"It's a good arrest. If Page wasn't arrested at the scene, where it solely looked like she's the one that killed the victim. There has to be something we don't know about." Sam said as she set the file in Foggy's hands, and he frowned.

"She's not wrong, Foggy. Something isn't right about this case. I can feel it." Matt spoke up as Foggy laughed.

"You can feel it? All right, I'm just gonna say this once, and we can move on. You don't necessarily show the best judgment when beautiful women are involved, Matt."

Matt chuckled softly. "How would I even know if she's a beautiful woman?"

"I don't know! It's kinda spooky, actually. But if there's a stunning woman with questionable character in the room, Matt Murdock's gonna find her and Foggy Nelson is gonna suffer." Foggy said as he pointed to Sam, who raised a brow at him.

Matt put his hands on his hips, laughing. "All right... I don't disagree with anything you're saying." He stammered out as Sam laughed.

"So I guess I have missed a bit. The player and a pawn." Sam chipped in as she sat down at the desk, looking over the file again.

"I'd say I'm more of the king in this situation. Matt can go anywhere and get anything. I move one space and it's doomsday." Foggy frowned as the two chuckled. "Yes, laugh away at my pain."

"Do you think someone else could have been in the apartment? Planted her to make it look like she killed the victim?" Sam asked as Foggy's eyes widened.

"Maybe that explains why she hasn't been arrested. They are hiding evidence that someone else was there." Foggy snapped his fingers and pointed to Sam. "You're great at this. And who knows, it probably would have taken us longer to figure that out!"

"If I haven't said it already, I'm a pretty good lawyer. But I gotta feeling you guys will be really good at this." Sam hoped as Foggy looked over at Matt.

"If she doesn't win us this case I'm blaming you."

"You're the one that suggested we have her help." Matt laughed.

"You're the one that met her first." Foggy crossed his arms as Sam started laughing before she stopped as the phone in the desk rang, Foggy quick to answer it.

"Hello? Yeah this is him. Okay— oh. Oh my god. Okay we're on our way." Foggy quickly hung up as Sam and Matt frowned in confusion, clearly not listening to the other side. "One of the officers watching Karen just tried to kill her."

"Holy shit—" Sam stood up quickly, slamming the file shut and shoving it in her purse as the three of them started towards the door without another word.

"You let Nelson and Murdock's client nearly get murdered in your hands?! Who was watching the security cams when this was going on?" Sam asked as soon as the doors open, one of the officers staring at her with wide eyes.

"The cameras went offline around the time—"

"Of course they did." Sam turned to Matt and Foggy, who were about as upset as Sam was. Most likely more.

"I'm gonna make this easy, Detectives. Get the ADA in here to release Miss Page and we'll recommend to our charming, media-friendly client that she not plaster the airwaves with how she was nearly killed in your custody." Matt spoke up as Detective Blake looked over at Sam, a familiar look in her eyes that he has seen before.

Anger, maybe. Fear mixed in it. But more of it was fogged over with worry for a client.

"And I'll agree not to make cooing noises for the rest of this meeting when I think of the civil suit that we have on our hands." Foggy piped up with a grin, Detective Blake frowning.

"How do you know they aren't charging her?" He asked as Sam shrugged with an obvious look.

"Besides the fact that you were required to do so four hours ago if you were gonna do it at all?"

"Not to mention that everything at the scene points directly at her for the killing, yet she still doesn't have cuffs in her wrists and ankles." Sam pointed out as Foggy nodded.

"Along with how the security cameras on Miss Page's detention area went on the fritz right before the assault." He mentioned once again as Detective Blake wiped a hand over his face.

"Release our client, Detective. I won't ask again." Matt ordered as Detective Blake glared at Matt.

After a few moments of threats towards Matt, Blake went off to get Karen. "There's no way there wasn't anyone else in the apartment. Explains why she hasn't been arrested, like I said earlier." Sam turned to Matt and Foggy.

"They'd have to turn her over, then." Foggy shrugged as Matt shook his head, gripping his cane.

"Only if she were charged. She hangs herself in her cell, everything goes to shit."

"I snatched some of these tea bags from the financial office." Foggy smirked as if he had gotten away with an actual robbery, handing Karen a cup.

"So. How are you feeling?" Matt asked as Karen sipped her tea, looking down at the ground.

"Better. Thanks for uh... for getting me out." She muttered as the three lawyers shrugged.

"Don't thank us yet. Just because they released you doesn't mean they won't eventually bring charges." Foggy said as Sam nodded quickly.

"Old client of mine got released after being accused of murder when it clearly wasn't them. Few days later, they were charged. By the next week, I had found the killer on my own." Sam said as Karen nodded quickly.

"So... you could find who actually did this?" She asked as Sam nodded slowly.

"Hopefully, Matt and Foggy are as good as I claim them to be."

"Which also means it's crucial you don't talk to anyone unless it's the three of us." Matt suggested as Karen chuckled softly.

"Well, it's not like I have anyone to talk to." Karen said in a quiet voice, Matt tilting his head slightly.

"Do you have anywhere you can stay tonight?" He asked as Karen set her mug down.

"My apartments not far—" the three lawyers started shaking their heads quickly.

"You can't go back there." Foggy interrupted as Karen frowned in confusion.

"Miss Page, it's important that not only you are safe, but that Nelson and Murdock make sure of that. Your apartment isn't a safe place for you Toni, probably won't be for a while." Sam said as Karen nodded slowly in understanding. "You can stay with me tonight. I have a pull-out couch that you can sleep on until it's safe for you to stay in your own home."

"I think that's a good idea, Sam." Foggy nodded as Matt did as well.

"Do you know whose trying to kill you?" Matt asked, Karen quit to shake her head.

"No..."

"Do you know why they are trying to kill you?" He continued, Karen pausing for a moment as Sam's wings began to twitch under her skin, so much that it was uncomfortable.

Karen faltered, sucking in a sharp breath as she slowly nodded. "Yes."
