Space Colony P.2

- Chapter Thirty -

"I knew you'd show up sooner or later," Krane stepped up, walking forward.

"Where's my wife?" Mr. Davenport growled. "What have you done with the colonists?"

"In due time. But for now, what do you say we focus on our little reunion?" Krane asked, raising his hand as you stood in a fighting stance.

'We should be taking the Davenports down! Not this guy!'

'No. We need to help the Davenports defeat him.'

"Just for the sake of asking," Perry walked forward to Krane, "if we were to sacrifice Tasha--"

Leo cut Perry off as he shoved her back. "Get over here."

"We blasted you miles into the sky," Bree stated. "How are you even alive?"

"How are the odds he'd land here?" Adam stated.

Krane then began to talk, but his speech was garbled together, making it hard to understand.

"What?" Chase asked in utter confusion.

"I said..." Krane began, his speech garbling again.

"Still not getting it. Sounds like something's jammed in your air duct," Adam explaimed as Krane hit the side of his mask.

"Better?" Krane asked as everyone nodded in agreement. "When I fell back to Earth, I sustained severe injuries. This face plate helps me breath."

"Well, I think I speak for a of us when I say it's an upgrade, because that chain of paper clips you had hanging off your face was not working," Mr. Davenport explained as Krane lifted his arm, chocking Mr. Davenport as he threw him to the ground. Bree ran over and helped him up. "Okay. Still got that old trick."

"And a few new ones, too," Krane added.

"How did you get up here?" Leo asked, as you kept your gaze on Krane.

"I used a cyber cloak, pretended I was a colonist," Krane explained, looking at Mr. Davenport. "Remember Roberta from Kentuckey?"

"It all makes sense now," Mr. Davenport stated. "The satellite, the hole in the dome. It was you."

"When I heard you were creating a space colony in another galaxy, I realized this was my perfect opportunity," Krane explained.

"To become a middle-aged Southern woman?" Adam asked.

"To create a new base camp for my bionic army, far away from any meddling humans," Krane replied.

"Well, you don't have a bionic army anymore," Bree stated walking forward. "They work for us now."

"I have a new army. Your colonists." Krane replied. "They're about to be implanted with bionics, which brings me to Dr. Gao." Then a man stepped in. "Dr. Gao is a scientist who's come up with a new way of creating bionic humans," Krane explained as Dr. Gao walked over. "Liquid injection."

"We will never let you put bionics in thoses innocent people." Mr. Davenport stated.

"You won't have a choice," Krane took out a device. "Look familiar? With the Triton App device, I can make you do anything I want."

"Nice try, but the Triton App won't work on us." Chase stated. "Mr. Davenport put a block in our chips."

"You may have a block, but your father doesn't." Krane stated. He raised the device as Chase ran in front of Mr. Davenport, resulting in Krane shocking orange electricity at him.

Without thinking you shot your electricity bolts at Krane, causing him to stumble back, making him stop electrocuting Chase. You all went to check on Chase as Krane used the Triton App on Mr. Davenport. Krane began to laugh as Mr. Davenport stood up with glowing green eyes.

"Who's your daddy now?" Krane asked.

You all then began to try to snap him out of his trance-like-state, but nothing was working.

"It's too late," Chase stated standing up. "He's already under Krane's control."

"Please, whatever you do, don't turn me into a bionic soldier," Perry stated as she leaned towards Krane. "Just putting on a little show for the kids. I'm all yours."

"Pass," Krane stated, making Perry frown. "Gao, come and get the newest member of my army."

"Gladly," Dr. Gao smiled.

"Don't even think about it," Adam growled, using his heat vision as Dr. Gao caught it in a bubble as he laughed.

He then threw it at all of you, making you all duck out of the way. He seized the opportunity to grab Mr. Davenport and geo-leap away.

"Wait, he can geo-leap?" Leo asked.

"After I fell back to Earth, Dr. Gao was the only one person who could fix me." Krane explained. "Since he was a scientist, I paid him back with my most precious resource-- the same bionic secrets Douglas gave me."

