Memory

I was at Carl's house after school, just like an normal day. Carl and I sat in the living room, I was trying to make him feel better. The day had been traumatic, but we were unaware just how traumatic it was going to be.

"Carl, your dad is going to be fine, he's a strong man." I said,trying my best to help him.

"How can you be sure?" Carl's eyes watered a bit.

I patted his head. "I just know ok."

Carl smiled slightly.

That was all so long ago, we would laugh and smile, but that changed in an instant.

Timeskip

Carl and I sat in Dale's RV talking with Sophia, Carol's daughter.

"So, your family, do you know what happened to them?" Sophia said out of the blue.

I looked down at my lap. "They left me." I bit my quivering lip.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to..."

I cut her off with a smile. "It's fine, my dad was abusive, my mom was a drug addict with schizophrenia, and my sister, Catlin would always beat me up and treat me like dirt. The only one I really miss is my brother, Cisco."

Sophia looked at me with pity in her eyes.

I stood up and went out the RV door. "I'm going to go to bed." I shut the door and went into the tent that Carl, Lori, and I share. A few seconds later the RV door opened, Carl.

"I'm going to bed too." Carl said walking over to the tent.

I was already in my sleeping bag. I was crying.

"Y/N are you ok?" Carl asked me sitting down next to me. I wiped the tears from my face.

"I'm fine, just tired." I lied.

Carl took a deep breath. "You have always been the worst liar." Carl said pulling the hair out of my face.

"Yeah I know." I turned away from him. "I'm going to sleep now." I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
