Movement 19
Three weeks have passed since that time. Once again the time elapsed became slow to the both of them. They managed to keep little contact, but at (Y/n)'s request Licht estranged from the hospital for some time. It honestly ate at him, even if he refused to admit it. He used the time to recover himself from the strain his body took from the fight against the Servamp of Melancholy and his subclass. Licht even started looking after Lawless for sometime, even if he still hated the Servamps guts. He had to admit, it indeed felt relieving to not actually work. But the time kept passing, and he started to miss his piano. His fingers playing on the keys flawlessly was always a way to calm him.
Now he wanted his piano more than ever. The time he hadn't kept in contact with (Y/n) started to weigh on him. He had so many questions but he had to keep patient for her to answer them. His fingers twitched, and he constantly tapped it as he sat and thought to himself. He now lived with the boy named Mahiru, as per the command of the C3 organization. He still questioned why, but no answer came to him anytime soon. He sat around with an irritated scowl on his face.
Not only was all of this new situation happening, but he had a problem with (Y/n). It wasn't a bad problem, but rather a distracting problem. Especially after that little stunt he pulled before he left her in the hospital room. He clearly could hear his heart pound every time he thought of her, anything that had to do with her. He would suddenly grow nervous, and that has never happened. Not only that but he just...missed her. So much that his thoughts became consumed. He just disliked being away from her so much. His scowl deepened as another image of her flashed.
"Uhh...Licht-san?"
He snapped out of his daze when he heard Mahiru call him. Mahiru looked at him nervously. He blinked as he realized he was glaring.
"What?" He asked. All of the frustrations set upon him let his tone turn harsh. Mahiru cleared his throat, and hesitated to even speak.
"Uh, dinner's ready. Kuro and Lawless are already there." He said pointing in the direction.
"I'm not ready yet." He said, and slouched as he sat on the floor. Mahiru joined him after a few seconds of deciding. Only for Licht to glare at him. He flinched but he still sat and stayed with him.
"Are you...ok?" He asked.
"I..." Licht paused growling and huffing. He let out an angry sigh of defeat covering his face with his hands.
"I don't know anymore." He said. He felt annoyed, stressed, and something else he couldn't name, simultaneously.
"Wow I've never seen you that distressed. Well unless you count that time-"
"Don't mention that." Licht cut him off harshly, he'd rather just repress the fight entirely at this moment. Mahiru felt concerned for him, he has noticed him acting like this for the past week. He wished he could say something helpful, but he predicted Licht would just snap and dismiss him.
"So..is it perhaps about (Y/n)?" He took a shot, and he saw Licht's body stiffen. He had found the reason just from his reaction. Licht could only grit his teeth remaining silent.
"Are you mad at her?" Mahiru asked.
"No! I'm...just worried, and it's to the point where it's frustrating." Licht admitted, even he didn't know what he was feeling. He just seemed like a mess. He sighed exasperatedly running a hand through his hair.
"I need my piano, I'm too stressed." He mumbled. Mahiru hummed, thinking, but his cellphone ring cut into the silence.
"Ah, hello?" Mahiru sweat dropped hearing a familiar chirping voice on the other end. He cleared his throat handing his phone to Licht. He raised a brow, but took it.
"Ah Licht!" Krantz greeted, he sounded rather cheerful.
"Krantz? Why are you calling?" He asked. Mahiru took the time to sneak away to a hiding place.
"Just checking up on you. It's so quiet without you and Hyde screaming up the place." He commented, Licht popped a vein.
"I'm doing fine in case you were wondering." He said, his voice came out harsher than intended, and it caused Krantz to hum suspiciously on the other end.
"Are you angry again?" He asked straightforwardly. Licht sighed heavily again, now he grew even more frustrated.
"All right, tell me what's wrong. And no lying or avoiding either." Krantz said turning very strict.
"It's about...(Y/n)." He admitted.
"(Y/n)-chan?"
