Movement 24
(Y/n) had shifted in her bed, steadily sitting up and letting out a groggy yawn. Rubbing her eyes she checked her phone, catching the time and nearly falling out of her bed.
"I fell asleep?!" She couldn't believe she fell asleep before checking her texts. But her body went against her with fatigue. She saw the text from Mahiru, and quickly sent a reply.
Can I see him now? Tell him to meet me at my apartment.
Oh. He's sleeping now, but I can tell him when he wakes up.
Came the fast reply, she huffed leaning back on her bed. Finally agreeing with another text, she set her phone aside. Now she took in the opportunity, giving herself more time to mull over her thoughts. She knew what she wanted, her heart pounding in her chest at the thought. But she had to conquer these fears and self doubts. She knew for sure she felt strongly about Licht, but why would she continue to hold herself back? And she discerned why, she wanted to put his well being over hers. The pain of being left behind hurt, a lot. She felt that first hand. But maybe now she would ask Licht again. Without the heavy drama of her past she would listen to him.
If he reconsidered, then that would be that. But deep down she didn't want him to reconsider. She stood up stretching her sore limbs, and she went to the kitchen to make herself a good breakfast.
---------------------------------------
Three hours later, Licht finally awoke. Grunting as the sunlight hit his eyes, it was the first time he disliked the light. Letting his fatigue fade he finally stood up. Making his way out to see his Servamp socializing with the Sloth pair. He grunted in irritation, not wanting to get involved and made his way to the kitchen.
"Oh Licht-san, (Y/n)-chan texted back!" Mahiru called. In a flash Licht abandoned the kitchen and went up behind Mahiru to peek at his phone. "What did she say?" He asked and Mahiru showed him his phone. He read the text, that was sent 3 hours ago. He wanted to facepalm, he had to admit they had horrible timing when they wanted to meet up. He retreated back to the room to pull on his hoodie and back pack. She said she wanted to meet at her apartment, this invited the perfect opportunity for him.
He had left the three there in their own confusion.
"He really seems more, active around that girl." Kuro said.
"I don't think active is the right word." Mahiru said sweat dropping as he stared at the shut door.
Lawless smirked, "Well boys this looks like a perfect opportunity." He said with a glint in his glasses. For the first time, the two felt nervous as they thought about the Greed's scheme.
--------------------------------------
(Y/n) had been writing in her journal to past the time. It had been quite some time since she sent the text, in fact she grew a little concern. And she conceived to send another text to him, but got interrupted by a knock at the door. She hummed, and peeked through the crack as she opened it. Then she opened it fully in alarm as she stared wide eyed.
"Licht-san! You're here..." She said off guard. He stared down with his usual indifferent expression, and nodded. They stood in an awkward silence, until (Y/n) broke it. "Did you want to-"
"Actually," Licht said catching her wrist in his grip, the moment they touched never failed to make tingles on their skin, "I want to take you somewhere. And show you something." He said. She blinked, "Um, alright. Can I change first?" With the request he let her go and she went to her room. Licht stepped inside, kneeling as soon as her dog spotted him in the doorway.
"Hello, (Dog Name)-san. Wish me luck with (Y/n) today." He muttered petting the happy animal, who let out a loud bark. He chuckled enjoying the time until she emerged. "Let's go." He said holding out his hand. She blushed as she could feel his one grip hers tightly as he lead her out.
-----------------------------------------
Along the way, she had asked where they were going, but he silenced her every time. She pouted as they kept walking, not liking the silence and dismissing comments. She really needed to talk to him. She looked around, fancy decor and large rooms caught her eye. She looked around in awe, but the realized the location, "Licht-san..."
"We're here." He said pulling her towards a lone seat. She peered curiously into his eyes, and he nodded.
"Just listen." He commanded, going to the piano. Not long afterwards she heard a beautiful melody, nothing she heard him play last night. The chords danced around as the sound bounced off the walls. She took in every single note, as they seemed to find a way to hit her heart. She saw with her eyes the amount of passion he put into it, with the way he moved. But he seemed different, he put more love into this song. And it tugged at her heart strings as she held her chest. With the incoming harmonies it seemed once again that angels had invaded the room, letting it be drowned in a soft light.
He started slowing down, bringing the song to a close. And he let his eyes remained closed, "I thought of this for hours last night. It may seem a little messy, but I wrote it. Just for you (Y/n)." He said finally facing her. The tears returned in her eyes, now it was her turn to remain silent.
"I think we both needed a little time to think about the things you said. And I'm glad you told me. I'm not good with romance at all, but I know my feelings when they hit me. The fact that you told me everything about you, shows how much you trust me. And I'm going to live up that."
He jumped down from the stage standing before her, "I never had anyone to call a friend before. I'm bad at socializing, but you pushed ahead of that and became my friend anyway. You care for me, unlike any other, even with this dark secret I've been carrying with me. I want to be with you. The urge beats anything I felt before. So I'm going to give it a shot. But I want you to as well, and I decided to support you. I won't abandon you. I love you (Y/n)." He said. His tone grew more intense and by the end he reached a high volume that managed to bounce off the walls. He saw her, her whole body quivering, and he grew concerned. He felt a sudden force hit his body, and he grunted in shock. (Y/n) had tackled him, hiding her face, her whole body still shaking.
