"𝕳ow are you faring?" There was a call from behind Coren, as the man pulled his dark eyes away from the ocean to look back at his queen. Daenerys was walking over, the start of a teasing smile playing on her lips as Coren cocked an eyebrow. "Staring for sea monsters in the water?"

"Aye, I've got to make sure that I can help to protect our fleet." Coren nodded in response, as a screech sounded near them, Falkor diving past to pull a fish from the sea, roast it and then disappear once more. His brothers mimicked him as Coren put his fingers to his lips and whistled. "Though I think these scaly beasts will scare them off. It would be good food, wouldn't it, Falkor?"

The largest of all four dragons came to a stop beside Coren, taking the food from the man's hand and waiting for attention. Daenerys smiled, patting her dragon's hide even though the red beast normally stayed with Coren more than her.

"He's taken to training well."

"Yes, I think he was getting bored earlier on, hence the misbehaving." Coren and Daenerys admired the ruby red dragon with molten gold eyes, who had taken to biting at people and snatching food from your hands like a persistent sea bird. Thus, Coren had begun to train the dragon, as if he were a dog, seeing if the mental stimulation would help.

It had.

"I'm trying to teach him how to dive on command." Coren mused, both of them becoming engrossed in their conversation about the dragons. "I feel, if he continues to grow, the use of dive in particular in battle would be beneficial. That and roll."

"Roll? You are going to teach Falkor to roll?" Daenerys stared at him, eyes wide. "He is not a dog."

"No, but a 200 foot dragon rolling and crushing enemies would be useful." Coren pointed out, shrugging. "I know they sound like basic tricks but each one, with the right training could be used in battle, to conquer Westeros when the time comes. He is clever enough to learn."

"All of them are."

"Falkor is the most intelligent." Coren corrected, patting the dragon with a grin. "It is something about the golden eyes. He knows more."

"You can not have favourites."

"I beg to differ." Daenerys raised an eyebrow as Coren grinned. "They are not my children, so I can have favourites and mine is Falkor."

"Do not say that in front of the others. They will grow jealous."

"My attention is something to be jealous over." Coren winked as Daenerys looked away from him briefly, her cheeks turning slightly red. "But they will live. They have your attention to fight over instead. As most do."

"People fight over my attention?"

"Oh yes. I do all the time."

"With who? There are not many others on this ship."

"Ser Jorah." Coren replied, before shaking his head and laughing as Daenerys smacked his arm. "What?"

"Do not say things like that. You are insinuating." Daenerys shook her head at the two and twenty year old, who was still laughing. "This is why you infuriate most."

"Aye, but it is one of my most redeeming qualities." Coren explained, before shifting his grip on his sword. "Off you go, Falkor."

The dragon screeched once more, soaring off to join his siblings. The pair grew silent once more, before Daenerys sighed. Coren picked up on it, nudging her shoulder gently with his.

"Yes?"

"What's on your mind?"

"I wish they would grow a little faster. I am worried for Astapor. What happens if we need them and they are not big enough."

"They are dragons, Khaleesi, they'll grown when they need to grow." Coren replied. "You'll have us for Astapor, or more importantly, I will be there and I shall make sure that we are alright."

"They say the Unsullied are the greatest slave-soldiers in the world. I do not like it. I do not like being part of this." Daenerys whispered. "It is not good. It does not sit right with me."

"I know." Coren agreed. "I do not know what else to suggest. You need soldiers, and this is not the best course of action, I agree, but I do not know what other course of action to suggest."

"Neither do I. Ser Jorah believes that it is the right one. Is it?" Coren pulled a face, before shrugging his shoulders. "It is too late anyway. We'll arrive by nightfall and I do not think that the Dothraki will fare well on another trip on the ocean."

"No, neither do I." Coren agreed, before sighing. "What does Ser Jorah think?"

"Whenever I talk to him as of late, we end up arguing about little things."

"He is a cranky man, is he not?" Coren laughed, as Daenerys shook her head.

"You two are such opposites..."

"Aye, I am younger and far more handsome."

"Cocky and arrogant would be what I called it." Daenerys teased in response as Coren let out a bark of laughter, his head tilting back as Daenerys snickered quietly to herself. "How did the two of you meet? Was it after...Pardon, that is rude of me to ask."

"After my mother's death?" Coren shrugged. "No, I met him after my sister died. He found me a few weeks later scrounging for scraps in an alley. I recognised the Westerosi accent, and he allowed me to follow him. From there, he trained me and that was how I met him. He saved me from the gutter."

"I am glad he saved you."

"I know. Could you imagine, he would be your only guard! You would be praying for another version of me, I would have to swoop in and save you." Daenerys smacked his hand again as Coren smiled down at her.

"I am being serious."

"I know."

They fell silent for a moment, before Daenerys nudged him gently.

"I am glad that you are my personal guard."

"I am wonderful, you can keep going. My ego likes being stroked." Coren joked, leaning on his arms to turn and look at her. Daenerys had a hand over her eyes, shaking her head and Coren took that time to admire the glow that her hair seemed to have in the sunlight and the way her lips curled into an amused smile despite her disappointed mannerisms.

"Some would assume your house words are arrogance above all else."

"No, no. Close, but not quite."

"Yes, I know your house words are loyal to blood."

"Precisely." Coren grinned, before looking up at the city that was starting to appear ahead of them. "I'll take the same approach here, should anyone give you any trouble."

"They'd be a fool to do that when you are stood next to me." Coren hummed in agreement. "Or my dragons."

"Are you saying that I hold the same threatening aura as the dragons?" Daenerys merely shook her head and walked away, Coren's laughter echoing in her ears. "Khaleesi! I heard that! Come on, tell me it is true."