"Yeah. We haven't spoken that often for some time. And I'm..worried. She just invades my thoughts when I don't want her too. And it's messing up my thinking. I don't know...I'm not annoyed at her specifically." He finally admitted his thoughts to Krantz, Krantz remained silent through his speech. Licht waited for Krantz to speak again, and his ears received a squeal from the man.
"Krantz?!"
"I never thought I would find a day where I heard Licht was in love."
Licht's mind went blank as he processed Krantz words. His mouth hung agape, and his eyes just stared. Once the thought hit him, he lashed out.
"What do you mean in love?! Me?!" He yelled into the phone loud enough to break an eardrum.
"Of course!"
"How can you tell?" He asked; he felt deeply suspicious. There was no way.
"Hm..you say your thoughts are filled with her occasionally?"
"Yeah."
"Do you see her sometimes when you're off like daydreaming for example."
"Yeah."
"Do you find a yourself growing nervous or blushing?"
Licht found it harder to hide, and his answers became hesitant.
"...Yeah."
"Does your heart race?"
"..Yes." His voice became quieter with each answer he admitted. Why was he starting to turn shy?
By then Mahiru himself nearly keeled over yelling shock. The two Servamps unfortunately had heard the commotion and walked into the room.
"Oi, what's taking you two-"
Mahiru shushed Kuro who only sighed, not having the energy to question or argue. Lawless himself grew curious, joining in and eavesdropping on the conversation himself.
"Krantz have you lost it? I'm not in love..."
"Now now, I know you well enough to know how stubborn you are with your feelings. But even you can't deny it right?" He asked making Licht shut his mouth from further debate. Krantz proved to be right from his words. There was just so much frustration that Licht couldn't keep up his stubborn act anymore.
"Besides, (Y/n) is nice girl. You'll be ready to tell her soon right?"
"Yeah. Just, how do you know for sure it's the in love type of feeling?" He asked. A part of him was still doubtful, even with all the clear signs. This was probably a newfound nervousness he had. Or rather he had never had these feelings before.
"Hm...well just close your eyes for confirmation. If you can see her and hear her laugh, there's your answer."
"Krantz that's stupid and sappy." Licht answered irritated. Krantz only sighed, he was used to this already.
"Well it's all on you. Just make sure to take care of yourself and Hyde. I got more work to do.~" The line cut off, Licht only listening to the beeps absentminded. He became lost in thought, just contemplating what Krantz told him. He spoke honestly, so he really did consider. Maybe for the first time, this was what it felt like for him to have these strong feelings for someone else. Even stronger than the bonds he shared with other people.
"Ehh~" He heard Hyde's voice right next to his and it practically almost made him jump. He turned with a sharp glare.
"Oi." He growled out, Hyde ignored the intimidating glare he received and instead grinned. He even conquered Licht's glare with his grin and his eyes sparked in interest.
"Licht-tan's in love hmm~" He hummed the teasing tone loud and clear. Licht popped a vein, his irritation suddenly grew as he could hear the mocking tone.
"I can see it." He said further enacting a very frustrated reaction. Lawless nodded confirming his answer just from the reaction. Plus he just observed the boy seeing him blush even with the aggravated expression on his face.
"If it's frustrating you that bad." Mahiru spoke up honestly and walked in with Kuro right behind, although he was occupied with his gaming console.
"You should just tell her." He added sitting down with them.
"It's not that easy." Licht argued growing annoyed with all of them. He wanted to deal with it alone, and for them to mind their own business. But he was so frustrated he actually felt a little helpless in this case.
"It's true. When it comes to love no time is better than the present." Lawless spoke, although his eyes seemed to cast downward changing ever so slightly. Licht noticed but he didn't act on it, he already knew what happened with Lawless in the past.
"Come oooon Licht-tan!" Lawless persisted his eyes glinting excitingly, perhaps too excitingly. Licht growled at him, standing up and walking away. He really wanted to deal with the situation alone. Or maybe he was just too hesitant to agree to his idea. He actually felt nervous, maybe anxious to reveal his inner feelings to her. How would she take it? Would she reject him? The option of rejection always loomed in the air during a confession, at least that's what he saw on some soap operas anyway.
