Three. depression

Sam Uley had never heard such screams of power, despair. On patrol he had come to a abrupt pause in running, the dust forming in particles which enters his snout, ignoring the irritation the dirt was causing. His ears flick back, flattening to his furry scalp, a howl leaves him. his front hackles bending down, in an attempt of fighting to submit to the power, as a force overcomes him.

'Did either of you boys, also, hear that scream?' He opens the packs mind channel, searching in a haste.

'Dude, that scream made me want to cover my ears. But also it is so heartbreaking. Sad. I never heard such a sound before come from a human.' Jared Cameron, loyal member of the Uley pack, notes. a whine noise noticed in the way he speaks.

'I agree with Cameron, Sam. Something just doesn't feel or seem right. I bet you five dollars it was one the leeches doing.' Paul Lahote, hot headed third in command and newest volatile wolf to join the pack, using a bad tempered tonality of hate, says in disdain. 'I knew they would be the first to break the treaty.'

'Enough, Paul. We do not know enough to make that assumption, it could be a human lost in the trail being attacked by a cougar. Either way I need you, and Jared, to return back to the pack house. I will be the one to go investigate the source.' Sam gave his order, Paul and Jared couldn't disobey he is the alpha.

Both wolves gave disgruntled grumbles, rushing back in the way of the reservation. out of sight, Sam begins prancing in the depths of the forest towards the direction where he heard the sound. The treaty line was nullified to Sam, crouching then bounding up over the river. thunderous clamouring of paws reiterate, as he moves his head on every side of glooming, dreary dense woods.

His eyes reflect over a bright illumination of light, blinding white. There is something that lures him to where it shines, a feeling he did not know how to elucidate in a sentence. 'Just follow your instinct.' there is a unknown presence he was unfamiliarised with. 'Help, protect him. Save him.' That is what he does.

The strong scent, overpowering enough to have Sam come to a complete stop. And where he finally notices him. Malachi couldn't conjure the energy to stand, open his eyes. positioned on a right angle leaves tangling in his hair. He was conscious enough, knowing he was not forsaken; alone.

" did you come back, Edward?" sam feels devastate, knowing this was implementation done in the act of a Cullen. Paul was right.

Phasing out of his wolf body, now having only wearing neutral coloured Khaki shorts, his frown grows. ' I knew those Cullens were not going to uphold their promise. In not harming a human.' He didn't care for Jared or Paul hearing his open communication and thought.

Using his strength, Sam with no issue, begins carrying the boy.

'Sam. Sam! I just got news concerning the bloodsuckers- Cullens. They left, sam. That boy, his name's Malachi. Chief swan began a search and rescue, looking for him. Emily just informed Jared and I.' Paul repeats the information gave to him by Emily young, imprint and fiancé of sam. 'Jacob is there, too.'

Bella wanted nothing but to run, with no reluctance, in the forest. Malachi had been confirmed missing for going on six hours. Every fibre of her brain was immediate to put blame on Edward, she should have never let Kai go 'talk'. " when I get my very alive hands on Edward." She talks to no one, unclenching her hand. Police radio scanners feedback is heard, they talk of furthering the area casing.

" I will try to call the Cullens house, again. Bella spoke of Edward and Kai going for a walk, only no specification was told. We might have missed a area." Charlie is pored, hovering over a blueprint map lay out of the Olympic peninsula. There was thousands of acres, he could be miles away. Billy, knowing better, shares a glance with Harry Clearwater.

A elder of the Quiluete tribe, another friend of Charlie's. " the Cullens, they left town Charlie." This has Charlie stare at his friend, just hearing of the departure, the phone ringing out. 'The number you have dialled has disconnected or the user has changed it.' there is a female robotic message machine who answers. " Good riddance." Harry says, showing an accent indication of relief.

" where would they go?" Is now Charlie's question. " Doc Cullen got a bigger job, promotion, out of town somewhere." Harry places a comforting touch to his friends body. " he will be found, Charlie."

" Malachi!"

Bella, along with Jacob, shouts. Sam appears out of the dark shadows of the night, Malachi using his body in support to not fall. He had convene enough energy, assuring he did not wish to have help. he walked; a heave in how drags his feet. Charlie, never the one to move fast before, is not far in his steps behind Bella and Jake.

" he is fine. I found him unresponsive, coming out from a delusion. He appears to have cried from his puffed red eyes.'

Sam, wanting in avoiding any accolades, does one step away when Malachi is removed. His arms are circled over each of bella and Jakes necks. " oh, Kai. What did he do to you." She makes a point in removing a leaf, swear in hearing 'Edward' come from his lips. " why were you out all the way there? you had me, char-dad, Jake worried."

Townsfolk volunteering in the search begin whispering creating a space, to access the path leading to Charlie's house. Bella gives a nod of thanks, when Jake unlocks the front door. Malachi stared, blank of expression, to the worn soles of his boots.

Edward was gone. This was real.

OCTOBER

One month, there was no sound or word that came out of Malachi. Shouts of excitement, the celebrations had begun for Halloween, kids in their chosen costumes roam the street. there was only sorrow, harrowed pain from inside the swan residence.

