Six. Malachi's Rage

Christmas. A day where it brings family, friends, and those who celebrate the festive season to open gifts and eat a delicious feast of different prepped meals. But there was nothing positive of the source, it meant the embittered reality and truth. Snow was sticking, a day before Aro would show and his followers.

Charlie was given a five day annual trip down to Fraser river, for his protection. It was better for him. 'At least we made certain he would be away if this all came down. Lives lost.'

Tanya was in distress knowing she couldn't be close to her mate. Kate and myself had made an agreement, if the worst had to happen where if one of us would survive, to reveal the news. Lessen the painful truth. Though making such promises would not end in happiness, just loss.

Reflecting on the past, before moving to forks, I couldn't imagine or begin envisioning a time where I had made the impactful choice that contribute to meeting Edward. birthing Caitlyn. Would my life be this in an alternate reality having no fear of not ever seeing tomorrow.

Jacob carries over fire wood for a bonfire. I had came back after checking to see if Renesmee was warm, inside the tent Bella and Felix brought.

Sue Clearwater, Leah and Seth's mom, was caring for Caitlyn. She is too young, little, to be up in the freezing conditions. Eternally grateful for Sue as I could trust if there is no way out of a potential fight; conflict. Bree was given permission to be on quiluete land for her protection.

A peace of mind knowing she is close to Caitlyn. I explained, the day before, my wishes to Leah needing her to stay behind. Wait for the right moment to show in the field, along side the pack.

Benjamin ignites four of his fingers, fire Pirouetting over the top to each nail. Lighting the fire pit. Jane had never left Adonis side, though she had broken out of her guarded; alerted ambivalence. " excuse me, M-Malachi. Could I talk, alone, with you? It's about my brother. Alec."

'This is a first' I nod, trusting whatever she needed to speak on. We walk a good several feet from camp, Adonis had respected her privacy of wanting to speak alone. I knew there was a chance nothing would be eavesdropped on, for grandpas sake these were vampires with exceptional hearing. Jane, fiddling her grey pea coat, exhales out a shudder.

Eyes moving and not focusing. Genuine terror inside of her expression. " I don't want to fight my brother. if a battle ensues. I have spent many centuries inundated, under, master, I mean Aro's, ruling. He is vicious. Cruel. I fear for Alec. It terrifies me what he most likely has done to improve control."

If she was human I could imagine her tears ricocheting over, down, her cheeks. " Adonis had transport to Volterra, before the minutes  Irina Denali arrived in the castle throne room. I was in a real horrible disagreement, with Alec, over your proclamation lady didyme's life was taken. At Aro's hands, to have control of master Marcus. It all began making sense." I knew untethering her loyalties towards Aro, the Volturi, would have come with great implications.

Felix is an example. " I had never seen my brother stare at me with such hate."

I wanted to give her the tightest of hugs, sounds abnormal to think really knowing months before I used her pain infliction as a use of 'torture'. applying pressure, I give reinforced squeezes in comfort to her shoulder. " there won't be a fight." I was lying to myself here.

" Alec will forgive you. Just see that. You are his sister, siblings who fought always find their way back. But just know, this is not a hundred percent, if I have to I will kill him. It won't be a quick death." Jane flinches at my promise. In an wilful nod and effort of hiding her true feelings. Mournful, sad. Coming to the acceptance of possibly losing her brother. She angles her body to extend her arms around my shoulders, hugging me.

" just please tell him, before you do it, I love him. To be at peace knowing mother waits for us." Adonis, and Paul, ventures over in strides. It was rare to see Adonis associating; start conversations and interacting like a person would have of the sorts. Meaning not just be laconic, not inserting in human occupations.

" Mister Lahote brought these quite delectable cheese flavoured triangular cheese crisps. Doritos they are called. You should try one, Master Malachi." Adonis offers the one hundred seventy gram packet of cheese chips, powder dust setting on his fingers. Paul huffs.

" Man, decker. This hellhound of yours definitely needs to be educated on more food. He's missing out. 'Cause he had zero clue what black, and I, were talking bout. Now I can't get him to stop eating." He grunts, though very much amused he had been involved in Adonis finding food.

Jane touches the buttons to her coat, composing herself. Frowning when noticing her distress, adonis pushes the red package of food to Paul's chest. " what is causing you to be sad, amica mea." He, quick as the wind gusts blows, sped over interlocking her hand in both of his. She nestles her head, deep sadness as whines leave; soft. My heart broke for Jane. It would be gut wrenching, soul breaking if I had to fight family.

