Movement 6
Music in the media
"I'm heading off again." Licht said to Kranz.
Kranz smiled a goofy smile, "Oh Licht! Going to see (L/n)-chan again? And I didn't even have to push you to contact her." He said gushing like a school girl.
"Shut up." Licht said harshly before he slammed the door shut.
Licht had spent all day practicing, and by now it was almost the evening time. But he still wanted to see (Y/n). The urge to meet her grew stronger with each passing hour. It honestly annoyed him slightly, a part of him felt like he was wasting his time doing this. But another part felt like he was wasting her time, and for that he felt a little bad. Although the joy he felt when he saw you conquered overall. He knew his feelings were a mess. He breathed in the cold air as he let his thoughts organize themselves.
He walked the crowded streets of the city, to him it was way too noisy. His eyes scanned the mass of people, and he caught a familiar sight of (h/c) hair. Surely enough she was there walking, heaving a bag over her shoulder. He paused pursing his lips in a thin line, debating whether or not to get her attention. He couldn't help himself as his feet started moving to her direction.
Once he got closer he called her name, "(L/n)." She turned and the shining color of her eyes locked with his metallic blue grey ones. A wide open mouthed smile appeared on her face.
"Todoroki-san!"
He felt his his cheeks warm once he saw the illuminating smile on your face, but his stoic expression made it hard for others to tell.
"You're out late. I thought you would usually be in your hotel or practicing." She commented.
"I could say the same for you." He said. He never knew (Y/n) went out this late, it made his curiosity grow.
"Oh? Um well...I needed to step out to pick up something." She said, with the amount of stuttering and hesitance Licht picked up on her nervousness. It made him wonder, what made her nervous. He wanted to ask her, but that would count as prying. Licht had to stop himself, if she respected his privacy then he would respect hers.
"Are you out for a walk?" She asked. He scowled momentarily, as he tried to think of an answer. No way he would admit that he wanted to come and find her. So he just nodded silently to answer her question.
"That's nice, although it is getting colder outside." She commented breathing out a puff of her breath. She watched it condense in the air with a grin.
"Did you...want to...join..me?" He asked. He wanted to kick himself for being so awkward and hesitant. But his inner stubbornness mixed with embarrassment was not helping him in the slightest. He felt amazed at how you made his mind feel this way when no one else could.
(Y/n) blushed red but smiled, "Sure! It would make the night seem less lonely." She said.
"Ah!" She ran ahead of him point forward. "There's a grassy area right down there!" She exclaimed. In a rushed moment she grabbed Licht's hand pulling him forward. If (Y/n) hadn't been pulling him, he would've frozen in his place as soon as his skin came in contact with hers. He didn't quite expect her to grab his hand like that, but he wasn't going to lie when he felt right about it. Her small hand gripping his hand made his heart quicken and electricity spark. Why did he like it so much?
"Here!" She exclaimed turning towards him. She noticed the scowl and his eyes looking downward. She followed the gaze to see her hand holding his. Her eyes widened and she ripped away her hand out of embarrassment, and a little shame.
"I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have grabbed your hand so suddenly. That was wrong of me." She said, although she was blushing profusely. Licht looked at his hand once she let go, his fingers curled. He felt a little disheartened, that once she let go it felt...empty. He got over it in a second, and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"Just...warn me next time you do that." Was all he said. The two walked in silence in the evening air, although it was a little awkward. (Y/n) still slapping her cheek to berate herself for the bold move, meanwhile Licht was just silent. However, the two enjoyed each other's presence even though they would not admit it. (Y/n) glanced at Licht two times before turning her gaze to the sky. She noticed all of the clouds rolling in, and became disappointed to not see the stars.
"What's with that look?" Licht asked as he saw (Y/n)'s disappointment.
"The clouds are blocking the stars." She said making Licht raise a brow. He gazed upward looking at the clouds. He questioned why she was so upset by this. His stare turned stern as he watched the sky.
"(Y/n) I think-" His sentence was cut when he felt a drop of water on his nose. Once more on his forehead, and another on his cheek. The drops continued to pour as they became heavier, rain started falling. Licht sighed, another annoyance grew in him as the rain started soaking his hoodie. He went and grabbed (Y/n)'s hand while she stared up in a daze, and pulled her along under a roof of a building. He clicked his tongue as he felt his wet hair, the world had horrible timing. He couldn't afford to get sick either from this rain.
(Y/n) stared, a look of awe in her eyes, as she stepped and brought out her hand. The cool raindrops fell on her palm, melding the temperatures together. The soft texture of water upon her skin made a grin appear on her face. She walked out into the rain while Licht was distracted with his own annoyance. She held out her hands feeling the tiny pressure of the water droplets as they became victims of gravity and fell from the clouds. They gathered into a little puddle into her hands, and she felt giddy. She threw them up letting them the water clash together in the air, with that she mixed in a hearty laugh. She twirled around feeling the raindrops, and she kicked at the puddles watching the water fly.
