," Spikette growled, breaking the chip extractor in half.

Chase then ran back over as you looked at Douglas, "I hope you know that you throw like a girl."

"Oh, yeah? Like you could do better!" Douglas argued.

"Oh I can," you replied.

"Great, now what are we going to do?" Bree asked, as Chase squeezed himself between you and Bree.

"I don't know, but so far panicking and hiding behind things are working for me," Chase explained.

"We're gonna have to use physical force to restrain her which means you are gonna have to get aggressive," Douglas looked at you, "Spikette needs to meet her match," Douglas pointed at you.

"What? No! Have Chase do it!" you pointed at Chase.

"I don't fight girls," Chase protested.

"You fought me!" you argued.

"Stop being so stubborn!" Chase exclaimed.

"No, you stop being so stubborn!" you poked his chest.

"Chase, you have to do it," Douglas informed.

"Oh, no. No, no, no. You can't turn me into Spike," Chase stated.

"But I can," Bree smiled smugly.

Bree the super sped Chase out of the training area. When you ran into the Hydra-loop area, you saw Chase in a giant diaper. Chase looked down and jumped in surprise, as the other students began to laugh, while Bree began to taunt Chase.

You chuckled but stopped when you saw Chase getting angry. Chase growled as he spit his binky out.

"What are you chuckle nuggets laughing at?! Never seen a grown man in a diaper before?" Spike growled, making the students run as Spikette walked in.

"Oh, great! Mama bear's here," you stated, as you stood beside Bree.

"Baby? Baby!" Spikette clapped.

"Oh, I'm no baby. I'm a man sandwich served with a tall glass of macho," Spike explained, posing.

"Well, are you man enough to take her down?" Bree asked, trying to rile up Spike.

"No can do. She's a lady, Spike always respects a lady," Spike explained.

"He still respects a lady in Spike form, who knew," you stated.

"This is not a lady," Douglas pointed at Spikette.

"Hey, who are you calling not a lady?!" Spikette asked, as she pushed Douglas back.

Spike gave her a high five as he spoke, "Be right back. Spike feels...under-dressed for this particular occasion."

Spike walked away, as his slippers squeaked.

"Great job Bree," you fist bumped her, "I know right?" she chuckled.

You, Bree, and Douglas hid behind a wall, watching Spikette throw things around. Instead of winding down, Spikette seemed to grow worse.

"I don't get it. She's suppose to be winding down not getting stronger," Bree stated as she watched Spikette.

"It's a glitch. If her commando app keeps going, her chip's gonna burn out and melt her brain. And I am not cleaning that up!" Douglas informed, "[Name], I need you to activate your commando app."

"Uh-uh. No way!" you shook your head, backing up.

"Oh, c'mon. All you need to do is subdue Spikette long enough, so I can extract her chip," Douglas explained.

"I said no. I'm not doing it, sorry guys but, you're on your own," you stated walking away.

"Don't worry Douglas, I can activate her commando app," Bree smirked.

Ten minutes went by and Bree needed to speak to you. As you walked into the Hydra-loop area, you saw Douglas and Bree still hiding behind the wall.

"What do you want now?" you asked.

Then a guy walked in, know as Alex, as he looked at you.

"Hey, [Name]. Have I ever told you that you shine as beautiful as the stars?" Alex asked flirtatiously.

"Now is not the time to flirt. Can't you see we're in a middle of a crisis!" you spat, walking past him, standing next to Douglas and Bree, watching Spike and Spikette.

"Oh, so is this about Chase? Man, that's so sad. He's really pathetic you know that? I mean c'mon-"

You whirled around as faced Alex, "Excuse me? How dare you speak that way about him, your mentor. He's my best friend and if I were you, I would shut my mouth understand? If you ever speak like that about him, or any of the Davenports like that again? I will set you on fire understand?"

Alex nodded as you backed him against the wall. You were beyond furious and before you knew it, your commando app was activated.