Dr. Gao then geo-leaped back with a barrel. "With those secrets, I was able to apply my own science to create this." He then lifted the lid, pulling out a case of green liquid test tubes. "Liquid bionics. Once this bionic fluid enters the human bloodstream, the compounds begin to solidify, forming a bionic infrastructure that comminicates with the muscles and brain, creating one incredibly powerful bionic human."

"Why are you helping a madman?" Bree asked him, as he laughed.

"Who's to say I'm not madder than he is?" Dr. Gao walked closer.

"Destroy them." Krane commanded.

Dr. Gao shot the orange electric volts at Chase like how Krane did before. You then shot your blue electric volts, making it clash against his own. Dr. Gao used more energy, shocking you back making you tumble to the floor beside Chase. Adam charged forward as Krane held his hand up, using a blue force to toss Adam to the side. You looked up, grunting in slight pain seeing Bree super speeding and knocking the two men back. You quickly got up, ignoring the stinging pain in your side as you and the rest of the siblings helped Adam up as you all ran to a secluded place.

As you went to follow the Davenport trio, Leo stopped you by grabbing your forearm. "I have an idea. Come with me to the ship."

"Why?" you asked puzzled.

"You'll see now, c'mon!" he urged, pulling you with him as you both ran to Mr. Davenport's spacecraft.

~~~~~
"I can't believe you brought a gun with you on this little 'family vacation'." you stated as Leo smiled, holding the gun in hand.
"It's good to be extra prepared. You never know when things will happen, like this. Better to be safe than sorry." Leo stated s you both neared the security room, hearing Adam ask the others where you and Leo were as you both entered. "Leo was busy. Coming up with his own plan."
"Nice." Chase smiled. "That's exactly the firepower we need. Where did you get it from?"
"From the spacecraft," you replied as Leo swung the gun around, making everyone duck.
"Did you really think I was gonna fly out here empty handed?" Leo asked. "I've seen enough space movies to know that the fourth banana gets it right out of the gate."
"C'mon guys, we have to find them before they inject the bionics into the colonists." you informed, heading out as they others followed.
~~~~~

After walking through the entire colony, you all were able to find Krane and Dr. Gao in a secluded area, ready to insert the bionic liquid in Mr. Davenport.

"Not so fast, chin strap." Leo stated, pointing the gun at them. "Ha! Didn't think we'd find you, didn't you?"

"The entire colony is one square mile." Krane explained.

"Yeah, well, we walkes that mile, and we found you." Adam smiled.

"You really think that toy is going to do anything to the two most powerful beings in the universe?" Dr. Gao asked.

"We're about to find out." Leo stated, making you smirk as he shot, Dr. Gao geo-leaping away making Leo shoot at the barrel instead.

That made Krane shriek.

"Leo, keep shooting!" Bree commanded, Leo shot all the barrles making them erupt in flames.

"You imbecile. What are you doing?!" Krane asked, as Bree super sped and ripped Krane's mask off.

Bree threw the mask to Adam as he tossed it afar. Krane buckled to the floor as he tried to get oxygen back in his lungs.

"Lets finish this Leo." Bree stated as Leo shot at the celing.

"That should do it." Leo nodded.

"C'mon, we have to get out of here." Chase stated.

"What about Gao?" Adam asked.

"We don't have time." Chase pointed upwards. "The entire dome is about to collapse. We have to get everyone to the spacecraft fast."

"So now you're talking to me again." Adam pointed out.

"Stop your petty bickering and let's go, now!" you yelled, causing them to lead the colonists to the aircraft.

~~~~~
By the time you all loaded the colonists into the spacecraft, the space colony began to collapse. You and Bree walked side by side as she spoke. "Alright, the colonists are locked up in the back with Davenport and Tasha."
"Great. Once we get back to Earth, we can deactivate their Triton Apps." Chase informed.
"Do we have too?" Adam asked. "I think Mr. Davenport looks kinda nice with green eyes."
The spacecraft began to shake as Leo spoke. "That dome is about to come down. We need to get out of here."
"Saddle up, skin boards." Perry instructed as you all walked to the front to sit. "The filly's locked and loaded and rarin' to jam out of the space rock stable. That one's for you, Buck."
You sat next to Bree as Perry began to fly the aircraft.
"Wow, looks like we made it out of there just in time." Bree commented.
"No kidding," you stated.
"Okay, I don't know about you guys, but all this space stuff has me worn out." Leo stated. "I'm gonna take a nice, inter-galactic nap."
"Yeah, you do that." you stated, gazing at the passing stars.
"Chase, just hurry up and get us home." Bree stated.
"Alright, I'll plot a course. I think we can take a shortcut through the Andromeda galaxy." Chase explained. "Should be smooth sailing from here."
~~~~~

It's been an hour or so and Perry had walked around aimlessly, Bree changed seats so she sat next to Adam, as you and Chase stayed seated in your seats.