"Now I'm sure. I'm absolutely sure, I've been waiting for someone to say words like that to me for so long." She lifted her tear stained face to look him in the eye.
"I love you too. I love you too Licht-san!" She exclaimed loudly hugging him tightly. He froze hearing the words, they sounded unreal. He had to wrap around his arms around her form to realize it was real. Their love was real. "You sure took your time to say it crybaby." He said letting amusement lace his tone.
"Shut up, I'm feeling emotional." She said through her hiccups. He let his hand run through her hair as he let her cry, trying to calm her. As her sobs ceased, and her form relaxed, he continued and let her become soothed.
"Licht-san-" She stopped and gripped his hoodie. He knew what she wanted to say and shushed her.
"We'll make it work. You just need to get treated right? If you're working hard then I will too." He affirmed. Her heart skipped a beat, even more so when he looked at her with that same intense look.
"We're together now, so we're going to do things that way." She blushed at his words, "We're together now." She repeated blushing hard but smiling. She felt her heart pound at the thought. She gave herself a minute to relax her mind and emotions.
"So now?" She asked.
"I..." He paused, "Have no idea." He said and (Y/n) nearly keeled over. She hummed as she mediated for a moment, and a wide smile appeared as she got an idea. "Let's go back to the tea shop!" She exclaimed.
"Tea shop?"
"Yeah! That's the first place we spent time, and like got acquainted with each other." She said as she pushed her index fingers together.
"Makes sense." He said stuffing his hands in his pockets, "Want to go now?" She nodded to his question following his lead out of the hall.
"I could use something after all that crying." She said. The two walked together, instead and elated feeling between them as they entered the shop. They sat down after they ordered, (Y/n) excitingly sipping at her drink.
"How could you drink this boba stuff?" Licht asked as he fiddled with his straw.
"What? It's so good!" She argued.
"It's so...chewy." He said, and she gasped out loud.
"You mean you don't like it?" She asked disappointed. While he shook his head.
"Then how come you told me it was 'ok' when you first tried it?" She asked narrowing her eyes at him.
"I was being nice." He said bluntly. "You're mean." (Y/n) mumbled with fake tears and sipped at her drink.
"Then did you want something else?"
Licht paused, pointing to a case filled with Mochi ice cream. (Y/n) smiled as she saw and nodded in agreement. "Then let's-"
"I'll pay for it." Licht said getting some stray bills. When he saw (Y/n) looked ready to decline he beat her to it, "It's the least I can do. Besides," His cheeks had turned just a little pink, "I don't want you to be paying for everything." He said.
(Y/n) giggled catching his attention, "Licht-san you're so cute." He could feel his heart stop, but then immediately race. Never had he heard her say he was cute, interesting maybe, but never cute. He wouldn't lie, he kind of liked it coming from her. But he just clicked his tongue, face forming a scowl.
"Tch, I'm not cute." He said trying to hide his red face. "If anything you're...cute." He said timidly. She blushed as well hiding her face. Proof that the two were new at romance, they couldn't handle compliments from each other without blushing like tomatoes each time. He had to take a minute to compose himself before he eventually got the treats for the two of them. An array of mochi lined up before them, (Y/n)'s eyes sparkling at them in excitement.
"Hm, I wonder what flavor they are?" She asked taking a green one, and biting into it. "Ah, this one's matcha."
Licht took one himself, taking a pink one, "Strawberry." He said simply. And the two experimented with the different flavors.
"Hm, chocolate."
(Y/n) gasped, "Eh? I love chocolate, lucky." She sighed a little disappointed, but still with the smile plastered on her face. Licht held it out to her, "Did you want it?" He asked. She stared, suddenly bursting out red from the fact that he already bit into it. But he didn't seem to notice.
"Eh, n-no it's fine."
"Just take it if you really want it, it's the last one anyway." He said growing impatient. She nervously took it, and bit into it her blush spreading to her ears. He took notice of her red face, but couldn't comprehend why she blushed. He raised a brow as she stared at him and then quickly averted her gaze. When she finished they decided to ditch the shop, walking around once more in a comfortable silence.
"It's getting pretty late isn't it?" She asked looking at the sun starting to set.
"Huh, I must have lost time." Licht mumbled. "I'll walk you home then." He said.
-----------------------------------------
Reaching by her door the two faced each other. "I'm really happy." She commented softly while he nodded at her.
"I guess we're a couple as of today." The word couple made (Y/n)'s heart want to burst like fireworks. "So I'll see you tomorrow then." She nodded quickly. A urge growing in her chest, but feeling too shy she shuffled on her feet. Finally pushing herself, she stood on her toes, her lips pushing against his cheek. He hadn't even process before she quickly bid him goodnight and shut the door. His fingers grazed his cheeks, feeling the slight moist spot where her lips kissed, letting the blush spread across his face for the first time.
On the other side she leaned against the door, her hands on her red face. Still mulling over what she did, she felt shy but she didn't regret anything. She then traced her lips, wondering when she would gather the courage to actually kiss him for real. Perhaps someday, but for now she just let herself be bathed in the feeling of complete happiness she hasn't felt in a while.