"Ehhh! Wait uuuup! Where are you going?!" Lawless exclaimed running after him. Licht only continued to ignore him, as he had a set destination in mind.
------------------------------------
He stepped outside of the hospital room, his feet tapping impatiently at the floor as he waited outside. He had heard from one of the receptionists that she was occupied at the moment, and he came all the way so he might as well wait. Lawless was somewhere in the hall, Licht's mind was daydreaming so much he didn't even see him escape. At this point he didn't even care. He sighed, his head hitting the wall with a small thud. He evoked back to the earlier conversation with Krantz, every word. The last part...the last part struck something, and although it seemed a little ridiculous, what if it was true? As the moments ticked by he unconsciously let his eyelids fall, consuming him in dark. He tapped his finger rhythmically on the wall, his mind wandered off to his daydreams. Automatically his piano came into view, throughout the soft tune of the melody he heard laughter as well. Very familiar laughter, as well as an image flash.
His eyes snapped open breaking him out of his narcosis. He couldn't deny it..what he saw. His fists clenched as he gulped feeling his threat going dry and just dizzy. Just as he began to grow finicky the door opened. And there she was. Although her expression seemed forlorn. His breath caught in his throat immediately and she didn't take notice of him right there. He felt curious...why did she look so despondent? It tugged at him, he would rather always see the bright smile on her face greeting. She sighed softly, as he observed her he noticed her eyes were slightly swollen. Did she not get any sleep? Has she been...crying? Just the thought caused his mind to become even more anxious.
He actually felt worried for once, for that he ignored the anxiety and called out to her.
"(Y/n)."
The girl recognized the voice that called her name, and her head turned to his voice. Her eyes wide and her mouth hung agape just a bit, she clearly looked shocked by his presence. A little croak of her voice came out, and even the color reappeared on her cheeks. She seemed to turn timid as she bowed to him.
"S-Sorry for not greeting you, but I'll be right back!" She stated, speed walking in another direction. Right before Licht could get a word in she already walked a far distance. He sighed, face palming at his own hesitance. He looked off in the direction she went, off in a daze again.
"You again?" Only to be cut out of his stupor by a gruff voice. Iwazumi stared down at him, there was a stark height difference. Licht maintained himself only to glare back at him. The two had a stare down, Licht's head turning back into the other direction.
"Did you say something to her to make her look like that?" He asked, his voice seemed quiet. But it was the quiet voice that seemed the most deadly.
Iwazumi gave a huff, stuffing his hand in his free pocket. He didn't even seem remorseful or had any sort of emotion depicted at all. He stayed silent just staring the boy down, almost like he was analyzing. He ignored the death glare he was receiving, and started mulling over some documents.
"Tch." Licht grit his teeth and his temper rose. But it would be futile to run up and start an argument with him. He didn't want to start a scene. Now even more his attention was drawn away, he had waited enough. He dashed through the halls himself, although he didn't know where she went. So he went up to one of the nurses, who luckily happened to see her pass by. He ran out two double doors into an open space in the middle of the buildings, a courtyard. He panted, he didn't even realize how fast he ran. He stepped in around the area, it was pretty tranquil and quiet. The perfect place for her.
He tread, trying to be silent himself, he saw her down by a tall tree. She paced back and forth, something seemed to be weighing on her mind. He could hear a faint muttering from her.
"He's just trying to bring me down...he always does...why do his words always hurt...I thought I would be over it by now..." She sighed sitting on the ground, hands in her face. They slid down and she just leaned back looking fatigued.
"I never thought I'd realized it would be this lonely." She uttered. Licht froze in his spot, hearing the words she croaked through her ragged breath actually managed to tear his heart open. Like the saddest melody played in the minor key she sat there.
His fists clenched as his hesitance seemed to momentarily disappear. He stepped up, the soft crunches of snow making slight noise, and he kneeled down.
"(Y/n)." His voice startled her, even her shoulders jumped up a bit. She relaxed seeing it was him, but her cheeks turned red seeing as how their faces were adjacent. She paused, trying to speak, because for some reason it seemed difficult.
