this is a true story.

my teacher once told me

"cheesecake is not a cake."

at that time i didn't think it mattered

whether cheesecake was actually cake or something better

but i learned to question myself 

because 

i didn't even care if it was a lie

if cheesecake was a cake, tart or even pie

cheesecake is delicious.

just remember the melting 

of heavenly goodness

on your tongue

and you feel like you've just inhaled 

the golden dessert laid in front of you 

in what seems like 

two seconds. 

now

think about eggs

scrambled, boiled, even made into paste

delicious, right? 

but what's funny is that

my teacher's experiences didn't end with cheesecake

it interconnected with eggs!

"now, your favourite things," you might say

and i was GENUINELY disappointed

that my teacher had had a bad encounter

with them

and forgotten all about how yummy they were

she said 

she had added a cup of flour

half a cup of milk and butter

the cheesecake sat perfectly in the oven waiting

yet soon the smell of eggs was wafting

all around the house

it smelled like rotten, scrambled eggs

i didn't know how that could be imagined 

with her tall, long, lanky legs

my teacher ran all the way into the kitchen

and located the source of the smelly eggs

it was the cheesecake. 

it tasted sour, something eggs lacked

eggs and cheese was superior, that a fact

"she surely must have done it wrong," i thought

i rummaged and searched, the recipes i brought

yet my teacher hadn't agreed

she still stuck to her thoughts. indeed.

what i want to tell you is. 

cheesecake is cake.

cheese is delicious. 

eggs are yummy, that is true.

but don't be like my teacher

and make the same mistake, too :)