Knowing I had to make a decision. 'Just a morbid reminder to reality where none of this is normal.'

Returning back to where our Camp site is, Adonis in hand with Jane stood in place behind Paul and I. As I situate my body down on a snow layered log, he sat down not being able to keep in a snort. The witnesses, friends, stand lifeless. Not moving, it was quite a disturbing delineation and sight to spectate. Jacob is actually, a surprise, friendly towards Benjamin and Tia. " .. war stories. Or stand there like freaking statues." internal laughter enters my mind.

Garrett sped to include himself in the congregation. " Name any American battle. I was there." I guide my knees down on the snow, placing both of hands close to the flames. Ironic how I could control hell fire but still experience the wonders of winter.

" Little Bighorn." Jacob gave his answer. I had learned about the battle during history studies, unpleasant and staggeringly whitewashed to a point my uncle was close to shredding my history textbook.

" I came this close to biting Custer. But the Indians got him first." Garrett clicks his tongue, disappointed. Clara, in a second, sits on his lap. She wore leather and fur winter coat. Grinning at me, wriggling her fingers.

" I have one for you. Oleg's assault on Constantinople. Dad use to tell how uncle Amenadiel involved himself in stopping Oleg from being arrogant. death by his stallion, and crushed."

Kate joins in, wanting to add her own detail.

" you are right with that, C. He didn't do that one on his own." Liam and Siobhan include themselves, as well. " if we are talking wars. You're talking the eleven years' war. No one does a rebellion like the Irish." I am certain enough that was a war lost. Garrett agrees, stroking a hand over Clara's thigh. " you lost the eleven years' war." She, comforted, leans her weight on his body. It was a good sight to see mates reunited, I knew Clara was content.

" Aye. But it was one hell of a rebellion." Liam takes pride in his words, Siobhan had her chin resting in his arm smiling toothlessly.

" When we ruled, everything came to us. Prey, diplomats, favour seekers. Such was our power. But we never put on white hats and called ourselves saints." Vladimir recollects, Stefan had taken stance at his side, deliberate to hold his gaze on Jane; ridiculing her. Adonis is stagnant, staring; in a way he was challenging the Romanian vampire to dare continue taunting. " we were honest about what we were." It made sense for them to expose the truth of vampires. That was an error of judgement. " .. sat still for a very long time. We didn't notice, fail to see, we were beginning to petrify. Perhaps the Volturi did us a favour when they burned our castles."

I could not imagine how much hatred, anger, at the Volturi's destruction. Taking and robbing numerous lives, humiliation of the highest level. " We've been waiting fifteen hundred years to return the favour. We have been ready for battle for ages. thanks, and very kindly enough for this gracious opportunity, baby Angel to provoke that. If it were not for your desultory actions, of the sorts, we never would have had a chance."

I didn't want all eyes on me, not including the unsolicited praise of war inducing. Clara, over dramatic, rolls her head and eyes emancipates the inquisitive stares. Saving me. " You need to stop talking, it's incessant. If I wanted a platinum blonde vampire to speak, I would watch Buffy the vampire slayer. Spike is woof. Don't be jealous, baby. You are the only British idiot for me." She holds a hand, hovering it across his cheek. He stares, holding her gaze.

" in the words of spike, Love isn't brains, children, it's blood — blood screaming inside you to work its will. I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it. Well woman." Vladimir, viably disgusted over modernised public display of affection, coils his mouth in a prominent leer.

'It's amusing how easy it is to piss off vampires.'

Third point of view

Malachi was appreciative to the privilege of life. Thankful for his granddad gifting him, to his parents, as the miracle he is. Though it came to question, what he had done in a previous life, now facing death. Taking stance at his soul-sister's left Malachi halts walking. Felix stands tall, within reach to Renesmee holding her. inside of his colossal hand is a beautiful pendant woven, willowed, in French inscriptional form words 'More than my own life'. He and Bella made it as a promise, to always be there in spirit. How much love they have for her. Edward never would have given a thought he'd be standing, on trial. Because of his mate, husband, simply defending himself.

Clementine couldn't remember the last she fought. It certainly wasn't a deterrent choice. Her mind was clear: aching to shed blood and cause chaos. Edward face constricts, the imagery of her imagination ran wild, intermittent on wishing he could pause those thoughts. Adonis continue remaining in his human form, eyes steadying towards frost and smog clouding over the field. Unsettling.

Jane suppresses her trepidation, anxiety. Malachi held Bella and Edwards hands, brushing over the sensitive skin of each thumb. He wasn't afraid to face Aro though it didn't mean there was nothing but looming sense of dread.