"Are you ok?" He asked, lacing concerned left along in his voice. She blinked, not even anticipating the question, but she nodded as still her voice didn't project. He sat down in the same space.
"Are you sure? You looked upset earlier." He said. He needed confirmation.
"Ah, I'm fine.." She spoke out shaky at first. She found the courage, and her smile reappeared, it was slow but it came back.
"Thank you for concerning about me." She said gratefully. Licht averted gazes growing flustered.
"No problem.." He got out his response quickly to avoid any shakiness that might come out with his voice.
The two then sat, both fidgeting around as they tried to find something to say. The whole scene felt awkward between the two.
"It's been a while..." (Y/n) started out tucking her hair behind her ears.
"It has...I-I missed seeing you.." He wanted to hide right then and there. He couldn't believe he let that slip out. He cursed himself and his feverishness.
"I-I mean you're much better company than that shit rat sometimes so.." He seriously wanted to run, why was he so nervous? He couldn't even talk right. Even (Y/n) took notice only to let out a tiny giggle.
"Is that so? I feel the same way." She said. This wasn't helping him as he became even more flustered under her. He needed a subject change and fast.
"This hospital has a courtyard?" He asked. Even with the subject change he still seemed pretty inquisitive of the area.
(Y/n) nodded, "Yes. It may not seem surprising but this was my favorite area. My first friend encounter was here too." She grinned as she reminisced the scene.
"First friend encounter?"
"Ah, yeah. A few years ago when I was a full fledged patient." She said, her voice became soothing that Licht's ears tuned in.
"I met a very cute Eurasian tree sparrow right outside my window." She pointed her finger to one of the high branches.
"Right there. I was in bed just lying around and I hear very loud chirps outside, followed by a choked squawk. I found a nest of Eurasian sparrows outside in the branch. They were so cute, but what caught my eye was a smaller and thinner bird."
"I named him Taro."
"Taro-san huh?" He asked and she replied with a nod. He could never control his love for animals, his mind imagined the little bird from her descriptions.
"We actually shared a lot in common, to tell the truth, he was as sick as me."
Licht's eyes widened slightly but he stopped himself from asking anymore questions. (Y/n) seemed really pensive at the moment.
"His feathers were less plume than his siblings, and his cry was always weak. He even looked like he could barely walk when he was of age. I felt bad for him. Even when the dad was teaching his babies how to fly, Taro just couldn't do it. He tried again and again to fly but he just couldn't, his body wouldn't let him." The mood had shifted as (Y/n) further told her story. Licht could feel his heart being tugged, a sorrow he felt from (Y/n) that just grew. It was infectious. He tried to hide it behind his impassive expression.
"I would watch everyday as Taro tried to fly even cheering him on a couple of times. The days would turn to weeks, months, and almost a year. Then I see him stand up one more time, he went even higher on the branch. He jumped and just as he was near the ground, he suddenly just soared. I guess all that jumping and falling was just practice cause his wings seemed to work for him. I cheered so loud, but then became sad. When birds learn how to fly it means they leave and start their new lives." She continued to ramble on in her story, just at the end her bright smile spread across her face. She jumped up standing, her mood changing instantly as she became more passionate.
"Taro actually taught me something, what it's like to try hard and live. So I wanted to follow him. And this is the result." She said laughing. Licht could feel his lips twitch, he could feel them itch to showcase an actual...smile. She looked so happy, free, and lively. Soon her laughing died down, and he swore he heard a choking sound. But he didn't even find an inch of despair on her face.
"Sorry, Licht-san. I must have bored you with my ramblings again." She said, her expression turning to embarrassment and her cheeks showing evidence with their color. Licht stood up with her dusting himself off.
"You should be sorry, I'm actually moved." He said trying to be teasing, although it seemed almost comedic with his usual composed expression.
"Eh? Uh.." (Y/n)'s voice trailed off as she blushed. Once again she turned timid not knowing what to say.
"I'm serious stupid. It was inspirational." He paused.
"So did you ever see Taro-san again?" He asked.
She shook her head, "No." Her tone turned melancholic for a moment.
