"Hey Angel" I heard Beth's voice behind me. I didn't answer, I just kept quiet starring at the letter I saw in the locker this morning it went like this;

Dear Angel

Did you think why strangers would take you to their house just like that without wanting something in return? And oh yes Good morning. I hope you slept well.

"Hey Angel" Beth called my name while shaking me from behind.

"Am alive stop shaking me" I replied rudely. I didn't mean for it to come out that way. Beth retreated and went to her locker.

"Am sorry" Beth said while taking out her books. I turned to face her.

"Look am sorry if that came wrong it just is having a bad morning " I lied. Well technically am not lying. This letter just got me thinking.

"It's ok, I get it" Beth replied.

"Beth since we still have time before class I want to ask some questions and please don't say I don't need to know," I told her while looking in her eyes to show am serious.

"OK shoot" Beth replied.

"Why did you take me to your house yesterday?" I asked.

"Cuz you are my friend" she replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"We met yesterday" I replied while raising my eyebrow.

"I just get this trust vibe from you OK" turning her back to me "I feel like I can you, like you will be a good friend, in fact, my best friend" she answered, even if she wasn't facing me I could see that she was turning red, "why is she red it's not like she telling me she likes me or something," I thought to myself.

"Turn around and face me so people will not think you are asking me out," I told her cause I don't want people thinking that because I straight as a pole and luckily she turned. "Even if you feel any vibe that does not mean you take them to your house immediately, it may be someone dangerous, do you understand me, I know they say trust your instinct but it, not every time your instinct is correct"

"You are saying it like I took someone else instead of you to my house" she replied.

"I know but one day you might take someone else who is dangerous to your house and put all of you in danger," I told her because I care I wouldn't want anything happening to her, she is my first friend in this school, I hope she understands.

"OK I understand" she replied and I smiled "Is that what caused you to have a bad morning?" She asked.

"No" I replied and she raised her eyebrow and I also raised mine "yes," I said after I couldn't stand her looking at me like that "It just felt fake you know, you met me yesterday and immediately took me to your house, I also made a bunch of friends in just one day. I hope you understand." I told her with honesty.

"I understand" She replied smiling and just then the bell rang "let's go to class" and we went to class. After a while, it was time for lunch just like yesterday I bought what beth bought.

"Hey guys" I greeted them. And everyone mumbles a hi "Ehm Wes how did you get to know my house was yesterday. I didn't give you my address" I asked. Is it me or did he just swallow? "Answer me already"

"When you were playing with Natasha I took out your phone and browsed through " he answered looking kinda scared, it was then I noticed he wasn't scared of me he was scared of Beth but why would he be scared of her.

"You turned my phone silent," I asked. It's now it clicked no wonder I didn't hear my mom call.

"Yeah am sorry for doing that. I know it's uncomfortable, am so sorry" He said looking at me. From his facial expression, he looked sincere but his eyes betrayed him. I knew he wasn't sorry he was saying it because of Beth.

"Okay, I understand" I decided to play along I don't want to cause trouble between them.

"Did you listen to what Ms. Williams taught today?" Natasha asked. Ms. Williams is our English teacher. I nodded "so great you would know the answers to the assignment "

"If you want to fail English then you can let me do your homework" I answered with sincerity, I was always better at calculation subjects.

"No I wasn't planning on giving you my assignment I was going to teach you " and Nishan choked on his drink. I raised an eyebrow as to why he was choking.

"She doesn't know sh*t in English" Abbi replied rubbing Nishan back "She knows we won't do her homework for her that why she asked you" She added.

"Okay but does he need a nurse or something," I asked getting worried as to why he hasn't stopped coughing

"Stop that this instant" Beth said and he stopped immediately something tells me Beth is the boss around here.

"Am going to the restroom?" Nishan said standing up and he left.

"So Abbi how is the book cover business," I asked since everyone was now quiet.

"It's going well" she answered and the awkward silence came back, I was never good at keeping long conversations. And the bell rang Thank God because the silence was killing me.

"Okay bye am going to class" I stood up and left immediately. I heard a wait from Beth but I didn't wait I just went to the locker room because my next class was P.E. I went to the gym after changing. I saw Alison smirking at me. "Why is she smirking at me," I thought as I shot her a glare.

"So today we will be playing Dodge ball" Alison finally spoke up "as always I will lead the winning team and" she paused looking around and her eyes stopped on me "and our new friend here" pulling me towards her "will lead the losing team" she added smirking. "Wait isn't the teacher supposed to be in charge," I thought to myself. As if reading my thoughts she looked at me and said "teacher left me in charge, now enough with the chit chat let's begin" she walks away from me "I pick Alisha, Alicia, Beth, Matt, Ben." She shouted. "Beth!! how could she pick Beth?!" "Angel are you picking your team or should I pick for you" "She is supposed to hate nerds right and beth is a nerd so why pick her maybe she just good at the game. just then someone taps me from behind cutting through my thoughts. I turned and saw a guy I haven't met before.