ENGAGED

COMMANDO APP:

ACTIVATED.

You glared at the boy as you grabbed the collar of his shirt, "You better stay out of my way, before I break all your fingers and shove them down your throat," you growled, as Alex nodded running off.

You then whipped around to see Bree and Douglas.

"And who might you be ma'am?" Douglas asked smiling, as you walked forward, "Lucy, and Lucy has come out to play."

You then walked into the training area, seeing Spike leaning against the wall, as he caught your gaze.

"Well, hello there sweetheart. What's your name?" Spike asked.

"Lucy, what's yours?" you asked, as you walked forward.

"Name's, Spike, but can call me handsome," he flirted, wrapping an arm around your waist, "Let's get out of here and leave this place."

"Stay away from baby!" Spikette growled, snatching you away from Spike.

"Oh, would you look at that. You're a momma's boy! Sorry, but he's mine," you growled selfishly.

"No! Stay away from baby!" Spikette growled.

"Ladies, please, settle this the right way," Spike stated, as you lunged at Spikette going in an all out brawl.

You and Spikette fought for awhile, but Spikette seemed to be getting stronger instead of winding down.

"I cannot believe this, [Name] was suppose to wind her down, but she's getting stronger!" Bree sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"Maybe Lucy needs a partner to help Spikette wind down," Douglas pointed out, as he looked at Bree.

"Uh-uh, no way!"

"Oh, c'mon! It's a new version I can shut down as soon as you're done. Like I said before, all you need to do is subdue Spikette long enough so I can extract her chip," Douglas explained.

"Not going to happen," Bree shook her head.

"Did I mention you'll be able to tear Chase apart?" Douglas asked.

"Now you're talking! Let's go this Uncle Dougie," Bree nodded.

While fighting Spikette, you were able to throw her across the room. Spike then came up from behind with his arms crossed, "You are the most dangerous woman I have ever seen you know that?"

"Why, thank you. It's a gift," you smirked, as Spikerella walked in.

"Who the heck are you?" Spikette growled.

"Your worst nightmare," Spikerella growled, as they both circled one another.

As you were about to partner up with Spikerella, you halted in your steps.

COMMANDO APP:

DISENGAGE.

You stood there, blinking multiple times as you saw Bree and Spikette circling one another. You were about to walk forward, only to be pulled back by Spike.

"Where do you think you're going, sweetheart? Not without a kiss," Spike smirked.

"I thought that Spike respected the ladies," you smiled, as Spike let go of your hand.

You then ran over to Douglas, "What happened?!"

"I'll explain everything later," Douglas replied, as you watched what was unfolding in front of your eyes.

"This should be good. Everyone knows that girls can't fight," Spike crossed his arms.

"Excuse me?" Spikette and Spikerella asked in unison.

"I said girls...can't fight!"

Spikerella then tossed Spike across the room as Douglas smiled, "[Name], meet Spikerella!"

"Who is the girl now?" Spikerella asked, as she turned towards Spikette, circling her once again.

"Nice hair. Can't wait to rip it out and use it as a scarf!" Spikette spat.

"Go ahead, then I'll shave your back and make some matching mittens," Spikerella spat back, as they both lunged at one another.

As they fought, a little boy walked in, "Woah! What's going on in here?"

Spikette then pushed Spikerella aside, "New baby!"

"I'm not a baby," the little boy replied.

"Baby cranky, must be hungry," Spikette stated, eating a piece of chicken.

Adam, Leo, and Douglas then walked in. You didn't even notice Douglas had left.

"There you are. You're out of here, Reggie," Leo pointed out the door.

"I told you. I'm not going anywhere," Reggie replied.

"Lunchy munchy! Open mouthy!"

You all made a disgusted face as you watched Spikette spit the chicken into Reggie's mouth. Reggie then spit out the chicken, "Get me out of here!"

"Who's that?" Douglas asked, point at the boy.

