Movement 8
The next few days, (Y/n) woke up feeling so much better. No pain anywhere and to her it felt so relieving. The moments of Licht staying in her apartment however still continued to play in her head. He left right after she woke up from a long nap, leaving behind a note. A rather curt note, but still to (Y/n) it was thoughtful. She could practically feel her cheeks begin to burn. She knew now how kind Licht was, even though he was very harsh externally. It fascinated her, the contrast in his nature. The kind side of Licht made (Y/n) become flustered. Like she had developed a liking for him. (Y/n) was on her couch writing in her journal, letting herself ponder as she wrote.
She wasn't going to deny, she had developed an attraction for Licht. Being friends for so long and showing each other things that strangers wouldn't show to each other, it was inevitable. But (Y/n) didn't feel like it was time for her to be falling in love, in fact it was the worst timing. Her mind jumbled up with her emotions spiraling every time she saw or even thought about Licht.
As if on cue, her cellphone rang once again. She expected it to be Licht, but instead she heard another very unsettling voice.
"(Y/n)..." (Y/n) could feel her body shudder, the goosebumps arising from her skin as she could feel the cold crawl upon her.
"Doctor Iwazumi."
"I see that you have answered your phone and not your friend. That's good as I have specific information for you." He said, his voice never failed to give her shivers and she hated it. She listened to him drabble on and on, mostly about some results you didn't care about. It was like sitting in a boring lecture.
It wasn't until she heard his voice calling her name again did she pay attention, "(Y/n)."
"Hm?"
"I hope you remember everything I just said." He said, or rather ordered continuing to lecture her.
"Ok..." You heard a beep from her phone, her eyes widened on seeing the contact.
"Um, I got another call!" She quickly exclaimed to cut him off.
He paused, "Who?" He asked. She blinked not expecting that question to arise. He almost sounded...interested. (Y/n) thought it strange, and just brushed off the tone of his voice.
"Someone important. I'll be hanging up now." She said quickly pressing the end call button. She let out a tiny sigh, somehow even after talking with him she felt strange, bad even. She didn't know why she felt this repulsed by her doctor, but she couldn't help. (Y/n) shook her head, she shouldn't dwell on that. It was only going to make her feel worse.
She pressed the answer button on her phone, her breath and tone of voice became calm. She wanted to hide her state of distress.
"Hello~ Is this (Y/n)-chan?" (Y/n) recognized the voice, the one that had answered her earlier yesterday.
"Hello." She replied politely. Even if she talked to this person earlier, she didn't even know his name.
"Wow, you're voice is a lot cuter when it's not as raspy." She did a double take at the out of the blue comment. A feeling of major embarrassment crawled up upon her as her faced heated up.
"I-I'm sorry?" She stuttered.
"Oh! You don't even know who I am don't you? My name is Rozenstein Kranz, Licht's manager." Kranz's voice lit up even more as he sounded a lot more bubbly. (Y/n) blinked, she didn't realize she was talking to Licht's manager. But she suddenly felt more excited.
"Eh? So you're Licht's manager. It's nice to finally introduce myself, even if it's over the phone." She said with a slight laugh. She could hear him laughing with her.
"Yes! Actually, I was hoping, would you like to meet in person?" He suddenly asked.
"May I ask why?"
She heard a soft sigh over the phone from Kranz, "Keep this a secret, but I want you to see Licht." He said. A loud boom could be heard from her heart as he said that. An expression of shock painted on her face.
"Read the address I'll send to you. I'll explain more when you come over~" He added quickly and hung up before she could say anything. It wasn't like she could say anything at the moment, her mind was still trying to rid her of the shock. She composed herself, her body becoming more aware of the attraction. Her face heated up, and she covered it in her hands. She willed herself to be calm, she needed to be calm. Two breaths of fresh air and she became still.
She figured she might as well head over, but a million questions rang through her head as she went out the door.
--------------------------------------------
(Y/n)'s jaw dropped as she stared at the elegant interior decor of the hotel. Her wide eyes took in everything from the intricate designs of the art on the walls, to the fancy lighting hanging from the ceiling, to the architecture. It felt like a different world to her, way different from her own little space. She couldn't help but take a few minutes to fawn over the sight.
After that she went over to the address Kranz sent her. She didn't hesitate to knock on the wooden door, but she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with nervousness. Her adrenaline pumping in her veins making her body jumpy. Was this how Licht felt when he went to visit her? The door opened just as she began to daydream and her head snapped to a man in suit, long blond hair tied at the end, and a gorgeous smile decorating his face.
