Movement 21

(Y/n) waited nervously, at the front of her apartment. Her leg shaking anxiously, her eyes directed upward. The sky seemed cloudy, she pursed her lips at the small observation. Ironic how it seemed to mimic how she was feeling, a pathetic fallacy. Her dog bumped her leg, wagging its tail. He seemed to catch her attention for her hand automatically went down for her to run her fingers through his fur. That not only comforted him, but her as well. She breathed deeply as she continued to wait. A little time more, and she spotted who she was waiting for. She jogged at the half way point meeting up with him.

"Licht-san, good morning." She greeted maintaining a polite attitude. Although Licht himself seemed a little more irritable given the scrunched up eyebrows and glare. His face seemed to soften ever sol slightly, and it made the girl giggle at him in amusement.

"Is it too early?" She asked, almost seemingly guilty.

"No, just some little annoyance before I came here." He said running his hand through his hair in a stressed manner. In fact he just looked entirely stressed. (Y/n) could only guess, a mischievous, Shakespearean obsessed vampire had something to do with it. The thought made her giggle more loud. Her dog seemed to jump on him in the moment she was distracted. Already licking the poor boy's face intensely.

"Ah, hey! Down!" She commanded, her dog obliged sitting while Licht went to wiping his face with his sleeve.

"I don't mind." Licht spoke up, "Just seeing you two and I'm already in a better mood." He said. (Y/n) swore she could see the faintest smile under the shadow of his sleeve. And she blushed heavily, immediately turning a little timid.

"U-Um, then shall we go?" She asked in a quiet stutter. Licht seemed to grunt, but it felt more like an amused chuckle and nodded. They walked side by side in the crowd. (Dog's name) guiding both of them, not that they needed it, but they just went with the flow of everything. Just doing that made everything seem comfortable.

"So..." Licht then caught her attention, "Why did you ask me to accompany you to the hospital?" He asked glancing at her.

"I felt like, with you there I would gain confidence." She said. He raised a brow, for he didn't understand what she meant. She even seemed to be daydreaming as she talked, in a daze of some sorts. Perhaps he should just keep quiet, but he couldn't help a growing concern. Something felt amiss. But he left it, just letting the silence over take them. It went like that all the way to the front desk of the hospital. Licht stood off to the side along with her dog, playing with him and waiting for her. When she returned she seemed antsy, nervous. The subtle trembles of her shoulders caught his attention. She sat down with a sigh, and he joined her, moving a little just to brush his hand against hers. His dislike of PDA made him struggle a bit, wanting to grab her hand but to just keep the relationship away from the public.

"You seem nervous." He said, noticing the way her leg bounced. She flinched, but nodded.

"I am, I always am when I come here." She said leaning back on the chair. Licht felt his hand twitch and he moved it slightly. Right to the point where their pinkies were touching.

"I guess with your doctor, it would make sense." He said and saw how she visibly tensed up. Even his eyebrows shot up watching her strangle the strap of her bag. He could feel something hit in his chest, heavier and heavier it became. Rage, perhaps that was what it was. No matter to him, but he despised anyone, who would spread this type of fear. The type of fear to make someone freeze at their mere name. It was the worst of demons. His lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes glancing around the halls. He, although hesitantly, too her hand and squeezed it. He couldn't help but feel like a school boy with a crush with how shy he got, even if he hated the feeling.

"Don't think about him. I'm here for you now."  He said now looking at her straight in the eye. Even he would've seemed disappointed with the lack of words and his tone. He just wanted to ease her tension. But her eyes seemed to widen, she looked more shocked than her predicted. And the signs of tears in her eyes. Just simple words, enough to get her so emotional and that got him to think. She used her other hand to wipe her eye, and smiled.

"Thank you, those words make me really happy." She said blushing, also gripping his hand. Licht had enough self control, but he couldn't help but blush and have a growing urge to just steal a kiss right then and there. But the moment was inappropriate, and he let go of her hand to continue to wait. The meantime was filled with small conversation, they had grown comfortable with each other to talk about anything. Especially when it involved music did Licht really get passionate. Finally their conversation cut when she heard the voice that sent icy chills up her spine.

