"So let me get this straight" Law puffed his cheeks and glared daggers into the nervous redhead in front of him, "I've been waiting for fucking hours for you to get back, and when you do it's just to tell me I'm doing this thing too? AND I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOU!?"

Kidd nodded and immediately looked away as Law started to growl unhappily, "WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO DO THIS!?!?, AND WHY IS MY HOME, THE BASE!?!?"

Now it was the serial killer who was glaring at the grumpy raven, "ask that crazy ass goddess/god (Y/N) of yours or something, she's/he's crazy"

The guardian knew he couldn't blame Kidd for any of this so he just settled on childishly pouting and crossing his arms, real classy Law, reeeaaal classy, "I swear that woman/man just loves to make me suffer" he mumbled with a sigh.

Kidd raised an invisible eyebrow, "you know her/him?" Law nodded his head and fell back onto the carpet in a snow angel pose, it almost made it seem like he really was laying on a blanket of snow.

"I once insulted her/him when she/he tried to give me an order...they've been finding new ways to torture me ever since" the raven shivered as one particular unpleasant memory got into his mind and infested his memory, "*sigh* I hate to admit it though, there's no going back on the goddess's/god's choices so we'll have to make do with them.."

Kidd hummed and groaned in annoyance, "I'm still not okay with having you working on this, it makes me uncomfortable" those words seemed to have changed Law's whole personality when he let out a chuckle and sat up with a smirk.

"Awww, is someone worried about me?" The guardian chuckled when the redhead blushed like a strawberry, but instead of giving the other a retort, he just remained silent and grimaced, Robin was no weakling, and that worried Kidd to no end, who knows how strong this Baroque works is.

Noticing the other's lack of responce, Law got up and hugged his troubled lover in a comforting manner, "don't worry Kidd-ya, you said so yourself, I won't even be needing to leave the house....just think of this as some..spy mission, with me as the cool communicator guy, the guy with the computer" Law gently cooed.

The redhead quickly latched his arms onto the other making Law softly squeak in suprise like a small kitten, but instead of making fun of him like he would have, Kidd just tightened his grip and sighed in dread, "I just don't wanna risk you, I want you to be safe Law, safe and sound"

The two didn't let go for a while and sat there in a thoughtful silence, so after finally feeling satisfied, Kidd slowly unwrapped his arms from the other and looked down at the raven, Law stared back into Kidd's warm eyes and smiled "Kidd-ya, you forgot that I used to do this kind of thing daily right?"

The redhead was just about to give a retort when the doorbell rang, "Ahh, that must be the other members of the team" the guardian hummed and stroaded to the front door with Kidd closely tailing behind.

When he opened the door he was met with the familiar group, only a lot less cheerful...and slightly beat up.

Luffy was almost dead looking, his smile was nowhere to be seen and his eyes were sleepless and baggy, devoid of any joy, his straw wings were limp and messily oriented and his body was covered in recent bandages and bruises.

The others were in a similar condition, all joyless and sad and beat up...less than Luffy though, but still just like corpses.

It was a sorry sight indeed to the two, the Strawhats were meant to be all that's bright and cheery in the world, and this was just something that should have never happened, it was sick.

"Luffy-ya.." the teen gave him a sore smile and looked down at his feet, "don't worry about me guys, this isn't the first time I've lost someone...I'll get over it.." Luffy shook his head and immediately 'perked' up, but Law could see through it.

Luffy bitterly chuckled, "and besides, we'll avenge Robin no matter what it takes, I'm happy you two were the one's assigned with us"

The serial killer though slightly smirked, he knew those guys will be just fine, after letting them in, Law got everyone seated and gathered in the living room for a meeting.

"So...I guess we all know why we're here.." he started.

Nami pouted with a dead gaze and shook her head, "to find Robin's killer, discover baroque works secret plan....and if possible stop them"

Zoro, who was depressed like all the others, nodded his head and leaned back with a troubled frown, 'well if this wasn't awkward..' the redhead sweat dropped and stared around the quiet group nervously, things just got a lot more complicated than supposed to be.