Licht turned his attention to (Y/n) confusion hitting him as he watched her play in the rain. At first he thought she was being childish. But his heart raced as soon as he heard her laugh. It looked amusing to him. Watching her move about in the rain, like she was a dancer. She stopped momentarily turning to Licht, with a bemused smile she ran to him. This time on purpose, she grabbed his hands. She knew she would be reprimanded for it later, but for her the moment was waiting. She grinned seeing Licht's bewildered face as she pulled him further into the rain.
He glared at her as he pathetically used his arms to shield himself. She only laughed lightly.
"Todoroki-san, join me in the rain!" She exclaimed spinning around.
"Idiot! Are you asking to get sick?" He scolded her harshly but it didn't register in her mind. She spun while cheering having the time of her life. Licht stuffed his hands in his pockets as he went to go take shelter again. But (Y/n) took ahold of Licht's hands, this time giving a pleading look along with the smile.
"Please Todoroki-san, don't abandon me now it's just staring to get fun." She said. Licht paused for a moment as his hard stare peered into hers. He knew he was going to regret it, a lot. But he would let his anti-social, serious wall crumble just this once.
"Fine." He said, the one word brought the biggest smile onto her face.
She cheered loudly as she pulled him, "Dance with me." She said. Licht paused and stared down at his feet, he shifted awkwardly as he stepped forward when she stepped back. When it came to casual, fun time Licht was relatively new. (Y/n) guffawed at Licht's movements her eyes scanning them.
"You're so stiff." She commented while she grinned.
"Tch, I'm not used to this." He said while he stubbornly turned his head away from her. She gripped his hands tighter.
"Then allow me to help." She gave him a sweet look, he could swear his cheeks turned a dark shade of pink for a moment. They both looked down as (Y/n) guided him, one step forward, one step back and so forth. He slowly got the hang of it as he leaned back along with her.
"That's it! Let loose!" She exclaimed and giggled. Licht took the lead, although still awkward, he stretched out and stretched back in by his arms. He took (Y/n) by her hand, and twirled her. She became immersed, as well as he. They both moved about in the rain letting the flow of the water compare to the flow of their movements. The pitter patter of the rain creating a rhythm for them. Even though Licht was close to stopping (Y/n) guided him. Until she distracted herself, and slipped on a curb. Licht quickly grabbed her by the wrist and her waist before she fell, and pulled her back a little roughly.
Both of their heart accelerated as they both blinked. Licht's tight grip loosened and (Y/n) bowed to him momentarily. Both of them averting their gazes.
"Hmm we're soaked now."
"It's your fault."
"That's too harsh Todoroki-san." (Y/n) giggled while playing with her bangs. Another idea popped into her head, but she was hesitant to ask.
"Todoroki-san, want to go somewhere? It's inside so we'll be sheltered from the rain. But I feel bad that I've been dragging you everywhere." You said shyly.
"Tch, I'll put up with it. Just for today." He said sternly. He didn't actually mind you dragging him around, mostly because he still had no idea what Tokyo had to offer him entertainment wise.
"Then come with me!" You grinned and pumped your fist in the air.
----------------------------------------
The rain continue to pour and you two dragged yourselves through the heavy pelting. You ran to a large white building, you carefully pushed open the doors.
"Ah, they still keep their doors open." (Y/n) commented quietly. She peered into the building, what looked like a lobby and glanced at every direction. She stepped in, the clicks of her boots echoing through the halls.
"Come on Todoroki-san." She ushered in with a whisper. His steps as well echoed through the large room. He looked around taking in the surroundings, it looked like a museum of some sorts.
"Where are we?" He asked but (Y/n) only shushed him, which made his eyebrow twitch.
"Oi, (Y/n)-" (Y/n) cut off his voice with her hand. His glare became sharp as he stared at her and she chuckled nervously.
"Sorry Todoroki-san, it's past closing hours and I don't know if the guard is roaming around. We need to be quiet." She whispered to him and cautiously removed her hand.
"Is this even allowed, or legal?" He asked her. She nervously chuckled again making him glare at her.
"Maybe not, but what's life without a little risk. Besides there is something I really want you to see." She said before quickly running down the hall and hiding. He sighed and followed her.
-----------------------------------------
"Down here!" She exclaimed and lead Licht to a big door. He wondered where she was dragging him, and couldn't take the curiosity.
"Where is this? And how can you enter here?" He asked curtly.
