(Seventeen) Suit & Tie
I slouched against the sofa, flipping through the Saturday evening channels on T.V. I glanced at my phone one more time before throwing it back on the couch cushion. I had called and texted Dean all afternoon, wondering where he was. He left this morning in a hurry without an explanation. So, when I called him and asked where he was, he only responded with, "I'm at work."
"What work? When did Dean get a job and not tell me?" I scoffed, and continued to flip through the channels. I usually didn't watch T.V., but I couldn't settle down enough to read a book.
I sighed, settling with some cooking show hosted by some guy who wasn't even cute. My mind started to wander to the events from yesterday, the dark feeling returning in my chest.
Sam's surprise visit last night just left a bad taste in my mouth. And, the fact that Dean didn't even want me to say Sam's name made it worse. I knew when some crazy idea was brewing in Dean's head, I just wish I could figure out what.
A loud knock at the door startled me out of my thoughts. I blinked a few times to bring my mind back to reality, and stood up from the sofa. I stretched my arms as I made my way to the door, wondering why I was having so many surprise visits all of a sudden.
To my amazement, Dean was the surprise visitor. But, not only that, he was dressed in a sharp, black suit and tie. His hair wasn't it's usual, sexy mess, but it still looked good to me.
"Uh, ah. D-Dean?" I asked, forgetting how to properly form words.
"Hey, Cas. Put these on, and meet me outside in the Impala in 10." Dean instructed with a smirk, handing me a neat stack of clothes. I didn't have time to ask why before he turned away from the door, and walked down the hallway.
I quickly slammed the door, and laid out the clothes, that Dean had picked out, on my bed. It was a simple outfit, really. A white, button-up dress shirt, a blue tie, and black dress pants. The only problem was: I had no idea how to tie a tie.
I could pull off the dress shirt and pants with ease, but once I got to the tie, I was lost. I spent my whole 10 minutes trying to figure out how to correctly put the cursed thing around my neck. I quickly gave up, not wanting to keep Dean waiting any longer. I slipped on my overcoat and shut the door behind me, sprinting out of the apartment building. I ran a hand through my hair before spotting the Impala, parked beside the curb.
I knocked on the drivers side window, interrupting Dean's nodding to a song on the radio. His eyes lit up when he saw me, causing me to blush. He rolled down his window, smiling brightly.
"Where are we going?" I asked, glancing at the street light across the road.
"Get in, and I'll show you." Dean said, a playful smirk on his lips.
I blushed a deep red and walked over to the passenger side, and slipped inside. I loved this Chevy Impala almost as much as Dean did. I loved the way the leather felt against my back, and I loved the earthy smell of it. It's a weird thing to say, but it reminded me of Dean. So, of course I loved this car.
Dean drove a long ways, not speaking, but keeping a playful smile on his face with the radio playing in the background.
About a half hour later, outside of our small Kansas town, we pulled into the parking lot of a brick building. I wish I would've caught the name of the building, but Dean had covered my eyes.
"Close your eyes," He instructed, before I could rip his hands away from my face. I groaned, but obeyed his command by squeezing my eyes shut. He helped me out of the Impala, and lead me by the hand to the building, I'm guessing. I heard a door open, and continued to lead me further. I heard a sound of doors close behind me, as I was blasted with warm temperature difference. We must be inside.
"Can I look now?" I asked, feeling curious.
"Shhh," Dean hushed against my neck, causing me to shiver even in such a warm room. He lead me a little further, but stopped when he started talking.
"Reserved table for Winchester." He said, wrapping his arm around my waist as we stood.
"Follow me." A voice said, and then Dean lead me through the building, his hand pressed low on my back. I was dying to crack my eye open, to peek at where we were. My only guess was at a restaurant, because why else would he reserve a table?
"Sit down." Dean commanded, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder. I did as he asked, and sat into a cold, metal chair.
"Can I look now?" I whined, feeling inpatient.
"Sure, babe." Dean said, so I opened my eyes. Dean sat across from me at a table, a cute smile on his lips. I glanced around at my surroundings, my mouth hung open in amazement. I was right; It was a restaurant, filled with sleek black tables and chandeliers that hung from the high ceilings. This place just screamed expensive.
"Holy shit," I mumbled, my eyes still wide when I glanced back at my date.
"It's nice, isn't it?" Dean said, with a thoughtful smile.
I was about to ask how he even found this place, because I've never been here before, but our waiter came over and laid down a bowl of carrot soup in front of me before I could ask. I tilted my head slightly, picking up one of the several spoons and scooping some of the orange mixture.
"This looks... strange." I commented, glancing at Dean who had the same expression.
"How did you even find this place?" I finally asked, moving the mixture around on my spoon.
"When I was coming back to town a few weeks ago, I stopped into this place because I thought it was a strip club." Dean admitted, a knowing smirk on his lips.
I rolled my eyes, dropping the spoon back into the bowl. "God, you're so Bi."
"I know." Dean responded proudly, taking a spoon full of the strange, orange soup.
"I dare you to try it." I teased, smirking.
Dean shrugged, and quickly shoved the spoon in his mouth.
His reaction was priceless.
"Oh, my god!" Dean whisper-yelled, pushing the bowl away from him in disgust. "This stuff should be illegal. It's nasty."
I giggled, covering my mouth with my hand to keep quiet. "Is it really that bad?"
"Is having a carrot shoved down your throat that bad? Yes it is!" Dean exclaimed, forgetting that there were other guests in the restaurant.
"Dean, shush!" I whispered, sending apologetic looks to nearby guests.
"Don't shush me, Cas!" Dean yelled, pointing a finger at me. Dean was acting angry, but I could see the twinkle of amusement in his eyes.
"Then don't be so obnoxious!" I yelled back, trying to hold back a smile.
"I'm not being obnoxious! This orange piss is obnoxious!" Dean exclaimed, holding up the bowl of carrot soup. I formed my hands into fists, my nails digging into my palm to keep myself from laughing. We are terrible human beings.
"Go to Hell!" I choked out, my eyes watering. Holding back laughter is harder said than done.
"Been there, done that!" Dean responded, rolling his eyes.
Before I could yell some other mindless remark, two waiters approached our table with annoyed looks on their faces.
"What seems to be the problem?" Dean asked the waiters, smugly.
"We are going to have to ask you and your date," the waiter flashed me a glare, like I shouldn't have even been allowed to set foot in his presence, "to leave. You are interrupting our guests." He finished, and gestured towards the buildings exit.
"Well, you don't have to tell me twice." Dean muttered, and grabbed my arm, leading me out of the restaurant.
Once we were outside, and leaning against the Impala is when I finally burst out laughing.
"Wow, you are something else." I laughed, wiping the tears from my eyes.
Dean shrugged, a smug smile on his lips. "Five Star Restaurant my ass!"
I shook my head, glancing up at the night sky. "You're insane."
"But, that's what you like about me." Dean cooed, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. I rolled my eyes, wondering how I ended up falling in love with this guy. We just wasted a fancy dinner together and got kicked out of a five star restaurant, but for some reason, that didn't bother me one bit.
"Thanks, Dean, for tonight." I said, quietly.
Dean squeezed my shoulder, lightly kissing my cheek. "Anything for my angel."