"Like I said he went to start his own life. I'm glad actually." She said breathing in and out, puffs of smoke escaped her condensed breath.
"Was it...lonely?" He asked. He had no idea where the question came from. But he just wanted to know, just how alone she felt, was.
"Yeah." It was one simple answer, but it told a lot to him. He wanted to be there for her, and right next to her. Now he was sure of it as he could feel his heart race at the thought. His thumb rubbed the knuckles of his clenched fist, even the slight tremble gave off how much adrenaline had been running through his veins.
"(Y/n)." He spoke out.
"Hm?"
"I--uh, I l-l-" He stuttered horribly. This moment became on par with the time his hair turned white before playing in a concert his parents were attending. Her shining (e/c) gazed at him quizzically as she tilted her head, waiting for him to continue."
He breathed in, "I...l-listened to some classical soundtracks that I think you should listen to." Everything seemed to shatter, even his resolve. He fucked up, really badly this time. That didn't seem to affect (Y/n) however as her eyes sparkled.
"Really? I would love to!" She exclaimed happily.
He wanted to do everything over, but he already went too far. It was obvious from his screw up that he just couldn't do it, he wasn't ready. But he really wanted to do it, so bad that it almost physically hurt him how fast his heart would race. He grit his teeth, feeling the need to kick something. All he could do was let out a heavy sigh, as he felt extremely disappointed.
"Licht-san, did you maybe...want to come to my apartment and listen to it? I'm getting dismissed today." She said in a sheepish tone poking her index fingers together. His blush reappeared once again, and he nodded silently. She grinned, only to shiver violently right afterwards. She rubbed her arms breathing out another puff of condensed air.
"It sure is cold, even for this time of year." She said with another shudder. Licht could feel the urge to just take her small hand in his one. But he had to stop himself, he would feel really awkward afterwards. Plus he didn't want to force anything on her. Especially right after his failed confession. But the urge just kept getting stronger. His fingers brushed her hand, hesitantly pulling it away from her arm. He didn't even have a strong grip, but somehow her own grip went slack.
"Of course it's cold it just snowed didn't it? You should hurry up and get inside." He said, although it was stern. She casted her gaze downward, nodding slowly. He moved his hand to her wrist, clasping it, and she silently gave permission by not moving. They walked back side by side, but the grasp he had her wrist, connected them much more.
------------------------------------------
"LICHT-TAN ACTUALLY MESSED UP!" Lawless yelled out loudly, he even attracted some attention from how hard he was laughing. Licht had an aura surrounding him, a very terrifying aura. He looked ready to murder the poor vampire for embarrassing him, like many other times. He grabbed Lawless by his collar, kneeing him in the gut hard enough to knock the wind out of him. Lawless wheezed as he fell on his knees.
"So why'd you chicken out?" He asked through a strained voice. Licht clicked his tongue, glaring at him for a few moments. His glare faded as he glanced at his side.
"I just...felt nervous...it's my first time with these feelings." He admitted. Lawless recovered almost immediately and grinned.
"Well you know no one is stopping you but yourself, Who could refrain that had a heart to love and in that heart the courage to make love known?*" He spoke out, perhaps a little too dramatic, but it caused Licht to think for a moment. (Y/n) came running up to them bowing.
"Sorry for taking so long." She apologized only to feel someone pat her head.
"That's ok (Y/n)-chan~ We weren't waiting long." Lawless said grinning. (Y/n) chuckled back, while Licht's eyebrow twitched. After a few more moments of (Y/n) talking to one of the nurses, they finally set off.
-------------------------------------
"Wah~ It's good to be home!" She exclaimed stretching her arms high in the air. She beckoned the two males inside once she stepped in further. A fast tapping could be heard, (Dog's name) came rushing in barking. His tail wagged rapidly as he jumped on (Y/n), ecstatic that his owner was home.
