Zoe POV

Our first day together in New York had been spent sightseeing, he had taken me to the empire state building, the statue of liberty and loads of other tourist attractions in the city. And finally we had found ourselves here meandering through central park eating ice cream.

I had enjoyed every second of today so far, so much so that I hadn't even thought about checking in with Dolph. It still fascinated me how everyone else saw this evil person while I saw the exact opposite, a complete angel.

He was a total gentleman, he opened dorss for me, insisted on paying for everything, he was even carrying the bags with things I'd bought. It was clear to me that something was happening here, I know we were supposed to build a friendship but this was more than that I just didn't know how to label it.

"You ok princesa? I lost you for a moment there" he asks giving me a warm smile.

"Yeah I was just thinking about stuff that's all" I say smiling back

"If you've had enough we can always head home" he says looking a little worried.

"No I'm having a good time, I'm not ready for today to end just yet" I say "in fact why don't we have a walk around the zoo"

"Sounds good to me" he says "they have a tropic zone there it's amazing, they have all kinds of things in there including bats"

"Bats!" I gasp "I not sure about that"

"Don't worry princesa I've got you" he smiles

"You going to protect me D?" I ask with a smile

"Of course" he says "I won't let anything happen to you"

Damian POV

As we walk around the zoo I find myself just watching Zoe enjoy herself, everytime we got to a new animal she would grab my hand and pull me over to the enclosure to look and her face would just light up.

It was good to see her so relaxed and happy although I wasn't sure I she just liked being in New York or if she liked being with me, either way she was having a good time and thats what matters.

As we approach the tropic zone I feel her squeeze my hand gently, I give her a reassuring smile and keep hold of her hand as we enter.
She was doing well, until we go to the area with the bats, what I had forgotten was that they were lose, so the second they started flapping about she shreaked and buried her face in my chest.

"You didn't tell me they were lose D" she gasps

"Sorry princesa I forgot" I say rubbing her back gently "let's get out of here"

I guide her out the area and back outside, she steps back from me slightly but doesn't let go of my shirt, her eyes look into mine and we just stand there like that for a moment.

"I uh....sorry I got scared" she says letting go of my shirt

"No I'm sorry I should have remembered they were lose" I say "I never meant for you to get scared"

"It's alright" she says "I think I'd like to head back to your place now"

And just like that I had ruined her day, what a perfect start!

Zoe POV

Sitting in my room at Damian's house felt awful, I had let my phobia ruin what had been a really great day, and I knew Damian was upset. What I did know was if he was upset with me or if he was blaming himself.

I had taken a shower and thrown on a baggy shirt and some shorts, but I couldn't get the look on his face out of my mind. Leaving my room I head quietly downstairs and find him in the kitchen leaning against the counter top sipping on a bottle of water.

"Hey D I just wanted to apologise for earlier I never meant to ruin our day" I say approaching him slowly

"I should have remembered they were lose, if I had know you were tha afraid of them I never would have taken you in there" he says "it's my fault"

"Hey look at me" I say cupping his cheek and turning his face to look at me "it's not yor fault, I should have told you I had a phobia instead of trying to be brave"

"You don't have to be brave for me" he says "can I ask you something princesa?"

"Sure you can ask me anything D" I smile

"puedo besarte?" He asks and I nod not taking my eyes of him "Si" I whisper

He closes the gap between us and brushes his lips over mine, he hesitates for a moment before kissing me properly, the kiss is soft and featherlight his lips barely touching mine the whole time.

He lifts me up sitting me on the counter top, his hands glide over my thighs stopping at my hips. Every kiss, every touch is delicate like he is afraid to hurt me. He was driving my body crazy with desire yet he was barely touching me at all.

As the kiss continues my hands slide under his shirt and over his muscled body, I feel him take a sharp intake of breath before breaking the kiss.

"Princesa" he whispers "I want you to be sure about this, I don't want to be something you'll regret"

"D the only thing I'll regret is not taking this chance" I say "There's something here and I'd really like to see where it goes"

"What about Dolph?" He asks "He won't like this"

"I told you he doesn't make my decisions" I say "this is my choice, you are my choice"

Nodding his lips find mine once again, he lifts me up and I wrap my legs around him as he carries me towards the stairs, I know I agreed to Dolph's rules but rules are meant to be broken right?
