** Third Person's P.O.V **

It was a new day, a fresh start and a new beginning. Leaving Muffet's headquarters and onto the mansion was quite obnoxious for the traffic was very busy and tedious. It was no problem for Y/n as she looked out the window whilst listening to her favorite playlist of songs on loop. Staring out into the busy crowd, she jumped to different faces of the pedestrians crossing the street out of wonder and boredom. Her e/c eyes trailed to the swarm of people rushing out of the mall across her window as they carry their grocery bags whilst catching a cab to bring them home.

The streets were packed with people all sizes, and all ages. She glanced at her digital clock in the screen of her phone.

12:01 PM, 3/14/1X it read.

She sighed tiredly, looking back at the window with sheer boredom filling her tired eyes. Eyes wandering to person to person, she decided that it was best if she slept, and besides, this playlist she was listening to helped her effectively get through sleep.

Eyes drooping slowly, she was out like a light.

-

Meanwhile in the mansion.

“She's back? How?” Was the frequent question now being asked. The whole dining room was filled with chatter, Alphys almost screamed her head off by the simple information. “Y/N, Y/NNNNNNN—” Undyne covered her mouth before she goes on a rampage, softly soothing her quietly to calm down. Undyne wasn't like this with everyone but Alphys is an exception.

“QUIET! ALL OF YOU!”

Silence, silence filled the room. Gaster waited a few minutes and began to speak up. “Yes, Ms. Trainer is coming back and she is being accompanied by Mrs. Toriel. Now, before we go back to our respective stations, we have an important meeting regarding her kidnapping.” Gaster states in a smooth and calm voice. Everyone nods in agreement.

Tension filled the silence when they waited for the two to arrive.

It wasn't only time before they arrived, the door made a creaking sound which was enough to break the very tension filled silence. Toriel was the first to enter, then came in Y/n.

They both noticed the tension in between all of them. She looked around, glancing at their faces. It was only time when she glanced at Sans’ general direction that she could see his glare boring holes onto her skull. She looked away quickly, knowing very well why he is acting like that, but not all of it, she may or may not will confront him with his behavior towards her and will probably do the same to Asriel, seeing as he's feeling the same thing.

‘What's wrong with these two. What's with me that they don't like??’ you thought to yourself but your train of thought was immediately taken away when you hear someone calling your name. You perked up, calling the person back as you flushed a soft pink tint. “Come sit down.” You nodded your head vigorously in embarrassment, speed walking to your seat, your head hung low in shame while your hair covers your already flushed face.

“Okay, May we discuss?” You nodded your head knowing that you won't get out of this.

...Several minutes later after the discussion, a few people were fuming in rage and anger. One of which was the people against her, and you know very well who they are.

“IS SHE C R A Z Y?! WHY—” Undyne forcefully slammed her clawed hand onto the dining table with a loud ear-splitting bang. “Wow, nice move, what do you think you're gonna do now? Assassinate her Father and then happily ever after? Great.” Asriel mocked, sarcasm dripping from his voice as he leans on his right hand whilst shooting Y/n a disgusted look.

“Doesn't seem like Muffet is convincing enough, she may have made that up in order to for you to fall into her trap. What an idiot, I couldn't imagine anyone more stupid.” Sans exclaims, his deep voice dripped with mockery, hate, spite and sarcasm. He really does joke a lot doesn't he? Y/n's head snapped towards his direction in offense. “Excuse me? In what way that allows you to say something so trivial? There's nothing made up in the deal that we agreed upon.” You spat, hands clutching the skirt of your uniform, trying so hard not to get up and punch him.

“In every way, kid. You're stupid enough to agree that you forgot her background and past. Didn't she take your parents away?” That was jab right through the heart, he got Y/n where he wanted her.

You sat still, frozen. Eyes focused on the tiled floor beneath her. Memories flashed before her. The memory of their kidnapping, the memory before that, the memory of her brother, the memory of her being kidnapped for an experiment, the memory of her escape, the memory of her adoption and the memories she had until now flashed before her.

“Finally understand why you're so stupid?”

That did it, one final memory fflahsed.

The memory of her failed birthday struck her the most. Tears already started to form on the corners of her eyes. “SANS! THAT IS ENOUGH!” Toriel stood up swiftly, her chair reared back with an audible screech. She rounded the table to your seat but you already stood up.

You sped walked away from the dining room and ran outside. Remembering the special day where it ruined her life was where it her the most, it was really painful.