"Just wait a little longer..." She mumbled, and pushed him into a big room with a concave ceiling. He looked around the dark room and saw (Y/n) pushing a bunch of buttons.
"You ready?" She asked enthusiastically. All Licht could do was shrug. With the pull of the lever a sound of whirring machines filled the air. The room morphed and flashing images appeared, and low behold before Licht was the image of a galaxy. A black void of space surrounded by the lights of stars. Licht openly gaped in astonishment as he watched all of the stars gleam. To him, the scenery was beyond amazing.
"Wait for it..." (Y/n) appeared next to him, and pointed downwards. He watched as the floor disappeared blending into the background. It looked like the two were floating in space.
"What...is this?" Licht asked in shock.
"I guess it's like a planetarium and observatory mixed together. It's my favorite place to visit, because of this simulator. It's amazing right? I can tell by the look on your face." She said, and Licht became immersed in the wide spread of space. (Y/n) giggled touching the screen filled room and running around like a small child.
"Todoroki-san!" She called, he glanced over. His eyes widened slightly as he saw her take a star in her hands.
"How..."
"It's mostly a trick, a combination of science and optical illusions. But for now let's call it magic~" She said winking at him, she dragged her finger across the screen guiding a star towards him. Licht slowly did the same as her, for the first time since piano playing he felt excited.
"Aren't stars so cool?" (Y/n) asked him.
Licht shrugged, "I haven't thought much of them." He said with his impassive tone. (Y/n) smiled at him, and then at the background.
"I do, I usually think instead of balls of gases they're actually people or something else watching over us."
Licht scoffed, "That's pretty childish." He said making (Y/n) elbow him softly.
"Well, the normal description is boring. Besides wouldn't it be nice, if all these stars were angels?" She asked making Licht freeze. He pondered for a moment before nodding.
She laughed, "I knew you would agree to that."
"I'm an angel so of course I would."
She nodded, "So I guess you're a star too." She hummed and sat down on the floor.
"You think I would become a star?" She asked.
"That's a cliche question." Licht commented but thought for moment.
"True..."
"I think you would." Licht said making (Y/n) blink.
"A very bright one." Licht said and pointed to one bright star in the corner. (Y/n)'s cheeks warmed up turning red, and she covered her cheeks in attempt to hide. She snickered and began to laugh heartily.
"Todoroki-san so you can get cliche too." She said in between laughs.
Licht blushed slightly, his mind becoming embarrassed. He grumbled crossing his arms adamantly. (Y/n) got up and softly grabbed his wrist again.
"It's ok! We all can be cliche once in a while. Why not now?" She said grinning at him. Licht's blinked, and his blush gradually had gotten worse. His self control was slowly starting to dwindle the more time he saw her smile, laugh, even stare at her. He was thankful the simulator was too dark for her to see.
(Y/n) suddenly gasped, and her grip on his wrist tightened slightly. Licht caught sight of her hand fidgeting near her chest. Her eyes were shadowed by her hair, and he noticed her breath became...uneven.
"(L/n)?" He tried calling her name and it made her snap her head to attention.
"Oh I'm sorry. It's nothing Todoroki-san. Oh..." She got her phone checking the time.
"It's really late. I think I kept you here against your will for a little too long." She joked giving a little chuckle. Licht knew she felt bad, taking into consideration his busy schedule. But he thought, she didn't need to feel that way. He came to her out of his own free will.
"Don't apologize. I'll explain that I was sheltering from the rain." He said.
"But-"
"It's fine." He said simply. His simple words communicating a lot more to her.
"If you say so, Todoroki-san." She said, however the hesitance was still there.
"Licht..."
"Huh?"
"Call me Licht." He said staring at her with his impassive expression. His eyes however showed that he wanted her to. (Y/n) had to control herself otherwise her face would be fully colored. Although her control wasn't as strong as Licht.
"You don't mind?"
"No."
"Alright, Licht-san, then call me (Y/n) please." Licht felt like his heart would explode as soon as his first name passed through her lips. He liked it, he can deny it however much he wanted to on the outside. But on the inside he liked it. It created so many good emotions in him. The permission to call her by her first name only added to that.
"(Y/n)..." She felt the exact same way. Although she was much happier. The two averted gazes again, it was silent. But it was a nice silence.
---------------------------------------
The rain had stopped and the usual silence of the rain was replaced by the noise of the city once again.
"T-Then I'll see you later Licht-san?" (Y/n) said. Oh how much anticipation she felt at the thought of seeing him again.
"Yeah sure..." He said plainly.
With that they both parted ways, both inwardly happy with the time spent together.
---------------------------------
Only a sudden cellphone call had cut (Y/n)'s in half.
"(Y/n)..." Doctor Iwazumi's voice had said on the other end.
"You need to come now, urgently.."
