Damian POV

Leaving Zoe sleeping I had headed out to get us some breakfast. She had had a long night with Dolph hashing over everything and trying to find a way to disprove her ex husbands claims and by the time she called me she was stressed and upset.

I had spent the evening holding her in my arms, trying to get her to calm down until eventually she had fallen asleep. I knew today she had to make a phone call she didn't want to make so this was my attempt to at least make her smile before then.

I had picked up coffee and a selection of pastries for both of us and on my way back to hotel I spot a flower stand. I stop and buy a single long stemmed red rose.
When I get back to the room she is still sleeping, I place the breakfast on the dressing table, before stripping down and sliding back into bed with her.

I softly run the rose down the centre of her face, over her lips and down her throat and she takes a deep intake of breath before her eyes flutter open.

"Good morning princesa" I smile as she looks up at me

"Good morning D" she says giving me a small smile

"For you" I say handing her the rose and her smile widens

"It's beautiful thank you" she says placing it near her nose and inhaling its sweet scent "What's the occasion?"

"No occasion I just wanted to see you smile" I say brushing her hair out of her face "I know today isn't going to be easy for you, so I wanted this morning to be nice, I've got breakfast"

"Please tell me you got coffee, I need coffee" she says stretching before sitting up

"Of course" I chuckle "and pastries, I wasn't sure what you'd want so I got a selection"

Zoe POV

I watch as my boxer clad boyfriend walks over to the dressig table and picks up two cups of coffee and a box. He walks over to me, places the coffee on my bedside table and then perches beside me.

He opens the box and I take a pain au chocolat, I take a bite closing my eyes at the delicious taste and hear Damian chuckle softly.

"Good?" He asks as he watches me intently

"Really good" I say licking my lips to catch the stray crumbs

"Whatever happens today I want you to know that I..........." he begins before being cut off by my phone ringing.

"Of course he's early" I sigh rolling my eyes "I'm sorry handsome k have to take this"

"Take your time I'm not going anywhere princesa" he says placing a soft kiss on my lips.

I take my phone and step out onto the balcony closing the door behind me before answering a call I don't really want to take.

"Todd" I say curtly "I wish I could say its nice to hear from you but I'd be lying"

"Always a pleasure sweetheart" he says "so have you signed the papers?"

"You don't get to call me that and no I haven't" I snap "how the hell can you acuse me of adultery when you were the one having the affair"

"Well now that's simple, we sweetheart are still married and you are sleeping with another man" he says and I can hear the smirk

"We are separated and have been for a year" I say "and I'm not sleeping with Dolph"

"Oh I wasn't talking about Dolph" he chuckles "you see I dropped the papers off personally and he told me you were in New York for work, since you never go anywhere without him I was curious"

"You son of bitch you had me followed?" I snap "why would you do that?"

"I have to protect my assets sweetheart" he chuckles "naturally I did some digging on your gentleman lover and I have to say I'm glad we never had children"

"You are a lot of things Todd but I never took you for cold and cruel" I say tears stinging my eyes "you were as devastated as I was, how could you say something like that"

"I merely meant it in the sense that you are dating a man with a violent temper who isn't ideal to be around children" he says "I didn't mean it to be cruel"

"He doesn't have a violent temper, infact he's the opposite" I say "I won't have you talking about him like that"

"Awww are you going to tell me you love him next?" He mocks

"So what if I do? It's none of your business" I say "now I'm asking you to drop this and sort this like adults, amicably"

"I don't think so" he says "sign the papers or I'll see you in court"

With that he ends the call and I allow myself to break. How could he do that, how could he be so cruel when he knew how much it hurt me?
I hear the door slide open and feel arms wrap around me, turning I bury my face into Damian's chest and sob.

"Shhh it's ok princesa, I'm here" he soothes "what happened?" He asks

"I don't want to talk about it" I sob "I don't know what I'm going to do D"

"There must be some way for you to prove your not with Dolph" he says rubbing my back

"It's not Dolph, he knows about us" I say looking up at him "he had me followed"

"What is wrong with this guy?" He asks "don't worry we'll get through this, but you are going to have to tell Dolph"

"I know and I will" I say "I'll do it today"