"Worst vacation ever." Bree stated.

"Tell me about it." Perry stated. "What do you say tomorrow we, us three girls hit the day spa and get put armpits waxed? It'll be a nice change from going to the barber shop."

Perry lifted her arms, making Adam gag and Bree to look away disgusted.

"See, all I wanted was to stay at the academy, but did you guys let me? No! You had to drag me up here and looked what happened." you sighed.

"Hey, Leo looks nice with green eyes too." Adam complimented.

You and Chase turned around to indeed see Leo with green eyes.

"That's the Triton App." you informed, as Leo began to raise his laser sphere at you all.

"Why is be aiming at us?!" Bree asked.

"Watch out!" Chase yelled.

You all ran to the side as Leo threw his laser sphere.

"Get behind me." Chase ordered, as he activated his force field.

Leo threw another, but it bounced off Chase's force field and hit the celing.

"For a guy who throws like my grandma, he's got really good aim." Perry informed.

"When I put my force field down, you use your super speed to take him out." Chase looked at Bree then looked at Adam. "Then you subdue him." Adam and Bree nodded in agreement. "Be careful. We don't wanna hurt him."

"Speak for yourself." Perry stated as Chase yelled go.

Bree super sped and knocked Leo down as Adam ran over and held Leo down.

"Nice work, everybody." Chase nodded.

"Indeed." You all looked to see Gao walking in. "Very impressive."

"Aw, thanks, Dr. Gao." Adam smiled before gasping in realization. "Dr. Gao!"

"Did you really think I would just run away and let you go home?" Gao asked as he pointed his gun at all you. "I'm just getting started. Capturing your little space colony was just a small piece of our much-greater plan. To begin again."

"What do you mean begin again?" Chase asked.

"Wiping out all human existance on Earth, and repopulating it with a better, stronger, bionic civilization." Dr. Gao explained. "Once I launch my Doomsday missile, it will start a nuclear winter, taking out all human life. Then I will inject your colonists with what remains of my bionic liquid, amd my new race of superhumans will thrive."

"Not if we stop you first." Chase stated.

"Too late. I just launched the rocket." Dr. Gao announced. "In minutes, the human race will be a distance memory, and there's nothing you pathetic little bionic heroes can do about it." he smiled. "Well, lets wrap this up, shall we? I got colonists to inject, and a bionic army to assemble. The workday grind just never ends."

Adam shot his heat vision to knock the gun out of Gao's hands. "Get him!"

As you all went to charge, Gao used a red force field to protect himself. "Destroy them!" he commanded as Perry yelled the same thing.

"Really?" you and Bree asked in unison.

"What? I'm trying to end up on the winning side." Perry shrugged as Leo shot his laser sphere.

You, Adam, Bree, and Chase ducked behind a chair as Leo threw another sphere.

"Gao's controlling him." Chase informed, referring to Leo.

"Wait. I have an idea." Bree stated as she walked forward. "Hey, Leo, catch me." Bree disappered as she ended up beside him. "If you..." she disappered once more as Leo threw another sphere. Bree ended right in front of Dr. Gao. "can."

Leo shot his laser sphere as Bree disappeared once more, hitting Gao spot on.

Bree appeared in front of you and the boys as you smiled. "You're a genius, Bree."

Adam gave her a high five as Perry walked over. "Nice work, team. I never doubted you for a minute."

"Lock him up in the back," Chase told Perry pointing at Gao, "and take Leo with you. Now that Gao's out of it, he's not controlling him anymore."

"Got it." Perry nodded as she walked over to Leo. "I haven't seem him look this dazed since he walked in on my yoga class."

"Wonder why?" you asked sarcastically.