She laughed, "Aw, did you miss me while I was gone?~" She cooed as she ruffled his fur. He barked again, his tongue licking her face. He then turned his attention away once he saw the other two. He sniffed at their feet immediately jumping on Licht and licking his face. Licht couldn't help but chuckle, her dog certainly was energetic, but to him it wasn't a bad thing. Lawless however, flinched as her dog came into close contact, the memory of his loud barking came rushing back. When he did inch closer, he stiffened.
"Don't worry, he won't bite or growl or anything. Unless he's on duty." (Y/n) said. Her dog tilted its head curiously at Lawless, seemingly skeptical. Lawless grew curious himself, holding out his hand in anticipation. The her dog just turned away, going back to (Y/n).
"Uwaa~ So mean! I've been rejected!" Lawless cried, (Y/n) sweat dropped while Licht set off a smug smirk on his face. She shook her head amused, and then walked to the kitchen.
"I'll get drinks!" She announced disappearing through the door. Licht and Lawless just settled themselves down.
"So!" Lawless exclaimed abruptly.
"Are you still going to tell her?" He asked.
"What's it to you?" Licht asked, already getting irritated. Although he was irritated for a number of reasons.
"You know what you need? Counseling."
"Counseling?"
"Yes, counseling and practice. If you keep saying it over and over you'll get the hang of it in no time! Now say it with me!" Lawless continued to persist only making Licht more angry.
"Shut up.." He growled through his clenched teeth.
"I..."
"I said shut up.."
"Love..."
"This is stupid.."
"You..."
"I don't need your help shit rat."
"(Y/-"
"SHUT UP!" Licht blurted out way too loudly. Slamming his hand on the table. Even (dogs name) jumped up and barked from the sudden loud noise. (Y/n) came stumbling in the room, almost falling. She looked panicked.
"W-What happened?!" She asked looking around.
"Oh nothing (Y/n)-chan~"
(Y/n) suddenly looked disheartened, showing a little pout on her face.
"You guys aren't fighting again are you?" She asked crossing her arms.
"No." They both answered glancing away at each other.
"Hmm." She narrowed her eyes skeptically while they continued to avert their eyes. She shrugged and just nodded, walking back into the kitchen. Both of them breathed out heavily, and Lawless could only tut disappointed.
"You have to tell her eventually." He said and his tone started growing a little more serious. Licht harrumphed, standing up and escaping away from him. If his temper got out of control he would not hold back. He walked cautiously walked into the kitchen, seeing (Y/n) humming to herself while she got drinks.
"You need help?" For the second time she jumped, clutching her hand to her chest.
"Please stop doing that." She muttered through a sigh.
"And you don't have to trouble yourself." She said once again turning.
"It's fine." He said bluntly taking himself a melon soda from the fridge. He went up to grab the glass, only for his fingers to brush against hers. They both froze, snapping their hands back close to their bodies. Blushes creeped onto both of their faces.
"Sorry." She said quietly.
"Don't apologize."
He dismissed what happened and just poured the drink himself. He leaned onto the counter gazing at her.
"I never got to ask," He started catching her attention again.
"Are you ok?"
She blinked, "Of course-"
"No I mean," He stopped and pointed to her abdomen. The place where her bruise had formed. Her eyes glanced everywhere, her mouth in a thin line.
"Yes, it doesn't hurt as much as it did." She confessed, she sounded honest. Licht nodded leaving the matter, but of course the concern was still there. Once she finished, he followed her back to the living room.
--------------------------------------------
"Ehhh! So all that happened?!" She exclaimed. The last few hours were just filled with talking, and the atmosphere actually felt comfortable for once. Lawless and Licht finally explained to (Y/n) the last fight with Tsubaki and the subclass. The struggle, the fight, the resolve, all explained in detail. She, of course, felt very stunned and concerned throughout the entire thing. But she relaxed when the resolve came into it.
"So you guys are alright then?" She asked.
"Of course, like I said it takes more to kill an angel." Licht said, his usual sparkling background appeared.
"Well, unless you count the slow recovery build up." Lawless added earning him an elbow to his gut.
"And I'm glad you guys managed to build a better relationship." She said while they both sputtered.
"I still hate his guts." Licht spat out, glaring.
