Emily Fay is a doctor who works in New Orleans, and who is also a witch. She was approached by Marcel Gerard one day, and he tells her that Kol Mikaelson has been put in a sleeping spell by some witch. 

Emily does not care about who she's taking care of, or who she's helping with her powers. She believes that everyone deserves an equal chance, therefore, when she finds out that Kol Mikaelson needs her help, she barely gives it any thought. Emily also has specific powers that are in regards to using ice. 

In the past, her coven had wanted to abuse the powers that she had. They believe that she was someone special, which she was. The coven's beliefs even had gotten to her parents, and there was nothing she could do about it. Therefore, she ran away to New Orleans. She was looking to lay low, and practice abilities whenever she could.

When the Mikaelson's find out that Emily is the only person who can speak to Kol by getting into his mind, they realized that they need her help, because they wanted their brother back no matter what. Through the ability of Emily's to enter Kol's mind had become a method to bond him.

Thus, their relationship grows. 

Though, what happens when Emily's coven threatens to take her away, using her as a sacrifice to gain more power. Will Kol and the Mikaelson's to be able to stop it, will Kol and Emily be able to get their happily ever after?