"Are you Rozen-san?" (Y/n) asked with hesitance. Kranz's eyes brightened as he looked at her.
"Why yes, you're (Y/n)-chan? Come in!" He exclaimed beckoning her into the room. She bowed to him and entered slowly, the room look just as extravagant as when she first entered the hotel. She became widely fascinated.
"So this is where Licht-san is staying..." She mumbled but followed with a small smile and giggle.
"As expected." Of course someone with high stature as Licht would be here, (Y/n) couldn't repress her giggles.
"(Y/n)-chan, welcome!" Kranz exclaimed patting her shoulder giving a wide smile.
(Y/n) smiled back at him, "Thank you Rozen-san."
"Call me Kranz!"
"Um, Kranz-san why did you call me here?"
"Oh!" Kranz clapped his hands together as began to remember. He guided (Y/n) to a corner where it was just the two of them.
"(Y/n)-chan, I was wondering if you could help Licht. He has a concert coming up, and ever since he got back yesterday he has been practicing non-stop. Maybe you could check up on him for me?" He asked, his tone of voice became truly concerned.
"But, wouldn't I disturb his practice. It would seem rude." (Y/n) said truthfully.
Kranz just gave out a sigh, "Honestly that boy, he works well but he works too hard. His stress level is probably too high."
Kranz then gave (Y/n) a hopeful look, "He might not listen to me, so I'm turning to you." He said. (Y/n) nodded after hearing his explanation. The word about Licht's stress felt distressing to her; she admired how hard he worked, but not to this extent.
"Ok." She agreed, meanwhile Kranz gave a tiny cheer.
"Thank you (Y/n)-chan. I appreciate it, and I'm sure Licht would appreciate you coming over." He teased winking. It caused (Y/n)'s face to slightly heat up being the victim of the teasing. She cleared her throat, just to distract herself from the thought.
"Where is Licht-san?" She asked.
"He's with the Grand piano in one of the halls. Do you want me to show you?" He asked.
"Lead the way."
Kranz directed himself out of the door while (Y/n) followed him close behind. Through the little journey (Y/n) was able to think to herself. She became giddy, at the opportunity given to her. To be able to hear Licht play. Ever since she first heard his music, she wanted to hear him play live. To hear the music naturally coming from fingers upon the keys, the Grand Piano singing upon the hall. To see Licht, playing his heart out to the audience. To (Y/n) that scene made her heart skip a beat, and for her seeing that would be worth anything to her. Even if it seemed she was wasting time..it would be worth it. A little smile played onto her face at the image, her face couldn't escape the heartfelt blush. Kranz glanced back seeing her expression, and he couldn't help but have a smile grace his face as well.
'(Y/n)...seems like a nice girl.' He thought as he walked.
They reached upon the double doors and Kranz opened it wide. Immediately (Y/n)'s ears were swept away with the sound of chords from the Grand Piano. Her eyes widened....it sounded more beautiful than she could imagine. Her eyes guided her upon Licht's form at the instrument. His eyes were closed, and his posture was completely straight. He moved dramatically; accurately portraying the tone according to the music. He looked like he was doing work, which is exactly what he was doing. Working...working to portray the feeling, the emotion. The raw sounds coming together made (Y/n) almost tear up. It sounded so angelic.
"Wow..." Was all she could mumble out since she became so immersed in the music.
"Pretty impressive right? Licht has been working hard." Kranz said winking again. They both watched in silence to respect Licht's playing, it was not like they would. Once Licht finished he still had his scowl on his face, one hand slowly going up to his forehead to rub away an incoming migraine.
"As always a beautiful sound Licht." Kranz said from the doorway.
"I thought I told you not to bother-" Licht stopped right there. He turned to glare at Kranz but it faded from anger to momentary shock as soon as he saw (Y/n) standing next to Kranz. She looked completely ecstatic. His eyebrows furrowed as he wondered why she was there. Both of them went to the stage, closer to where he was. Licht's eyes moved to Kranz for an explanation.
"I called her." He said knowing exactly what Licht was thinking. Licht sighed irritatedly, Kranz did what he didn't want him to do. He didn't want to see (Y/n). Because he would get distracted. He grit his teeth, and let a free hand flow through his hair in frustration, (Y/n)'s presence only adding to his frustrations. He watched as (Y/n)'s smile never faded from her face as she stood in front of him.