Perry then used the Triton App to control Leo. "Come with me, Dooley."

Leo followed Perry as they took Gao out. The whole spacecraft shook as the alarm went off.

"What was that?" Adam asked.

"Something hit us." Chase answered.

You all looked out the window seeing a space pod with Krane inside.

"It's Krane. He's got one of the colony's space pods." Bree informed.

"I'm not a fan, but this guy really commits." Adam stated.

"Yeah, no kidding." you agreed.

Then the spacecraft shook again as Krane kept shooting.

"Man your stations." Chase ordered.

"Oh, now I get a seat up front." Adam rolled his eyes.

"Sit down Adam!" you yelled as you all sat down.

"Alright, lets do this." Chase breathed. "Loading missiles."

Krane kept shooting as the spacecraft shook once more.

"He just blew up the weponds bank. We can't defend ourselves!" Bree informed.

"No, we still have the missile that I just loaded." Chase explained. "Prepare to launch."

"Activating homing system." you stated.

"Target is locked." Adam stated. "Prepare to fire in three, two..."

Krane shot again, making the spacecraft shake.

"He just took out the homing system." you informed. "The computer can't aim the missile without it."

"Then I'm just gonna have to do it myself." Chase stated as he stood, using his bionic scan. "Tracking," Chase held his hand over the button. "Tracking," he waited a moment as he slammed his hand on the button. "Now!"

The missile launched and hit Krane, causing his pod to explode. You jumped up and congratulated Chase as Bree did as well. When he turned to Adam, he gave a small smile in appreciation, fist bumping Adam. "Thanks."

Perry then walked in. "Hey, what's with all the commotion?" she asked walking forward. "Did the big one push another button?" she referred to Adam. "So where do you want me to fly this thing? You know, now that the Earth is gonna be uninhabitable."

"Gao's rocket!" you and Chase stated in unison.

Chase checked the missile as Bree spoke. "It's gonna hit Earth in four minutes, and we don't have anything to intercept it. We can't stop it!"

"I can if I use Mr. Davenport's high-velocity escape suit." Chase informed.

"No, Chase that's too risky." you stated.

"Your body could never withstand the force. You'll be ripped to shreds." Bree explained.

"I'll do it." Adam stated.

"What?" you asked.

"Adam, did you not hear me? You could die." Bree stated.

"My super strength will give me a better chance of survival. I think one casualty versus an entire planet is worth the risk." Adam explained.

"Adam--"

Adam cut Chase off. "Let me do this, Chase. You were right. I need to grow up. And this is my time."