It was really painful because her birthday happens to be today. Running around the halls, not caring where her legs will lead her to, she eventually came outside the house to a place which appeared to be the back garden. Her legs shook as she dropped down onto the harsh ragged stone pavement in behind a fountain. She was well hidden for she was covered in bushes and greenery.

Placing her arms on the fountain seat, she buried her face onto it and cried silently.

-

“Sans! That has gone too far!” Toriel scolded, her face red and pointing an accusing finger towards his direction. “So what? She deserved it.” He rolled his eyes, not caring. “Sans!” The said skeleton shot her a look, he immediately regretted it.

“DIDN'T YOU LISTEN?! I WAS THE ONE WHO AGREED TO IT NOT HER!!”

Silence filled the whole room, followed by tension and awkwardness. Toriel faltered, her facial expression no longer angry, her body movements slowed, and slumped.

“I was the one who got us into this mess.” She muttered under her breath. Asgore then grabbed Toriel out of the room and lead them towards a private place for Toriel to rest. She seemed too tired to say anything now, as for Sans. He sat there dumbfounded, he stared at the wall blankly.

A screech of a chair pushed back snapped people away from their thoughts, Alphys left the room and slammed the door hard on the way out. Papyrus rounded the table towards his brother's seat, squeezing his shoulder and saying good luck then left the room with a soft click.

Undyne followed, head hung low. Asriel did the same, his fedora hid his green eyes.

The door then burst open, the door almost torn down it's hinges. There, stood the shiny and obnoxiously loud human calculator. “WHAT'D I MISS?!” She yelled at the top her lungs, excitement, and joy filled her voice as she said it.

Sans and Gaster glanced at each other then to Mettaton then to each other and then to Mettaton.

“OH COME ON, DARLINGS, SPEAK UP WILL YOU?!”

...

Meanwhile with Y/n.

She was still bawling her eyes out, but not severely, she has calmed and toned her crying down. Broken tired eyes wandered around the back garden. It was beautiful, she sighed.

Burying herself back onto her arms, she heard leaves crunching as if someone was walking on them, the crunching increased in volume like someone was walking towards her. She didn't look up knowing that it was probably Alphys or Toriel coming over to comfort her.

She expected their hugs, soft pats on the back and hushed whispers telling her that it would be okay but all she got was silence. That didn't sound right. She didn't look up for she didn't want to look like she knows someone was there.

“I know you're not crying or sleeping either.” Sans' deep voice called out as leaned against a tree. Y/n tensed visibly, trying so hard not to bawl out and cry again. “Look, I'm sorry. I know I'm an a$$hole, a jerk and an idiot. I was angry, I knew that she kidnapped your parents and took it out on you.” He glanced at her, keeping that she's squirming.

“Just hear me out, ‘kay? The reason why I'm like this is because my Dad promised me that I'd be the future hitman of the mafia. Asriel would be the future hitman too. When I was told so, I was ecstatic and really happy that I was going to serve my own family.” Sans' voice lowered to an octave, watching the sky's colours blend into one another to create a very beautiful picture.

“Until, Muffet came along, stole our wealth. My dad was angry, he took it all out by capturing innocent children and experimenting on them. Trying to find the best test subject to use to kill Muffet. Of course, you were the best one but you escaped and lived. Now, you came along, set a deal and became the hitman of the mafia.” His curious blue eyes wandering to Y/n less tense figure.

“When you became the hitman, I never felt this much rage in my whole entire life. I knew my father was still mad but he promised me, and I thought he'd never break it. Heh, it's what they say, promises are made to be broken not made. Knowing about actions back there, I knew I was the stupid one here not you.” He slightly smiled, his shoulders feels so weightless after keeping his anger all to himself this whole time.

“Thanks for opening up to me..” Sans snapped his head towards her direction, she was no longer huddled up but her body slumped and her hands were on he lap. Her voice soft and calm.

“I forgive you..” She looked up to Sans with a warm smile. Sans returned the gesture, he then approached her and pinched her cheek. “OWW, a$$hole! That hurt!” She rubbed her cheek, pouting at him. “I can't help it, you look so cute when you smile.” He laughed, pinching the other cheek, Y/n tried to swat his hands away but it was no use.

“Hey, Y/n.”

“Yeah?”

“Happy Birthday.”

“Aww, than—”

*pinches cheek*

“HEY! STOP, YOU'RE DOING THAT ON PURPOSE!!”

“HAHAHA!”
