chapter 15.2

He told her.

Ven told Adria everything about her father. He told her that her father, Eden was the king of the demon world and he was really powerful. Despite being the king, Eden thought humans were a kind species. So the Council decided on sending him to earth for a little research on how human kind is cruel. But it backfired since he fell in love with one of the very human (her mother) he was supposed to hate. And when the people in the demon word found out, they wanted to kill him and his family but as he was powerful, he managed to protect his daughter (Adria) by giving his powers and building a shield for her and her mother.

"So, you're telling me that I have powers?" Adria asked, not portraying any emotions even though her world was spinning in confusion and she didn't know what to believe. She had gone through a lot these past few months but she knew better than to believe that she has some kind of powers. Well, at least not this easily...
She had a few strange incidences in her childhood that would make sense if she did have superpowers. Of all the incidents, that one bugged her every night.

Maybe this is all a twisted dream and she wakes up in her bed safe and sound. But as much as she wanted to believe that, the aching little bruises from that fight was enough evidence that this is all painfully real.

"Yes." Ven said, his tone solemn.

Uncharacteristically, Adria wanted to laugh hearing him say such a childishly surreal thing with a straight face. But she knew him (unfortunately) enough to know that he would never use his deep tone unless it is completely serious. It was like she wanted to believe him just because she had never seen in this side of him, he is always... like moonlight. Sure he is really charming but it wasn't just that. He's always brightly lit even though he looks like he was crafted to be in the darkness and it tickled her brain. But no matter how blinding the light of his charisma was her logical sense could never fall victim for it.

"So what are you?" Adria asked curiously.

"I'm....Ven?" He said, not sure how to answer.

What was he supposed to say? "I'm an angel from the demon world who needs to kill you because you are a threat to the demon world and to my father's throne.", he obviously couldn't say this! He has to lie. Why doesn't he want to lie?

It certainly wasn't because of his morals, his morals were long lost. Then why?

"I know that. I was asking what kind of creature you are." Adria deadpan.

"An angel."

Well, it isn't a lie....
Adria simply nods and zones out. For the first time, silence between them was an comfortable for him. He felt like a nervous kid being called to the principal's office for punching a bully.
Huh, how strange and specific...

"You should move to my apartment!" He blurted out.

Adria's head spun towards Ven, eyes wide and said "What!?!"

He caught both of them off guard with that statement. But it made sense. If he couldn't help but to save her every time she is in danger, why not make it easy for him? And if they spend more time together, he could get to know her and finally figure out how to snatch her powers.

It definitely wouldn't be easy but he is a persuasive guy. He will figure out something, right?

"I mean, it would be easy for the both of us. If you're in trouble I could save you more quickly before any harm-"

"I don't need saving!" She said, cutting him off.

It was true. Adria is more than capable of saving herself in any normal situation. But that's the thing, it isn't any normal situation and she knew it.

"But you do need my help..."

She needs more than just 'help' but I couldn't say that if he wanted her to move into my apartment.

"Well, if you really want to help me, you would have moved into my ho-"

"That's a great idea!!!"

"What? No!!! You can't move into my house!!!" Adria exclaimed hurrily.

What had she done!!? Adria would never in her mortal life want Ven to move in with her. Can you imagine? Actually, she can and the vision is not good. She would have to bare his annoying personality all the time!!! Some might say his bubbly parsona is charming but it's headache inducing for her. Even when they hung out as 'friends', should couldn't bare with it more than one hour. Why was she friends with him again?

'You're full of bullshit!' The voice in Adria's head mockingly scolded her.

"Why?" Said Ven, slightly whiny.

"Because...because I don't trust you!"

And she didn't. How could she trust a man who claims to be an angel who came to save her from God-knows-what danger? For all she knows, he could be the danger! Although she doubted it, it surely was a possibility. Plus, she didn't even know that he had superpowers until now despite knowing him for 3 months. And he could still be hiding things from her even though she didn't want to believe it.

"Why don't trust me? I literally put my life on the line for you just minutes ago!!!" Ven pointed out but Adria was too paranoid to believe that.

"You also lied to me for months!"

"As if you were gonna believe all this from the start!!!"

"If you had showed me your...your magic, I would have believed you!!!" Adria said, waving her hands at the word 'magic'. At this point, they were just bickering like kids. So in order to stop arguing about nonsense, she held up her hand and continued, "Look, the point is; I don't want you to move in with me. Not now and not ever!!!"

"But-" Adria started to push him out the door before you can argue further and closed the door.

The same night

"Now who's it?" Frowning, Adria mumbled to herself but went to open the door nonetheless.

She thought it would be Ember but it was Ven...

"What are you doing here?" She asked bitterly.

"My apartment burnt down."