"Okay." Chase agreed.

~~~~~
Once Adam put on the suit, Chase sent him off. You, Bree, Chase, and Perry were all sitting in the front.
"It's gonna be very difficult for you to see when you're traveling that fast." Chase explained. "I'll help you navigate on the comm set."
"I'll montor your vitals." Bree informed.
"Adam, are you ready?" Chase asked.
"Ready."
"Wait. Just in case you don't make it back, I want you to know that you were always my favorite." Perry stated. "But that's not saying much."
"I've located the Doomsday rocket. If you're gonna stop it, you have to match its speed." Chase informed Adam. "Engage thrusters."
Adam was confused not knowing what Chase meant, making you speak. "Turn up the things that make you go faster."
"Got it. Engaging thrusters." Adam stated, as he he activated his thrusters.
"How you doing, Adam?" Bree asked.
"Uh, I think I'm alright. I'm.seeing stars, but that could be because I'm in space."
"We have to hurry." Chase stated. "Increase thrust to 85%." As Adam went faster Chase continued. "Okay, Adam, 95%."
You could hear Adam breathing heavily as Chase instructed Adam to go faster.
Bree then stood. "Chase, his heart rate is going through the roof. I don't think he can take much more."
"He has to try. You okay, Adam?" Chase asked, as Adam said yeah. "Keep going. You're at 100%."
"Chase..." you trailed on.
"Just so you know, it really hurts. I think I'm burning up."
"Push it farther." Chase informed. "You have to go past the limit."
Adam screamed as he spoke. "Guys, if I don't make it--"
"You're gonna make it." Chase stated. "You're almost there."
"Chase, he can't handle it. Make him stop." you ordered.
"Guys, if I don't make it, I want you to know that you're the best family--"
Adam then was cut by static. You stood as you spoke into the comm. "Adam."
"Adam!" Chase called as he stood up abruptly. "Adam!"
You felt as your body stopped moving as you seen his vitals dropping, decreasing at an alarming rate.
"Something's wrong. He's slowing down," Bree informed.
"What? No. Adam! Answer me!" Chase exclaimed.
Perry then stood. "C'mon, big guy, c'mon."
"Adam!" Bree shouted as the beeping slowed at a continuous tone.
"He's gone." Chase said softly.
"No!" Bree shouted, her eyes glazing over as she looked away.
'Whoo! One down! Oh, isn't this great?'
'No! No! This is wrong! He's not suppose to die!'
You closed your eyes, but quickly opened your eyes as you heard the beeping pick up.
"Wait. Wait. Look." Bree pointed to the screen. "He's speeding up again. Adam, can you hear me!"
"Yeah. Yeah, I can hear you. S-Sorry I blacked out for a few, but I'm back."
"We thought we lost you." Chased breathed.
"Yeah, you're not gonna lose me that easily."
You chuckled shakily. "I'm glad you're okay, Adam."
"Yeah. Hey, can you guys hold on a second? I've got some unfinished business to take care of."
'No! He as supposed to die!'
'Not today! He's a fighter!'
"I think I see the rocket. It's pretty close."
"It's about to enter the earth's atmosphere." Chase informed. "We don't have much time. If you can't stop it, the entire planet is toast."
"Oh, I got this."
"You'll have to use your super strength to ram it head on." Chase informed looking at the screen. "The suit should protect you."
"Okay. Here it goes."
You waited a few moments, hearing Adam scream as he rammed the missle head on.
"Adam! Adam, are you there?" Chase asked automatically in concern, not wanting to be another death scare.
"Yeah, I'm here. Guys...I did it!"
You all jumped in excitment, Chase quickly spinning you around. As he let go you turned back to the screen.
"Oh, you, uh...you know that other thing I wanted to do in space? Mission accomplished."
You shook your head smiling, glad that he was alive.
~~~~~

When you all got back to the academy, Chase had deactivated the Trition App on all the colonists. You were just glad that you were back on safe ground and that everything as back to normal.

You were with the Davenport family in the Hydra-loop area as Adam began to speak. "Well, Mr. Davenport, aside from losing your entire space program, I'd say it was a pretty successful trip."

You nodded in agreement as Bree spoke. "Yeah, it's not every day you get to save the world from total annihilation."

"I lost billions." Mr. Davenport cried, as Tasha patted his shoulder as Perry walked in with Dr. Gao.

"Lets go, handsome." Perry stated holding onto Dr. Gao.

"Are you taking him to jail?" Dr. Davenport asked.

"That's what some men call it." Perry shrugged as she began to drag him away.

"Help me!" Dr. Gao shrieked as they both disappered around the corner.

"Well, I'm off too." Tasha smiled as she stood.

"Where are you going?" Mr. Davenport asked.

"Greece." Tasha replied as Mr. Davenport stood, walking towards her.

"Honey, I really don't feel like traveling." Mr. Davenport told her.

"Oh. I didn't say you were going. C'mon Bree and [Name]." Tasha stated as she made her way to the Hydra-loop.

"Opa!" Bree cheered as she ran forward, you following right behind.