" If we live through this. You, and I, are going to get hitched. I'll follow any and everywhere, woman." Garrett promises. He intend on doing the right thing, of marrying Clementine Angelo. She had nothing to disapprove, face turning to a bright grin.

" you will make an honest woman out of me, Garrett. I accept." Kai smiles, hesitancy and hope to see the union of his cousin. Though— knowing Garrett, he would choose to Elope. Not spending thousands of dollars, out of pocket. " The red coats are coming. The red coats are coming." Malachi could hear him repeat, the thrum of his feet in pattern hitting the ground.

Like a tidal wave approaching, sea of red and black coats begin emerging in synchronisation out of the trees. Malachi's facial features gradually fade to dark, relinquished, furious.

Aro could sense the potentially power of an Angel, Malachi is present. He is not pleased. Breaking the bones in each knuckle, Kai eyes filter through to red wanting to release Balthasar. Both are eager for the ultimate victory; prize, to have Aro's head on a silver plate. " Aro is looking for Alice." Having direct access inside of his mind, Edward so wish to smirk. The Volturi are terrified of Malachi, those not believers in Christ and god pray inside their thoughts. How ironic, the dead praying for a saving grace.

Howls of wolves break in the atmosphere, the pack is here. Jacob, Paul, Seth and Leah stalk towards the witnesses going to stand guard with Malachi. Paul is joins his imprints side, snout widening at each stench of leeches, is eye level to Kai. Jake then Leah flank Felix and Bella. Baring canines to the Volturi. Alec's stare is lethal, his mind loud to the deep treachery Jane has given.

An act of betrayal nothing could be forgiven for. Silence, too silent. Carlisle, wanting civility, does the first move. " Aro. Let us discuss things as we used to. In a civilised manner." He wanted peace. No lives to be unnecessarily taken or lost.

" Fair words, Carlisle. A little out of place given the battalion you've assembled against us." Aro proclaims, not daring to reach the disturbing stare of Malachi. " I can promise you, that was never my intent." Replies Carlisle keeping true to his word. He was never one to encourage violence. " No laws have been broken here. You know that, Aro." Felix feels a burning gaze, searing inside of skull. Demetri does an eloquent; persuasive, Nanosecond, wink. momentarily having Felix smile then it's quick to fall down off his mouth. He knew he could trust Demetri.

" We see the child. Do not take us as fools. As for Edward beloved Mate, he's to answer to his treason. To slain one's mate, is exacting malevolence. needing punishment. Out of all people, you should not undermine that rule, Carlisle." Caius tone emanates derision. Sneering his lips to Malachi. Not one ounce of hesitancy of facing hell on earth.

" She is not immortal. These witnesses can attest to it. Malachi he never exacted, premeditate, the mate of Irina death and demise. He can show you through his own memories of his story. You can look." Carlisle out puts an arm to renesmee, being shielded from sight by the use of Bella's arm.

Felix held Ness's hand in comfort. Kai progresses forward, moving and positioning his body to barricade Bella and his god-daughter." See the flush of human blood in her cheeks." Caius glowers; incredulous.

" artifice!" He exclaims, sprouting out his words in accusation.

" I will collect every facet of the truth." Aro, impassive, calming his 'brother'. " But from someone more central to the story. Felix, my lovely friend. As the child clings to your newborn mate, I make the assumption you have heavy involvement." Aro opens his hand indicating he wishes to read Felix's memories. The tension inside Malachi's being go rigid, tighten. He puts one foot in front, going to walk in order to act as a protector.

Felix does an indistinct shake, signal to not follow. It was him Aro wished for.

" No. come forth, Malachi. Please, I am eager to hear your perspective. I want to give you beneficial doubt." Edward eyes darken. There was nothing in heaven or on the green earth god created would he let Malachi near Aro. But the rememberable past months proves he could care for himself. " I will be okay, Cullen, trust me. Remember?" kai says before letting go Edward's hand. Bella focuses, to use her shield, it undulates in a wave length force field.

Felix, and Malachi, tread forward. Shoes ejecting snow off the snow littered ground. Aro, internally in hysterics about his fear to an expulsion of a secret being known he has been maintaining for thousands of years, in accordance and compliance greets kai.

" I wish to have met again under better pretensions, young Malachi."

'All of this foolery is not convincing.' Thinks Malachi, an in-descriptive look Aro couldn't read. It his years of ruling never has an individual frighten him more than Malachi Morningstar. He had too much pride to admit. Faking a cough, Aro takes Felix's hand; desperate to find incriminating evidence. Nothing but the truth; he, indefensible, fathered renesmee. all the truth wired inside his memories. Irina had been wrong.