"Let's go play the gameshbegbegunesheuy said looking at me.

"I haven't picked my team yet"

"Alison picked for you" He replied
"Is she allowed to do that?"

"You weren't listening so she picked for you" he answered

"Okay let's go" I followed him to where the game is to play and saw my teammate I don't think these guys have to throw anything in their lives "but what could go wrong," I said and went to my position then the game began almost immediately all my teammates were wiped out leaving only me and the five of them cause one of the balls had hit Beth and she left. I prepare to dodge the balls which I know is impossible because all of them were looking at me. And all at once, all the balls were thrown my way I couldn't dodge anyone as I about to leave my position cause they won. But it's didn't look like they were done cause they continued throwing balls at me. I did my best to dodge the balls but I failed horribly.

"Stop that this instant" someone shouted making them stop immediately. I turned to see you shouted and saw it was a handsome young man.

"Who are," Alison asked seductively somehow she managed to get close to him, How did she move that fast.

"I'm Tony Moore your new gym teacher. I came when the bell went but you" nodding towards Alison "handled the situation by picking out a game but I see it was for selfish reasons for someone I just met I'm disappointed." He said. I could see the disappointment on his face as he said that. I wish I could video this moment because the look on Alison's face was priceless. I had to try hard to keep the smile away from my face and when I say hard I mean it. "most of the period is gone so you guys can do whatever you want for now" he said and he walked towards me "are you okay" he asked

"Am okay now sir thanks for intervening" "but you could act before they started throwing the ball at me" I said the remaining part in my head. I didn't want to be rude in our first meeting. He smiled and left and Beth took his space.

"Are you Alright? Were you hurt? Do you need to see the nurse?" she asked immediately with concern written all over her face.

"Am alright" she smiled "but why did Alison choose you to be on her team?" I asked.

"Am very good at dodge ball but I tried to get out of the game immediately though" she replied. I didn't say anything I just smiled and then told her I was going to change. I left before she could reply. I got to the locker room and changed. I was about to leave when I saw a neatly folded paper. I picked it up and read.

Dear Angel

I must say am disappointed at Beth for not refusing to play against you and she says she thinks you two could best friends.

"What the fuck." I thought to myself first of all how did he hear the conversation I had with Beth this morning I don't think there any anyone there listening, second of all I don't know who this M.W is but he didn't do anything to save me from the balls and he calls him my guardian angel. I got to my locker to carry my book for my next class and I saw another neatly folded paper. I picked it up and read it

Dear Angel

You don't think I didn't try to save you. Do you believe that Mr. Tony Moore was there all along? you can guess who went to call him.

I guess he did do something then. I left my book to go for my last class for the day which was History. I got in and sat on a seat next to Beth.

"Today we are watching a video of an important man that did something great in life," she says and played the video.

"Isn't she supposed to tell his name or what he did firstDid I askskedasked

"Mrs... Johnson is a lazy woman so will just let the video teach you then she goes to sleep" she replied.

"Am sure she won't go to sleep. She is supposed to explain along with the video" I replied hoping that she was lying, I story.

"I will count 1 to 10 then she will be asleep" she replied.
"Okay"

"1..... 2..... 3..... 4..... 5" and she was asleep "oh my gosh I didn't have to reach 10 this time" Beth replied smiling. The remainder of the class was uneventful except for the time when someone decided it will be funny to draw in Mrs. Johnson's face and trust me it was really funny that I couldn't stop laughing. Soon our laughter was loud enough to wake Mrs. Johnson. She got up and shouted at us to keep quiet and went back to funny sleep. After a while, the bell rang and I walked home luckily my new school was not far from my house.

"How was school today honey," My mom asked immediately I entered the house.

"It was good" I replied.

"Okay, you hungry" mom asked.
"Yeah"

"Great go change and I will bring you something"

"Okay," I replied and headed towards the stairs. I got into my room and received a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: you home yet?
Me: who is this?
Unknown: it's me Beth, Wes kinda took your number. I saved the number
Me: yeah am at home
Beth: just wanted to ask if you are avoiding me.
Me: what do you mean? Now I'm was confused
Beth: you left lunch today, I asked for you to wait you didn't and after P.E class you left without waiting for my reply and then you went home without saying goodbye. Oh, I was supposed to wait for her then wait for her reply and tell her goodbye before I go home I didn't know that.
Me: if I was avoiding you I wouldn't tell you I was alright then I wouldn't have talked to you in history class and I certainly won't be texting you right now.
Beth: oh...k. I was just thinking.
Me: thinking about what.
Beth: don't worry
Me: okay

"That wweirdrdwrd, "thought to myself meant to change. Afterward decided to watch a movie.

"Hey" I looked up to see mom standing at ding a plate.

"Yeah thanks," I told her as she handed me the plate "when is dad coming home"

"Late" she replied. I nodded and she left "I miss spending time with dad," I thought to myself before I went back to my movie.