"See you losers later!" you shouted over your shoulder smirking.

~~~~~
Greece was actually very fun and beautiful. There were a lot of beautiful sights and the people there were great. You learned a lot about the history and their culture and traditions. You, Tasha, and Bree stayed in Greece for about three days before deciding to head back to the academy. On the flight back to the academy, you were texting Leo and he said that he would stay up and wait for you. You didn't think he would since you wouldn't be arriving till late at night, but than again Leo was full of surprises.
When you and Bree got to the academy around midnight or so, Bree bid you a goodnight as she headed to the living quarters. As you were about to walk to your dorm, your phone buzzed in your back pocket, making you pull it out an answer it. "Hello?"
"Why haven't you eliminated them yet?" Giselle asked.
"I told you before I needed to figure out a plan--"
"It's been months and you still need more time?!"
"You don't understand! I'm the one who's on the mission, not you!" you whispered harshly into the phone.
"Don't you dare speak to me that way. I am your creator, and the one who saved your life! I demand respect, understand!"
"Yes, ma'am." you replied solemnly.
"Good. If you don't do anything soon, I will do it myself, understand?"
"Yes. Just give me a little more time to complete the mission. I just need more time." you explained.
"Your time is almost running out. I suggest you get to it."
The call then ended, causing you to sigh as you stuffed your phone in your back pocket. What were you gonna do?
"Who was that?"
You quickly whipped around to see Leo standing a few feet away from you, in his pyjamas.
"No one important." you answered.
"I don't believe you. Who was that?" he asked, now walking towards you. "No one would call in the middle of the night if it wasn't important. Who was it?"
You knew that he would keep asking and pestering you until he got his answer. You sighed as you played with your fingers. "If I tell you...you promise that you won't freak out and get mad?" You knew that it was a long shot, you knew it was but you couldn't help yourself. He nodded as you gazed around the training area, sighing. "Giselle Victors."
"What?" he asked, barely audible as he took a step back. "Why- why would you..."
"I work for her. I've been working with her for the longest time." you confessed, as Leo shook his head. "Giselle is my creator, but I lied and said that I didn't remember, because it was my mission. My mission was to eliminate you all."
"No, no you're lying." Leo shook his head furiously. "Tell me you're lying."
"Leo...I'm not." you shook your head.
"All this time," he breathed, looking at you, "all this time you...you've been lying?"
"Not everything I said was a lie." you informed, shaking your head.
"What about us?" he asked. "What about Adam, Bree, and Chase? Was everything not true? After all we've been through together? Was that just part of the plan to get close to us?"
"Leo you're my best friend. You always have been. Yes, it was part of the plan but I never wanted to get so close that I would change my mind about the mission but I did. What we have is real." you stated, feeling a lump build in your throat. "You and everyone opened my eyes, and after everything we've been through together I couldn't eliminate you guys. Leo I'm sorry."
Leo ran his hand through his hair, his face showing different emotions. He didn't know how to feel. You looked at him desperately, waiting for him to do something, anything at this point. The thick silence hung heavily in the air, and you felt as if you couldn't breath.
"It's okay." he stated, walking towards you and standing a few feet away from you. "It's okay."
"What?" you asked dumbfounded. "How can you be? How- how--"
"Because what we've been through together." Leo motioned in between you two. "The good, the bad, the ugly...you've changed. From the moment you arrived here I had a feeling that something was off, but I ignored it. But the feeling was there, so I watched you to try and see if you did anything sketchy, but you didn't. As time passed the feeling was still there, but I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to believe that my best friend was the bad guy," he explained as your eyes blurred, "but as more time passed the feeling faded away. But now...to know that I was right, it sucks because I wished that I wasn't."
"Leo I'm sorry," you apologized, your voice wavering, "Leo I am so, so sorry please forgive me."
Leo smiled softly as closed the space in betweem you both, cupping your face. "I forgive you."
He was calm now, and his body was very relaxed. You took a small step back as he dropped his hands. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. Why wasn't he scared? After you told him that you were sent on a mission to kill him.
"You're not scared?" you asked softly.
"Why should I be? It's not like you're gonna hurt me." he replied.
You took a deep breath as you looked out the window, seeing the moon reflecting against the ocean waves. "How can you be so sure?"
"Because if you really wanted to, you would've done it a long time ago. Are you really that slow?" he asked with a smile.
"You're an arrogant brat you know that?" you asked, wiping your eyes quickly as he chuckled softly.
Leo was smart. He was able to figure out the Davenport's enemies before anyone could. He was able to pick up on things and manage to outsmart them before they went after his family. You knew Leo was smart, but you never realized how smart.
"You know that they are going to have to find out, right?" Leo questioned, referring to the Davenport family.
"I know. I'll tell them," you breathed, "just, just not right now. I need some time."
He nodded. "You're gonna have to tell them soon. Now, it's late so I think we both deserve some sleep."
You nodded and took Leo by surprise by hugging him. "Thank you."
He smiled as he wrapped his arms around you. "Anytime."
