Lily and James Potter
Harry
I spun around on my heel to see the staircase. I man stood there, he had messy black hair and dark brown eyes behind a pair of brown glasses. Beside him was a woman with long flowing red hair, and bright emerald green eyes. She smiled at me, but the man jumped into the air before racing down the stairs to give me a large hug.
"Dad? Mom?" I say, hugging them fiercely.
And then the waterworks come. My parents, here, with me. And this time they were staying. None of us were going anywhere... Ron, Hermione, Sirius, Lupin... we were all staying here, and we would all be together. Forever.
Forever seemed like an awful long time.
Eventually I stopped bawling my eyes out to get a full look at them. They were amazing and had the exact same traits as me. When everyone said I had my mother's eyes... they weren't joking. They were the exact same color, size and shape, and in the exact same spot on our faces. And my dad's hair was the same jet black color as mine, and looked as if no one had ever bothered to even run a comb through it. The same glasses. It was all there.
A large, watery smile was planted on both of their faces, and their eyes matched it.
"We haven't seen you in so long, Harry." Lily says, reaching and touching his face. "It's been so long since I've spoke to you, let alone hug you." His mother hugs him again and James chuckles, pulling her back.
"Give him some space Lil." He drapes an arm over her shoulder and squeezes her. His gaze falls to Hermione. "Hello Hermione."
Hermione turns pink and holds out her hand. "Er... hello."
James and Lily shake her hand, and smile kindly to her.
"Don't worry Hermione, James and I love you. You were so great for Harry, and helped him through the things we couldn't. We want to thank you." Lily says and James nods his head.
"Yeah, if it wasn't for you I would have died way earlier." Harry chuckles, taking her hand. Hermione smiles.
"Yeah, you would have." James says.
That was what they did the whole day, catch up with each other, laugh and joke. They sat by the ancient looking fire in cozy Gryffindor arm chairs, Harry with Hermione in one chair and James with Lily in another.
**********
Harry and Hermione went back to their dormitories around midnight, and settled into bed. Ron and his wife, Luna, were both in the bedroom right next door, and Harry planned on spending the entire day with them.
While they were getting ready for bed, Harry spotted Hermione looking in the mirror at herself, and he came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulders.
"What's wrong?" he murmurs in her ear.
She shakes her head. "Nothing's wrong... I'm just not used to seeing myself in my twenty year old body. I haven't looked like this in ages." She says, and Harry too studied their reflections. When you came to heaven, you got to choose what stage of your life you wanted to look like. Naturally, most people chose their twenties, but there were a few people who stayed in their elder form, and some who even chose infancy, which made for a strange evening.
Harry had his messy black hair and smooth skin back, and Hermione had her curly and much less bushy hair as well. She didn't have any glasses like she had gotten once she had reached her sixties, and her skin was smooth as well.
"You still look just as beautiful as you had before." Harry says and she turns around, pecking him on the cheek.
"Thank you Harry." And then they climbed into bed, preparing for a pleasant sleep.