"Uwaa~ how mean Licht-tan! Even if you did kick me in the gut several times." Lawless cried, even tears sprung from his eyes. He ran to (Y/n) hugging her and wailing loudly.**
"(Y/n)-chan! He's being mean again!"
"Ehh?" (Y/n) blinked extremely confused, she didn't know Lawless could cry this much. She only sat still, awkwardly patting Lawless' back as he continued his cries. Licht's temper started to grow again, he just hated whenever someone touched her or just got so close. Especially when it was a demon, it brought out a murderous intent in him. He seethed, growling pushing Lawless quite harshly, stepping on his gut in the process, and dragging (Y/n) away. When they were gone, Lawless' eyes glinted and he grinned widely, despite the pain.
"Nothing like jealousy to help push a confession~"
-------------------------------
(Y/n) felt very confused as to why she was being dragged away. She pulled back to resist his pull, and that made him stop. He stood still, back still facing her. She could hear him breath heavily as if trying to calm himself. She sighed, walking over to face him. His eyes were downcast, covered by strands of hair. She crossed her arms under her chest, looking quite unrelenting.
"What was that about?" She asked. She understood he had a temper, but she wanted to know why drag her out this far.
"I...just..." He tried to say something, but couldn't and it made him grow more frustrated. His arms gestured wildly and his fists were once again clenched. Her features softened, her finger lifted his chin, and he gazed at her gentle eyes. His heart skipped.
"What's wrong? You seem really upset, is there anyway I can help you?"
Sometimes he wished she wasn't so nice, so that his heart wouldn't stop racing. He could feel her genuine care, respect, everything. He wanted to reciprocate it.
"Yes, actually. Teach me, how to say the words you tell someone when you really like them."
"Uh..." She paused, taken aback by the request. Licht liked someone? Her heart started skipping, and the blush reappeared. Could it possibly be...no. They lost most of their contact for almost a month, it was possible that it wasn't. But still, possibilities are endless. She shook her head, and just smiled at him.
"Come on. It's easy to say."
"Not when you're just experiencing it for the first time." He argued defeated.
"Hm, is it hard to say when you're looking at their face." How ironic this scene was. All he needed to do was just say it and all would be known.
"Yeah..."
"Maybe, closing your eyes would help? I heard some people do that before public speeches." She said.
"You know what this is stupid, I'm-" He tried to walk away but she caught his wrist in a strong hold.
"Come on. It's not gonna make you feel better if you don't just practice saying it. In fact it just makes you more stressed." She argued lightly, it brought him back and made him stand stiff where he was.
"Hmm..." She hummed, then moved to cover his eyes for him. Her hand felt cold due to the low temperature, a stark difference from the warmth of his face.
"O-Oi..."
"Are they closed?"
He shut his mouth and nodded.
"Ok so just repeat what I say." She said taking her hand away. The instructions sounded familiar, what happened with Lawless a few hours prior. The scene now felt almost laughably ironic.
"I.." She spoke.
"I..." He repeated.
"Love.."
"L-L..."
She snickered slightly at his hesitance. It was the first time she heard him stutter this badly.
"You can do it." She cheered him on.
"Love..." Finally he got the word out.
"You..."
"You.." Now the path had been paved. And there was only one way to go.
"Now just repeat it again until you don't stutter." She ordered.
"I L-Love you.."
"Just one more time." She urged, she actually felt a little proud. He really did seem to be struggling, but to seem him overcome it made her happy.
"I love you." He said loud, clear.
"Yay!" She cheered happily laughing.
"(Y/n).." His eyelids lifted showing his gleaming grey blue eyes. His voice went back to a quiet whisper. Her even leaned in staring into her eyes, not even blinking. His expression serious even with his pink cheeks, the same expression he always has when he's in a concert.
"Eh?" Her voice caught in her throat as she heard her name.
"I love you."
A/N: 5.7 k words... wtf me. Not much to say except confession chapter.

**What I got from the manga is that once the Jinn escaped him he seemed more crybabyish? Or emotional rather? Unless I read the entire thing wrong, and just screwed up completely.
