7 Unexpected
Part 7 Unexpected
Khushi looked at the person who came from the opposite side, looking at her sternly. Khushi turned her face opposite to him as he was the Ex-program manager of her company. Undoubtedly, he was Arnav. She rolled her eyes when he stopped the bike. She knew what will happen next. He was going to use the opportunity to get a place in her GOOD BOOK. He was going to ask her to sit on his bike... bloody mankind...She got ready to deny his help because she didn't want to get his help... correction... ANYONE's help.
But, what she expected didn't happen. Arnav removed his phone and called Shashi. Shashi attended it right away.
"Hello, Arnav..."
"Sir, it seems Ma'am's car is broken down."
"Ohh... God..."
Before Shashi asked him anything, Arnav himself took lead.
"Shall I call a mechanic and book a cab for her?"
"Please Arnav... I will be grateful to you..."
"Please don't exaggerate a simple matter, sir... It's my pleasure..."
"Thank you Arnav..."
They disconnected the call. Arnav called his mechanic friend and also booked a cab.
Khushi frowned, seeing him standing, leaning on his bike, without approaching her. She called Shashi to ask them to send her a car.
"Dad..."
"Wait for a while... Arnav had booked a cab and also called a mechanic... ok?"
"Mmmm"
She disconnected the call, looking at Arnav wondering. That man's way of handling problems looked different. She saw Arnav coming towards her, crossing the road. She got alert and neatened herself.
But, Arnav didn't talk to her but stopped a towing vehicle in which two men came. He showed him Khushi's car. Khushi understood that they were mechanics. They checked the car and said something to Arnav. Arnav said something to the mechanic in a gauzy tone. The mechanic turned toward Khushi and said,
"It will take one to two hours to repair the car, ma'am... there is a block in the petrol pump. I will deliver the car to your home tomorrow morning." the mechanic said to Khushi.
Khushi nodded ok.
"We will tow the car to the carriage, Arnav sir." The mechanic said.
"Ok... I will message you Gupta house address..."
"Ok, sir..."
Tying the car with the towing vehicle, the mechanic took Khushi's car to his carriage.
At the same time, the cab arrived at the place.
The cab driver got down from the car and looked here and there. Arnav came forward.
"It's me who booked the cab." He said to the cab driver.
"Let's go, sir..."
"You have to drop her not me..." he said pointing at Khushi and looking at her without saying anything.
Khushi got inside the cab and the driver started the cab. As Khushi didn't expect, Arnav followed the cab, giving enough space because he didn't want Khushi to know him following. But, in a turning, Khushi saw him following the cab no need to say she was amazed. She hated people who take advantage of the situation and people who flaunt giving their helping hand. Now, the scene was completely different and opposite.
She got down from the cab, in front of GH. While paying money for the cab, she ran her eyes at the street corner and saw Arnav turning his bike and leaving the place. He left the place after confirming her safety. Khushi understood that. She was touched by the gentleman's gentle approach.
Shashi had been waiting for her.
"The mechanic took the car..."
"Yeah...Arnav told me"
She nodded yes and headed to the room and stopped, hearing Shashi's words.
"Thank God, Arnav came for your help at the right time..."
Cutting him,
"I was not waiting for anyone's help. I would have managed the situation even if he hadn't come..."
Shashi sighed and she went to her room with an attitude. She knew she would have struggled if Arnav had not helped her. For the first time, she felt bad for not thanking someone for the help. But, she didn't want Shashi to know that... not only Shashi... but also Arnav.
What to do? She was like that. She never thanked anyone... in fact; she had not faced a situation to thank anyone so far. After her mother's demise, she stopped, searching for GOOD in people. She was not ready to waste her precious time on unnecessary things because she thought that; people can only be pretended to be good. She couldn't even predict her father, so she didn't want to predict anyone and didn't want to get hurt. But, now...she couldn't hold herself from thinking about Arnav. He stood at his limit not taking advantage of the situation and she liked it.
The next day
Khushi couldn't see Arnav that day. She knew he must be with his team. As the fashion show was closed in, he was supervising the stage arrangements.
After a while, as usual, she went for a ROUNDS and saw Arnav's gang in the canteen. They were enjoying their time as usual. She crossed them without giving heed to them. They were discussing something it seems. But, her leg got struck, hearing NK's words.
"Where is the CANCER man?"
"Shut up... don't say like that. Arnav won't like to talk about it." Shyam warned NK.
"What's wrong, Shyam? He is not telling lie..." Akash said.
"Whatever... we should not talk about it... don't you know he gets angry if you talk about it? He is our friend. If he doesn't like something then we should stop talking about it..."
"He is right, guys. It will be better if we don't talk about it." Aman said.
"Ok yaar... I'm sorry..." NK said joining his hands.
Shyam nodded yes and left the place.
Khushi stood with a shocking expression. The word CANCER echoed in her ears again and again. That was the only word she hated the most... feared the most... that was what took her mother away from her... forever... she never wanted to hear the same word in her life again. She never wanted anyone to get affected by the disease... not even her enemies... She felt bad for Arnav... She sympathized with him... Suddenly, Arnav got a soft corner in her heart...
But... Arnav's friends had not talked about the disease but about his zodiac sign.
To be continued...
