"Kol?" Emily had asked into his room. 

It was late at night, and she was not able to sleep. She wanted to, most definitely, but sleep was just not coming to her.

Her mind had kept moving to the way that Kol had spoken about her as if they were in love. That was not even close to the case that was happening. Instead, they hadn't spoken much out of his mind, only that one conversation after she had gotten a visit from her mother.

"Yes, Angel?" Kol had responded. 

He did not know why she was here, but he had an inkling as to why. He was ready to face these kinds of questions since he had never expressed himself this way around Emily up until now. 

It was difficult, they both had no idea of the feelings that they had for each other, and thus it was getting increasingly difficult to hide their feelings.

"We need to talk," Emily said to Kol. 

She wanted everything out in the open, but she did not know if she was ready to face whatever Kol was going to say to her. She was not ready, that much was evident. 

After explaining to him her life story, and telling him about why the coven was really after her, Emily was just drained. 

She wanted to go into an eternal sleep and never wake up, but she knew that this would not happen any time soon. 

Emily looked to be exhausted and thus, Kol could tell that she needed rest at the moment more than ever. Therefore, he replied,

"Not today Angel, you need rest," Kol stated. 

He was not avoiding the conversation, he knew it was inevitable, but her health mattered more to him. 

Therefore, Kol had grabbed Emily's arm, and he was dragging her to his bed. Since he was awake now, he would always stay with her. 

In his mind, this was the safest option for Emily, to be with him at all times.

"Kol what are you doing? I can go to my room and sleep there," Emily spoke. 

She really did think that she could sleep in her own room, but Kol was not having it. Therefore, Kol had shaken his head, and he had responded,

"I am awake now, and I intend to spend every moment that I am awake with you," Kol responded. 

What he had said had made Emily blush.

Then, the two of them had laid down together, comforted by each other's warmth.
