 Waking up the next morning was hell. I had another dream, similar to the one before, but this time people with wings were in it. These dreams are getting out of hand, and I don't know how to fix it.

My shower is hot but brief, because I slept in just a bit. I have a feeling that school is going to be awkward and weird today. I'm not sure how bad the building is or if I'm in trouble.

I make my way to the kitchen, I need to talk to Amelia and apologize for last night and how rude I was when she tried to talk to me. It's going to be hella awkward and I'm not sure if she's going to kick me out or not. Not only did I walk away from her but spent the night at a boy's house and probably destroyed the cafeteria.

I hear the boys already eating at the table. I have a feeling Amelia may be mad that I wasn't home to get the boys food. I'm sure when she found out about what happened, she stayed home with them but I'm not sure.

"Hey sweetie, how was your sleep?" Amelia asks me and I backtrack. Why is she not mad?

"It was good. I wanted to apologize for acting the way I did last night and for not coming home yesterday." I tell her, playing with my fingers and looking down. Surely, she's upset.

"It's completely okay dear, I understand everything that happened yesterday. I'm glad you went with a friend after the fight, it probably helped you quite a bit." She says and I frown. Does she know about Ace and what he is? The way she is talking doesn't sound like she does, but you never know.

"You're not mad at me?" I ask her in a small voice and she walks up to me and gives me a small hug.

"No, I'm not mad at you at all. Now, you need to get to school. You weren't suspended or anything, the other girl got in a lot of trouble, so don't worry about seeing her for a while." Amelia says as she cleans up the boy's mess.

"Okay, I will for sure be home tonight!" I yell to her as I'm walking out the door, but quickly stop when she grabs my hand.

"Happy birthday Adina. Don't worry about coming home, you're going with Mia and Mason to the mall, remember?" She smiles and walks back inside the house and I think to myself for a minute.

What if what Ace told me is true, and something bad really does happen? He could just be crazy. Whatever, I'm not going to worry about it right now, I'm going to have a good day, with no fights or anything crazy. Today will be fun.

When I get to school, I see Mia and Mason as soon as I open the front door. They both run up to me, and I brace myself for the impact. Mia is the first one to me and she yells in my ear, "Happy birthday bitch!"

I laugh, and try and push her off.

"I'm only 18 man, not that big of a deal." I tell her and she gasps.

"It's the biggest birthday you've had yet! Your 21st birthday will be the biggest one but this is the first big one. I don't know if that made any sense." I laugh and Mason slaps my head.

"Hey you little fucker, that hurt." I whine and rub he back of my head.

"You need to be more excited! Your 18. A legal adult!" He looks at Mia and winks at her, his action makes me raise my eyebrow.

"Hey now, what was that little wink you gave Mia? If you don't tell me, I'm going to murder both of you and add you to the collection of bodies I have in my backyard." I threaten them, but they just smile.

"You will find out later, we gotta go to class! See you later!" Mia says as her and Mason take off, leaving me behind. I groan to myself and flip them off. I turn around to get to my class, but someone is standing in front of me. Ace.

"Can I help you?" I ask him, as I try to walk around him.

"You have to be careful today, I can already feel it and its not good." He says and I roll my eyes.

"Look, I know that you want me to be careful, but you're acting like I'm going to willingly go with some angels or something. All I'm doing today is school and the mall. So, if you could get off my ass a little, that would be nice." I smile sweetly at him, and he looks like a fish out of water.

I quickly walk past him, and go to my first class. I'm getting really tired of him acting like I'm going to kill myself on accident or something. I'm ready for the end of the day.

Soon enough, school is over and I'm being tortured at the mall.

"Adina, you need to not be so tense and boring! Let's have fun, and go get some ice cream from DQ or something." Mason says and I slap his arm.

"I know you did not just call me boring?!" I half yell at him and he puts his hands up in a surrender motion.

"I um, no?" he says and giggles awkwardly. "Mia, can I get some help here before she kills me?" He says and she laughs.

"No, you got yourself into this mess by calling her boring. I'm going to go get some Boba though. See you later bitches!" She calls out and Mason looks like he wants to take back everything he said about me being boring. Of course, I'm playing with him, but this is extremely fun.

"Okay, lets go get some new clothes or something." I tell him and he nods quickly.

"Yes, sounds great, anything but you killing me." He skips ahead of me, heading to Ross. He knows me so well, Ross is my favorite place to buy jeans.

I send Mia a quick text, telling her we are at Ross and to meet us here when she's done.

Mason and I look through the many rows of jeans, and I pick out five pairs that I absolutely love.

"You know, that Ace kid is pretty cute, and it was hot when he carried you out of the cafeteria yesterday." Mason says randomly and I almost choke on my own spit. Yes, Ace is hot and sexy and everything else, but he is crazy.

"Mason, how bad do you want to die?" I ask him nicely and he stutters.

"I, um, it was just my opinion. You know, I wasn't suggesting you should go out with him.... or something." At that, he runs away and leaves me alone to look at the jeans.

Looking around the store, I notice something strange. A man in a black suit was staring directly at me. I look away from him, to avoid eye contact, and I try to ignore him.

"Hey! Those are cute!" Mia says and makes me jump. I don't know what made me so jumpy but whatever it is, it's digging into my skin.

"Mason picked them out, believe it or not." I laugh and she nods.

"yeah, he's always had an eye for cute girl clothes." She starts going through the clothes with me, occasionally picking something out and showing it to me before putting it back up.

After about ten minutes of doing this, Mason comes back from wherever he was at.

"We should hit Forever 21 after this place." He says and Mia squeals.

"Yes! Dear brother of mine, take these to checkout while Adina and I go to the bathroom." She says and shoves the clothes into his arms. He doesn't say anything back, probably scared of being smacked, and I follow Mia to the bathroom, which is only a few stores down.

"So, mind telling me what's bothering you?" She asks me and I frown. Is it seriously that obvious?

"Nothing man, I'm just enjoying myself. We haven't done this in a long time." I tell her and she smiles.

"Your right! We need to do this more often." I smile as she does her skip walk. We get to the bathroom, and I wait outside for her so I don't hold up the line. I don't need to go, but I know Mia hates walking alone.

I look at my phone for a second and she receives a message from a number I don't know, before I can read it, a blast from behind me knocks me off my feet. I hear screaming coming from all over the place, but the ringing in my ears are louder.

I try to look around but my eyesight is covered in black dots. The air is filled with thick, black smoke. This was not supposed to happen. Ace was right.

I feel hands grabbing onto me, but I don't feel anything, I can't move. Closing my eyes, I let whatever happens, happen.

"Adina? Can you hear me? I need you to open your eyes." I recognize that voice. I open my yes for a split second and see Ace standing over me. I can't keep my eyes open for long, but I got a look at what had happened. It looks like half the mall exploded or something.

I close my eyes one last time, and let the dark surround me, everything else just fading away.