Felix removes his hand, inwardly turning to Kai the latter having a silent conversation through a link. Adonis had stood down, not wishing to defy an order by his master.

In confidence Kai out stretches a hand, wilfully; he knew Aro had already seen the truth. " You can see I had the intent of not wanting a fight. Laurent made his choice, he came as a favour and he wish to kill me. I did, if anything the necessary." Malachi made it certain, raising his voice, for Irina to listen.

" I did not break rules." He'd altered his memories in a manner where Aro could hear Laurent's final declaration, audible detestation. Aro pupils widen in dilation, witnessing the deceased vampire desecrate in ashes. What had made him stare; horrified is his true form. For the first time in the Damnation which is Aro Volturi 'life', he wanted to retrieve, never again look back.

" I wish- wish to meet her. Your daughter." Leah, pacified, growls at the 'Royal' leeches request. Bella walks forward, each step feeling like Dumbbells of dead weight anchoring her down. Jacob and Leah creeps to her sides, Ness looking to her uncle Malachi, and letting go of her mother's hold, runs to him. This triggers several Aro's 'witnesses', quick-witted sibilance of hisses.

He caught Renesmee, bring her body up and her hands automatically are around his neck. Bella didn't panic, Emmett did the same. Both having deep trust for Kai.

Jacob had gone to react, Paul reminding him to stand down when it came to Malachi. Leah, though trustful of Kai's motives, still stands close to Ness, behind him. If she was human, she would have love to throw some colourful choice of words at Aro.

" Young Bella. Immortality becomes you." Aro comments, congratulating her new status as an immortal. Renesmee's heart beat is intriguing to hear for Aro, his nasally high pitch laugh made Kai cover ness's right ear. Cringing mentally.

" I hear her strange heart." That was clear evidence, enough, for Renesmee's innocence. Bella and Felix turns their heads, each in unison, facing the god-father of their daughter.

Understanding their silent question, Renesmee is placed down and she stares. Her doe eyes full of childhood innocence a girl her age has. " Hello, Aro." Malachi stands close, in caution. Aro leans down, giving Ness access to his face, mesmerised to see her conception that enacts inside of her brain through touch. More shocking of all, upon seeing Caitlyn in Kai's arms. A baby. But that couldn't be.

" Magnifico." Felix takes ness by her arm, bringing her to his leg putting a hand over in a case of showing she is off limits. " Half mortal. Half immortal. Conceived and carried by this newborn. While still human. It, also, by factual means Malachi has successfully reproductively made a child as well. What I read from this girls memories. My dearest Malachi, you succeed to amaze."

This creates a discourse of disbelieving mutter, amongst Aro's witness then guards. How could a male reproduce, it went against nature itself.

" impossible." Caius spat.

this made Aro face downcast at his brother's claim. " you think they fooled me, brother?".

Malachi smirk taunts Caius, enough for the king to step forward but Aro's glare dares to challenge after being undermine. Caius raises a hand, ordering Irina to be brought forward for confirmation. Kai began his journey back to Cullens and witnesses, Renesmee holding his hand her hair bounding in bounces. Loving the connection, being close to her uncle.

Felix exchanges thoughtful gazes towards his fiancé, examining her face, though asking how she feels. Irina knew she had made an inexplicable error, mistake. Wanting to beg Malachi to forgive her but it was far too late.

" is that the child you saw?" interrogates Caius, pointing his finger in an accusing voice, a method in means of intimidating to get a direct answer. Leah and Jake turn, growling in question waiting for Irina's riposte. Kai, having a persisting intuitive and perpetual thought he needed to move back to Irina, inches towards her.

" She's changed. This child is bigger." Irina claims, noting how indeed renesmee had grown. Not sure of her allegations.

" Then you falsified an allegation." Caius sounds deflated, wanting an excuse to convict the Olympic coven.

" the Cullens, including Malachi, are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake." Kai meets Irina and her eyes. She shows remorse for the trouble she caused.

" I'm sorry." She whispers, mouthing those two syllables to him than her two sisters.

" Don't you dare. Caius, STOP. No! No." Felix latches on, it's a struggle to hold down Kai.

" let go right now. Felix." He had time to save her if he just let him go. Santiago, and another guard, detach Irina's arms removing them out of her body.

Caius torches her limb-less physique. This was her punishment, Death. Tanya and Kate scream out, in both pain; rage. Aro anticipates the sisters to engage, wanting them to make the first step. Garrett, with help from Clara overpowers Tanya and Kate, Even withholding Kate's voltage.