"Licht-san! I got to hear you play! It was better than I thought!" She said excitingly adding laughs to the ends of her sentences. His heart skipped, as always around her bright smiles. But her praise...her praise almost broke his impassiveness. He has heard it before from many of his fans, but when it passed through her lips he could feel it. The genuine happiness in her voice, and that brought his heart to quicken and a minuscule blush to appear. Inside it brought him...joy.
"Tch, I don't see it. I messed up on some chords before you came in." He said with a slight bitterness. But inside he conflicted with himself, as he truly felt he was slacking in his performance. And it didn't sit well with him, so he had to push away everything and work. Right now set an example, he felt distracted. He turned to Kranz with a sharp glare his eyes telling them to leave.
"Kranz, take (Y/n) and leave for some time. I still need to work." He said simply putting in as much harshness as he could. He ignored the small part, that made him feel guilty for pushing you away when you can all the way to help him.
Kranz only returned his glare with a stern look, "Licht. You have been working non stop since you came back a couple of days ago. And isn't it a little rude to push away (Y/n)-chan when she's being so nice and visiting you?" He said and Licht only glared more.
"Oh, that's ok Kranz-san." (Y/n) said as she jumped from the stage, landing perfectly on her feet.
"If Licht says he needs practice, then it wouldn't hurt to sharpen his skills if he feels like it. But Licht-san.." She locked her (e/c) eyes with his, even if they were soft, they showed a stern scolding.
"Please take care of yourself, and don't overwork. Your fans would be sad if something were to happen." She said giving off a playful grin towards the end. Licht blinked, but nodded at her. He could feel his heart almost leap out of his chest, he felt surprised to see someone be so understanding.
She bowed to him and went to the doorway with Kranz, who only shrugged and sighed at his response.
They left him alone once more with the piano, giving Licht a chance to focus once more. He sat in the seat, letting his mind clear and for once he could feel his frustrations melt. His fingers gingerly touched the keys, and a memory played in his mind, a memory of rain. Soon his fingers worked as he began to play.
----------------------------------------------
"(Y/n)-chan, you're so cute." Kranz gushed as the two came back into the room.
"Eh?! Cute?!" (Y/n) reacted in surprise to the unexpected statement.
"Yes!" Kranz put his hands on his face, acting like a love struck schoolgirl. (Y/n) sweat dropped at his behavior, but found it amusing nonetheless.
"But, that was a good thing you told Licht. I'm sure he at least got the idea of his stress." Kranz said with a sincere smile. (Y/n) looked down embarrassed slightly but she couldn't help the flustered smile either.
"I mean I just gave him some overused advice. I'm sure anyone would tell him that and he would get it."
"That's true, but he seems to only listen to you. Isn't it strange?~" Kranz said with a slight tease making (Y/n) even more flustered.
"Um! Be right back!" She exclaimed out of no where, she just wanted to escape the teasing. But she made it plainly obvious. Kranz only laughed lightly as he watched her escape.
"Ah, (Y/n)...seems like a perfect match for Licht."
------------------------------------
(Y/n) stopped in a room where she caught her breath. She never felt her heart pound harder. She hummed a whine covering her eyes with her hands. Truly her feelings weren't doing well for her at the moment, they were a jumbled mess. But it oddly made her feel good, the thought of her relationship with Licht. The fact that she can get along with him so well, even if he is completely stubborn. As soon as she felt calm again, she decided to go back to Kranz. It was kind of rude to just run away without a word. As soon as she reached for the doorknob, she could feel a shiver upon her skin.
She could feel eyes on her, not even an exaggerated feeling. Her entire body froze as she could legitimately feel a breathing on her ear, and her fear skyrocketed.
"Hello there~" A husky whisper breathed on her. Before she could even scream, move or do anything she could feel a hand cover her mouth and something pin her to the wall. The room was dark and she couldn't see anything, but her quivering gaze caught upon two crimson eyes in front of her.
"So you're (Y/n)-chan?" The male voice right in front of her asked. Her head nodded slightly, obeying out of the fear she was experiencing.
"Oh?~ So you're Licht-tan's..." The male voice trailed into a giggle as the crimson irises burned bright. (Y/n) could feel the hand move off her mouth, but everything was all too sudden she couldn't even get her voice out in time. Two fingers pulled her chin to the face, her eyes caught sight of the black and blond locks.
"Hm~" He hummed, a mischievous hum. His grin revealed the sharp fangs he concealed. (Y/n) could feel him move closer, a threatening feeling in the air.
Suddenly the door slammed open, breaking it.