"Long story short, Leo's going to jail," Adam replied.

"Help me!" Reggie cried.

"Oh, so now you're ready to go?" Leo crossed his arms.

"Yes!" Reggie exclaimed, as Leo snapped his fingers, "Grab him."

Adam rushed forward, breaking Reggie and Spikette apart.

"BABY!" Spikette exclaimed, running forward as Spikerella tackled her down.

Douglas then took a step forward but hesitated.

"What, are you hesitating?" you asked, as Douglas looked at you, "I'm scared."

You rolled your eyes as you pushed him forward, "Stop being such a baby!"

Spikerella then tossed Spikette into the Hydra-loop area, "Get back here! I'm not done throwing you!"

"The chip extractor is almost fixed. Hurry up and take her down!" Douglas exclaimed.

"Shut it or I'll take you down!" Spikerella spat.

"Carry on," Douglas nodded.

You stayed back, watching the girls. They both fought, punching and kicking one another, ducking and dodging one another's hits. Spikette tried to get passed Spikerella, but she tossed Spikette throw the window.

"Hurry up, Douglas!" you stated.

"I'm trying here!" he replied.

They both kept fighting until Spikerella knocked Spikette down. Douglas the ran over and extracted Kate's chip.

"Got it! She should be out for awhile, plenty of time for me to adjust her settings," Douglas explained, taking off.

Chase then came in groaning, "Oh, what happened?" he asked, as Spikerella began to growl.

"I would run if I were you," you stated.

"Bree?! What's going on?" Chase asked.

"You again! Still think that girls can't fight?" Spikerella roared.

"Run, Chase," you warned.

"I'm not so sure you are a girl," Chase replied.

Dumb move. Spikerella then ran after Chase as you sighed, "I warned him, and he didn't listen," you shook your head as you walked away.

You were with Douglas as he spoke to Chase, "Well I hope you learned your lesson."

"Definitely. Girls can fight," Chase replied.

"Yup. Now go apologize to Kate," Douglas pointed at Kate.

Chase then walked over to Kate, "Um, hi, Kate. Good to see you. Look, I really just want to apologize for being so selfish. I never should've used you as a science experiment."

"It's okay, I forgive you," Kate smiled.

"You do? Thanks," Chase smiled.

"Here, you'll need these," Douglas handed you over head phones.

"For what?" you asked.

"You'll see," he smirked, as you both pulled the head phones on.

After a minute, Kate used a sonic scream, causing Chase to fall on the floor. Kate smirked as she high fived Douglas, walking into the training area. You and Douglas then took the head phones off as Douglas spoke, "Oh...did I forget to mention I gave Kate an actual sonic scream?"

Douglas laughed as he walked away.

"I told you from the beginning that it was a bad idea," you smirked down at Chase as you walked away.

"Hey, Douglas!" you called, entering the Hydra-loop area.

"What's up?" he asked.

"I was wondering if you could show me the security footage of what happened yesterday," you replied.

"Sure."

Then, Leo and the Davenport siblings walked in, "What are you two doing?" Bree asked.

"He's going to show me the footage of what happened yesterday, you know with the whole commando app thing," you explained.

"Oh, I want to see!" Leo exclaimed.

"Okay, here you go," Douglas stated, as the footage began to play on screen.

After it was over, you ran your hand through your hair.

"Well, that was something. Who knew that Spike and Lucy took a liking to one another," Leo commented.

"I told you guys it was a bad idea," you sighed.

"Well, yeah. But the whole thing was entertaining," Douglas stated.

"[Name]," Chase called, making you look at him, "Did you really mean those things? What you said to Alex?"

"Uh, yeah," you coughed awkwardly.

"Thank you for standing up for me, and the family," he smiled.

"Anytime," you replied.

"Aww, you're cute when your furious," Adam smiled, bringing you in a side hug.

"Shut up," you mumbled, hiding your smile in his shoulder.