" blind them." Edward tells Zafrina urging her to use her power of mental illusion, relinquishing their eyesight. She listens. Tanya and Kate panic, realising their world, vision, had gone. " Give me my sight back."

" Tanya, this is what they want. For you to react. Don't give in to the bait. If you attack, now, we'll all die." Zafrina return their sight. Edward's words had made them realize just how Aro wanted to invoke the reaction. He got it. Malachi calms himself down, listening to his husband's response. He was correct, jeopardising the lives of his family wasn't something he could afford to lose. 'Fucking Aro.' Kai was fighting down Balthasar, his wish to smite and Exile aro, dominating rationalism of the time. The outcome.

" You see there are no rules broken, here, Aro." Carlisle continues, once there was some semblance of peace.

" Agreed. But does it then follow, that there is no danger? For the first time, in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could just as easily destroy us. Maintaining our secret." Malachi turns his stare towards Renesmee, she is on Leah's wolf back. If need readying to run. Ness tries to put a brave front for her uncle.

" Has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Are tolerable. We know nothing of what this child, or the magnifico miracle created by Malachi and his mate, will become."

Clara wanted to speak up, saying a smart arse retort, Garrett advise her not to using his quick wit of shushing her. Finger on lip. " Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, but to die tomorrow."

Kai lets Balthasar take control. Confirmation needed with those last sentences. His eyes glow, violently red. " Alice." Edward says, hearing her thoughts. facing where Alice and Jasper exiting the snow frosted trees, Malachi convinces his demon equivalent to give back mobility. He agrees though quite quick at vexing his frustration for engaging in a fight.

" Alice!" Aro is excited, adamantly, at her joining and making an emergence appearance. Santiago, Demetri, though on Felix's side needing to keep suspicion off and away, prison Alice and Jasper. Preventing further closure.

" we're so glad to see you here, after all."

" I have evidence the children won't be a risk to our kind." Alice gives out her hand, wanting Aro to see her proof. Her nieces were not going to be a threat. Malachi subconsciously uses his mind, eyes clouding over in the familial mist, wanting to be present inside of what Alice shows. The future, if he lives or dies.

He's distraught, seeing the Cullen's fight for their lives. Freedom. Jasper is decapitated, Carlisle had his head cut clean and removed from his neck from saving Alice being captive by guards. Jacob is in a brawl, a nomad vampire Aro recruited managing to over power him, being saved by Paul that ultimately leads to him perishing in death from his neck being broken.

Malachi could feel Paul dying, roaring in a scream of wrath and fury. Clara is yelling, venting out decades of suffering to avenge her dad, rampaging through guards. Jane is using her pain inducing, on Alec in defence for Adonis. Though the hell hound had a millennia of combat knowledge. He is still powerful as ever in a human vessel.

He could see his vision-self, staggering to breath, processing Paul's death. A deathly earthquake sends tremors under the field, the magnitude increasing in intensity each second. Malachi, in the premonition, grits his pristine teeth but he, in a fury so powerful, screams. Shockwaves emitting fire, crawl up the guards of the Volturi coming from inside of Kai.

He has vanished, Malachi was no longer. In his stead, a truely monstrous beast. Red blistering crusting skin and demonising glares that sullen deep hatred.

Demon-Malachi points a talon, to Aro and Caius. Marcus was killed, Stefan and Vladimir giving the quiet king his wish to die.

" you are sentence to DEATH." Caius mouth is ajar. Now pleading for mercy. Aro falls to his knees, resorting to bargaining for freedom. " You never showed mercy, how you savagely executed Carlisle. Paul. Jasper. You are going to the one place you will forever be tormented, condemn to eternity. HELL." his voice, gravelly, condones.

" I CONDEMN YOU BACK TO HELL." Balthasar, in a precise move, opens a chasm in the earth. Lava flows, the molten magma burning everything in its course. Disfigured faces of souls sent to hell pry Aro, and Caius's, legs cackling in insanity. taking pleasure in the screams of terror.

When the earth is sealed, closed, Malachi regain his control to his conscious. His body drops, out of exhaust. Generating such power weakened him exceptionally. The vision ends, though the last sound was of Clara, Edward, Bella and Adonis crying out to him.

JASMINE SPEAKS
This is the longest chapter I have worked on. I am half done and near four thousand, five hundred word count. New record if I do say so myself. What a plot twist, Paul dying in the vision :(. Poor Malachi to know that won't come true. But to see and feel his death was still traumatising.
