It didn't take long to find a car considering a junk yard was right next to the shop. The only tricky part was to find a working one. This time instead of a nicer car, we have a rusty, old ford pickup truck.

Ace said Adian is in California but the Unknown part of Cali. Everything looks so normal. I see people on the streets, cars, and normal towns with children at parks. From where we are now, Cali is roughly 14 hours away. Ace says we are safe for now. Saying angels and demons can't track us while in the Unknown.

For around two hours, I've been staring out the window imagining how all of this is going to end. I want Mia safe but the closer we get, the more scared I become. Ace said that Adian is the way into hell, meaning when we find him, we will be on the last step to saving her.

I close my eyes and think about all fun times her and I have had and how bad I want them back

Flashback:

"Adina come on! We have to get Mason back." I laugh hard as her and I run to the living room to catch Mason. I watch his eyes widen as we get closer to him, trapping him in the corner.

"Payback bitch!" Mia screams and attacks him, making him scream like a girl which makes me laugh harder. I clutch my stomach as I watch Mia slapping her brother and using the bottle of perfume she had in her hands, making him gag.

"Help me Adina, this is pure torture." He begs me and I just laugh at him.

"This is what you get for scaring us." I tell him and he groans. Mia looks back at me and laughs.

Seeing Mia smile was one of the best things. She has the most perfect teeth and her laugh was loud. Her laugh was one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder. Oh, how I miss it.

I smile to myself thinking about the memory. Tears began to form in my eyes, besides Mason and my new family, Mia was the closest person to me. Her and I were one of those best friends that did everything together no matter what.

I wipe the single tear that fell on my sleeve, trying to hide it from Ace. I don't know if he saw or if he just wanted to do it but he grabbed my hand and held it between his.

We don't say anything for a while, we just enjoy the music that's playing on the old radio. I enjoy his hand holding mine and I think he does too. We drive into a nice town that has many stores and restaurants to eat at.

Just at the right moment, my stomach grows, making Ace laugh.

"Do you want to stop and get some dinner?" He asks me and I nod, even though we have snacks in the bag.

"That would be nice, yes. Are you sure it's safe?" I ask him. I would hate to be in another fight today. I am not physically or mentally ready for one yet.

He pulls into a small dinner that smells so good. As soon as I open my door I can smell the sweet flavor of something I don't recognize.

"Do we have any money?" I ask him and he pulls out a wallet from the bag. He must have put that in there with the other things.

I hear some cat calls from a group of men who are sitting in the tailgate of a truck. I roll my eyes and ignore them. Ace grabs my hands which makes me blush. I didn't think he would do this in public, I don't even know why he is doing it period. I love it.

When we walk in, the bell goes off and a short girl who looks to be around our age comes up to us.

"Congratulations! You are the 1 millionth couple to come in!" She squeals excitedly and confetti goes everywhere. I see her pull out a camera. I laugh hard, throwing my head up when I get a look at Ace's face. He looks horrified, but chuckles when he sees how hard I'm laughing.

The girl takes a picture of us and the clapping that I didn't notice goes down. Neither Ace or I protest when she continues to say how cute of a couple we are. I don't want to correct her, and it seems that neither does Ace.

It's funny to think that when him and I first met, he ran away. Here we are hand in hand walking to our table. When we get seated in, facing each other, the girl hands me the picture. I smile when I see it. My head up while laughing and Ace is looking down at me smiling.

"You two get free food so order anything you want." Our waitress tells us and Ace says thank you.

I end up getting a burger with a side of a salad. Ace gets the same as me minus the salad. The amount of junk food surprises me because he is so fit but I haven't seen him eat health at all this entire time.

"Well this was something new wasn't it." He asks and I giggle.

"I thought it was cute."

"Of course, you did."

The girl brings us our food and we both dig in. I moan as the greasy food fills my mouth. I missed burgers so much. Mia, Mason and I would always go to the local burger place in our town.

I hear Ace chuckle, but I don't bother to look at him, too busy munching on my food.

"Oh my goodness this is so good." I finally say. He nods his head in agreement, his mouth filled with his burger. It takes about ten minutes to finish all the food, then we decide to get milkshakes considering its free food.

Ace gets strawberry and I get vanilla. I feel his eyes on me when I start drinking mine. The sweet vanilla flavor fills my mouth and I sigh when it's all gone. This place is amazing.

I look at him and see that he has a little bit of milkshake on his lips. I have the urge to kiss it off but I push it down. I can't fall for him. I think it's too late for that.