-

NOVEMBER

thanksgiving, a national holiday celebrating the harvest of past years, was one for the entire family to remember and give thanks. Bob marks, a neighbour, gives a turkey to Charlie for the festive dinner. He inquires of Malachi, his condition, watching the Chiefs face turn somber. It was not good news.

-

'Alice, I don't know how to start this email, I have never been the expert when it comes to the internet or writing a letter. I suppose there is a start for everything. You have disappeared. I'm.. lost, I have no feelings I can express in actual words. When you left, along with .. he, a fragment of who I am, was taken. The absence of him is in everything that I look, stare, at. I don't know what I did wrong in a past life, if I did live once before, to have such heart break deserve.'

Malachi, hands between the space of his knees, a un-blinking gaze, hardens his eyes when the photograph picturing Edward holding him; gingerly, crosses his vision. splinters begin cracking over the frame and form from the force of compression. then it's thrown, to the opposite side of his room.

-

'But in a sense of way. I'm glad of this pain, it reminds me that you. Edward, saying his name even is painful, are; were real.

Amenadiel was ever furious to know of his nephew being left, deserted, to his own in the forest. He knew Lucifer would wreck hell fire over this, causing destruction in his war path to find Edward. it was not quite clear of his fathers motive and message, he knew one assertion, much to the appal of wanting to find and smite the cold one who hurt his blood. He needed to comfort him. It was out of character for the Angel of god wanting to bring harm, to the mate of Malachi, he couldn't help it. no one, alone an undead walking corpse, was allow in hurting him.

Charlie hears three firm knocks come from the door. He wasn't expecting visitors, not of his awareness. Bella exists her bed room taking the few steps to Malachi's, opening and turning the door handle. He was in the same grey shirt, now going on three days.

She begins hearing polite exchange of conversation, one voice is all too accustomed in remembering. 'It's amenadiel. Malachi will be surprised for his visit.'

" Thank you for your invitation in to your home, chief swan. I know my arrival was unannounced." Charlie does a once over of his new guest, he was quite the man with charisma. Clothed in normal civilian fashioned outfit, a grey cotton flannel and jeans. A solid steel silver cross necklace situates on his chest.

" I have been made aware of my nephew, Malachi, living here. that you very kindly and wilfully accepted him in."

" dad. Malachi has spoke of his uncle, before, to us." Bella moves down the steps, of the stairwell. Amenadiel gave a respectful tip of his head, " Isabella. I have heard high regards from my nephew, about you." Not accustom to such formal way of speech, she gives a modest laugh; bashful.

" Uncle amenadiel. Why are you here, in forks?" It was worst then he could imagine, fatigue and lack of sleep had consumed Malachi. An aspect of who he once was perished, replacing him is a canopy, body of gloaming melancholy. eyes sunken; swollen red harsh skin of tear stains, hair dishevelled. 'Nephew what are doing to yourself.'

He arose, giving his arms out in permission for a hug, Malachi openly accepts. running in for the confinement of his uncle.

" he left me. Uncle amen." He could only bring to mutter. Charlie gives a touch of comfort, then gave space for the uncle and nephew. Bella could physically hear her heart begin tearing, at each sound of his crying.

" I came here with a proclamation, an idea. If you will listen, I would like to think and say Charlie and Bella would too." This interests chief swan, including bella. " we should be seated for this." Thankful to have only been standing a few steps from inside the kitchen, he is the first to move and take a place sitting on the comfort of the couch. Bella seats herself beside malachi, Charlie on the reclining chair.

" I want to bring Malachi back home. To Los Angeles, there is a matter of urgency including my mother. She has returned, coming back from a complicated set of circumstances."

" No, I won't leave. Uncle. I.. I don't." Amenadiel furrows both eyebrows. " leaving forks would mean I would be thousands of miles, in distance, away from Bella. She, she has been here in support for me since he.. left. I need her, don't make me leave. Uncle Amen."

Charlie could only wish he used his gun on Edward for how he bought this much hurt to the boy he saw as the son he never had. He inhales, deep and apparent bella had attach her hand to Kai.

" bella can go along to LA, with you and your nephew. Amenadiel was it?"

Bella, visibly shock, checks if her dad was serious.

" D-Dad. are you sure?" Charlie was always the accepting man when it came to those who he loved.

" I wouldn't want to have Bella be far, in another state, from her father. Charlie, I am perfectly fine staying here." This earns a firm shake of the head, from Chief swan. " you need all support, Son. Being surrounded by family, the people who love you, is the best medicine to recover. to heal. I know just how strong of a bond; friendship you and bells share, Kai. I wouldn't want to keep that apart. You go, go be with your family." To make his point, Charlie stands and puts out a hand for Malachi.

" I know you and her need the support of one and other."

Astound of what he is hearing, Malachi accepts the hand shake. Amenadiel shows a boastful sense of gratitude, of how selfless Charlie is. " you better begin packing, Bella. Malachi, you included."
