6 - Forces
When I awoke, I saw that Socks was no longer next to me. I looked around until I saw him in the kitchen, wiping dust off the counter with a wet towel.
"Socks, I said I'd do that, you don't have to," I grumbled as I sat up. Socks looked at me and shrugged.
"Least I could do to help you out right now," Socks said.
"I feel like literally reviving me from the dead is already a lot," I chuckled.
"True."
We stood in silence for a moment before I asked,
"By the way, do you know when the next Blood Moon is?"
Socks thought for a moment before saying, "Next Wednesday, I believe. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, no reason. Just curious," I said.
So I have six days before that voice said I needed to be at the church. I'll keep that in mind.
Something. Some invisible force. It started to mentally pull me to the door.
"I'll be back," I said, headed for the door.
"Why? Is something wrong?" Socks asked.
"No, nothing," I said, "I just need some fresh air, is all."
Socks shrugged. "Alright. Want me to come with you?"
"No, I'm good. Thanks for asking though," I said.
Before he could say another word, I was out the door.