"You're actually on time today." Doctor Iwazumi said staring down at the both of them. His eyes looked even more blank, and (Y/n) gripped at Licht's hand hard when she looked up. She kept a calm expression though, not willing to give in.

"Yes. I am, the sooner we start the sooner we finish right?" She asked. Iwazumi grunted a response and his gaze lingered at Licht glaring right back at him. Anyone passing by would immediately shiver at the sheer intimidation the two were showcasing.

"I see you brought your friend again." He stated, it wasn't brought out in a good way. Licht seemed to move cautiously, even when he let go of (Y/n)'s hand, he seemed to move along with her. Even now, he hated the vibes the man gave off, and he was even more resistant with letting (Y/n) go with him.

"I came with her because I wanted to." He said, leaving out just a little part of the truth. Iwazumi paid no heed, but strangely something did seem to bother him. Only (Y/n) noticed but she kept her mouth shut.

She only sighed loudly, already wanting everything to be over.
"Let's just go please." She demanded walking past them quickly. Iwazumi cast one last glance before heading for the office. Licht could only follow for a certain distance before he began another while of waiting. Even her dog waited patiently adjacent to the door for her, ever so loyal.
-----------------------------------------

"Relapse is very common, so obviously the symptoms would return. I tried another mix for you to try, although I'm sure you're not confident of the side effects." He said scouring his counter. (Y/n) seemed to fidget in her place, goosebumps growing, and a bitter feeling seemed to appear.

"Is that bruise still there?" He asked. She paused her small movements, her hands unconsciously going to her abdomen. Iwazumi seemed to come up to her, she didn't even notice in her daze.
"I asked if it's still there." He asked. She blinked almost screaming at the now close proximity. She backed up near a counter, and just nodded, scrunching her clothing in frustration.

"It's still there."

"Makes sense. Your body doesn't heal bruising easily." He spoke now going back to his earlier action. She only stood, she knew he was about to bring up something according to his gaze on her.

"You seem much more chipper now that you made a friend." He said, just as she predicted. She got on her guard, gripping at her bag strap.

"Yes, like I always mentioned he makes me happy."

"So I assumed you didn't tell him then." That statement made her freeze and her eyes widen. She looked down, she suddenly felt a feeling acquitted to shame.
"If he really was a close friend, then I would guess you already tell him about your little...situation, but I guessed wrong perhaps." He sounded so indifferent, yet it sounded so offending. She didn't know if it was on purpose or not, but she felt a rush of anger.

"Don't assume anything about me! I was planning on telling him! Today in fact!" She yelled in argument. A fire shone in her bright eyes just showing her anger directed toward him. It wasn't enough to melt the ice however. For he just stuffed his hand in his pocket, the other placing the mix of medications on the counter.

"Why did you wait then?"

The question rained heavy on her. Seeming to douse the fire that was there.

"Because..."

"I see my words have gotten some sense into you."

But that statement brought it back.

"Sense?! I only hesitated because I let your nonsense wrack my brain for a long time. I only ever felt nothing but sorrow, doubts, and so many other negative emotions. But when I met Licht-san I felt the other spectrum for once, and more intensely too. I just wanted to confront you, a confidence build up, that's it. I don't care what you say." She said growling out each of her words at the end. Iwazumi seemed almost, taken aback. He never saw a strong passion in her words as this before. Even when she was awaiting him in the hospital bed just a few weeks prior.

"Let's say you tell him, and your condition gets worse what then?" He asked. His eyes seemed to glint as he grabbed her by her upper arms. She yelped, and now got a full view of just how dead his eyes looked.
"There's rarely a second chance in life. Life doesn't give out more chances. It will leave nothing but hurt behind." He seemed to be babbling now, talking down at her. She winced as she could feel almost a death grip on her arms. Tight enough to leave another bruise on her body.

"Remember I saved you, you owe me. If the second time comes around he won't be able to save you like I have." She gasped this time as the grip became unbearable. He never went this far before, his actions only went as far as words sharp as a knife.

"H-Hurts...please stop..." She gasped trying to pry him off. She cursed herself for her lack of strength. Her mind went into danger mode.
"L-Li-" She could feel his fingers literally dig into her delicate skin as she tried to call out, making the area burned. Her mind became so occupied with a searing pain, but she quickly acted. Using her leg to kick him in the area of his shins. It made him loosen his grip on one end, unfortunately not enough for him to let go on the other. For she knew the doctor was a stubborn man himself.

"LICHT-SAN!" She no longer focused on pain and called; hoping her voice resonated loud enough for him to hear. The slam of the door rushed in a feeling of relief for her. He stood in the threshold, his eyes locking on them for a moment before he came rushing forward. He said nothing but he acted, kicking the man in the leg to trip him and then ripping his grip away. He then kicked the man in the chest making him fly across the office. Lifting him by the collar, Licht looked as fierce as when he confronted Higan.

"You bastard! You call yourself a doctor? Hurting a patient like that?" He snarled at the disoriented man in front of him. The thought of (Y/n) getting hurt got him on edge. Now he has seen it and he has lost control. His temper has reached beyond its limits. Anyone who hurt her just asked for themselves a place in hell, courtesy of an angel like himself. A loud whimpering and loud bark made his mind snap out of rage for a moment. He glanced back, watching (Y/n) grip at her arms with tearful eyes; while her dog barked at her almost in worry. His grip on the man's collar tightened, but he only let him fall to the floor.

"I'm only holding back because she's here, and because you're a doctor. I don't know about you, but hurting her like that doesn't come without consequences. Remember that." He said those last words with venom before turning his heels, and heading for her aid. Iwazumi watched through half lidded eyes, sitting like a rag doll on the floor, at the two, not even heeding their attention at him.

"(Y/n)? Where are you hurt?" Licht asked scanning her. His hands gripped at her upper arms accidentally, making a loud hiss escape her. Tugging her sleeve, he saw sights of dark bruising on her skin. He suddenly saw red, a rage awakened and he felt the murderous urge he had whenever he saw a demon in his sights. He let her go, with plans to confront the doctor on his mind until he felt a tug at his sleeve. The young girl stopped him, a fear filled whimper escaping her. She shook, trembled before him in a pathetic, vulnerable state. He grew worried with her silence. She looked more afraid then she did in the past with the scuffle with the Servamps. She wiped her eyes vigorously with her wrists trying to get rid of the running tears. Licht took initiative, his attention now on her instead of the doctor. He brought her out of the office and into the hall, her dog following like a guard. The hallway appeared secluded, it gave him a good moment to embrace her again. He could physically feel her body's shaking.

"(Y/n), calm down. I'm here and he's not. Breath." He spoke in short demands, holding her and waiting patiently. He had to wait a while for her to finally take long and slow breaths, and for the quaking to cease. When he confirmed she was calm, he let go. Or attempted to let go, but her hands had scrunched the fabric of his jacket tightly.

"(Y/n)..." He called her name quietly.

"That was terrifying." She spoke, her forehead pressed against his chest.
"He always spoke harsh words, but he never got physical. Why?"

"Can't you just ask for another doctor?" He asked. Now (Y/n) lifted her tear stained face, and Licht felt a pang in his chest just from her expression.

"I can't."

"What? Why?! He attacked you!" Licht yelled, he wasn't angry; more worried to the point of frustration.

"He's the one who my parents assigned for my condition. He's a more expert..." (Y/n) seemed to hesitate, biting her lip. She pushed him away with light strength now looking him in the eye.
"And he saved my life." She stated with a serious tone. It shocked him enough to make his eyes widen.

"What do you mean?"

"Licht-san, I brought you here not just to accompany me, but also for something else. I wanted to tell you everything, my history, and my condition. It's time I told the truth."
