2 Program Manager

Part 2 Program manager

The next day

Shashi opened his eyes with a soft groan. Taking the intercom, the nurse called the doctor. Within a few minutes, the doctor arrived at the ICU. After ten minutes, the doctor came out.

"He gained his consciousness. Any one of you can go and see him."

Garima took a step and saw Khushi's angry glare. She stopped at the same place and Khushi got inside the ICU. Shashi looked at Khushi and tears rolled down from his eyes. He opened his fist and gestured her to come to him. Khushi rushed to him and clutched his palm.

"BABUJI..."

Shashi closed his eyes to let out the teardrops which made his vision blur. He gripped her hand and smiled.

"You are alright... ok?" she said.

Shashi nodded yes.

"I'm going... I will be outside...you can call me if you want anything."

Shashi nodded ok.

Khushi looked at the doctor. She left the ICU and the doctor followed her.

"Tell me, doctor. How is he?"

"I already told you, Ms. Gupta. He needs rest. He can't stand the stress. Make sure he is relaxing."

Khushi nodded ok.

"You can take him home after two days."

"Thank you, doctor."

She sat on the chair. Garima didn't dare to enter into the ICU until Khushi was there. After an hour, the nurse handed Khushi the medicine list. Khushi went to the pharmacy to get the medicine. Using the chance, Garima hurried to the ICU to meet Shashi. Taking very little time, she met Shashi and came out before Khushi came. This is how the next two days passed.

Shashi got discharged from the hospital. Shashi was taken to downstairs by the wheelchair. He waited at the entrance of the hospital.

Garima waited not hurrying to get into the car. Khushi may wish to sit with her father in the back seat.

But, Khushi got into another car as she was not ready to travel in the same car.

Without talking to Shashi, Khushi went to her room after reaching home. She closed the door and ran her eyes. Her eyes halted at her mother's photo which was hanging on the wall. She felt her legs going weak. She cried falling in the bed.

This is why she avoided, coming to India. She couldn't hold herself from remembering her mother. Not that, she didn't remember her mother when she was in Swiss. She did...and it's different... this place holds a special place in her heart. This is where she was with her mother. Being an only daughter, she had been very special to her mother. She was never been alone until her mother was alive. Her parents never let her down for anything.

She had gone down when her mother died in CANCER. Her mother hid the truth of cancer from Khushi because she didn't want to make Khushi cry. Khushi got to know the real condition of her mother only at the last stage of cancer.

After her mother's death, Khushi became fond of Shashi. And Shashi didn't disappoint her until he said YES to the second marriage.

Khushi sat on the bed, wiping her tears, getting out of the flashback. She decided to cook the food on her own. She didn't like to have anything from Garima's hand.

But, to Khushi's surprise, Garima didn't cook. Shashi had been appointed a cook and a helper for Khushi as he knew Khushi's mindset. Khushi got relaxed by the arrangements.

The next day

Khushi got down from upstairs, hearing Shashi's stance.

"Garima, call the Manager and ask him to come here. I have to sign an important file."

Khushi came and sat in front of him. The servant gave her coffee.

"Why did you come out Dad? Can't you be just resting in the room?"

"No, Beta... I can't be sitting at home. Gupta Industry needs me."

Khushi sipped the coffee, listening to him.

"I hope you are comfortable here..." Shashi asked.

"I'm... you don't need to get stressed about me. I will be alright."

"Ask the cook your special dishes... they will provide you whatever you want..."

"I told you, Dad... I will take care of it."

Shashi noticed that she called him DAD. She called him BABUJI when he was in the ICU. She must have dominated by the emotions when she saw him in the ICU.

Khushi kept the cup on the table and stood.

"You don't have to sign the files. Just be in rest. I will take care of it."

"What does that mean?" Shashi asked her.

"I mean, I will take over the business."

"Are you....?"

Cutting him,

"...sure about it. I can't be at home all the time." She said glaring at Garima.

She strode to her room, leaving surprised Shashi. He looked at Garima who was smiling at him.

"I can't believe this."

Garima nodded yes.

"Did she say anything?"

"When did she talk to me?" Garima said sadly.

Shashi gulped hard not knowing what to say. He diverted the topic.

"Did you call Di?"

"Yes. It seems she got stuck at the funeral of her husband's sister..."

"No problem... let her be there."

Garima nodded yes.

Evening

"What?" Khushi asked the servant who knocked on her room's door.

"Bhabuji is calling you."

Khushi came downstairs. She saw Shashi signing a document. He extended it to Khushi. Shashi's Lawyer Mr. Roy sent the POWER OF ATTORNEY to Shahsi and Shashi signed on it.

"Is it necessary, Dad?"

"It is...everything must be proper"

"I'm your daughter Dad... what's the need for this documentation?" she asked annoyingly.

"You have the full power in Gupta Industry. I want to say it clearly... that's why. You can take all the decisions individually. Don't need to get my acceptance for anything. It's your company from here on"

Khushi got struck. She left the place, don't to lose her mind in such things. Shashi didn't pressurize her to go to the GI right away. He let her do it by her wish.

But... Khushi was not that type who could enjoy sitting at home. She is a warrier. She had taken the decision of going to GI the next day.

Next morning

Khushi got ready to go to the GI. Shashi was awestruck, seeing her in a royal outfit. She always preferres a skirt and shirt with the coat.

"Beta, are you going somewhere?"

"Office..." she said while applying butter on the bread.

"Today itself...?"

"Time is very precious because we can never get the past time." she bit the bread.

Finishing a light breakfast, she started to the office.

Shashi called the GI manager Shyam.

"Good morning sir."

"Shyam, my daughter is coming to take over the CEO responsibility."

"When is she coming, sir?"

"She already started..."

"Whaaaat!" Shyam was shocked.

"Yeah... "

"Ok, sir... I will take care of it..."

"Ok..." Shashi disconnected the call.

To show his smartness to the new CEO, Shyam arranged a grand welcome arrangement for their new CEO unaware of her nature.

When Khushi entered in, drums played... GI lady staff showered the flowers on her... Shyam extended a flower bouquet to welcome her with a pleasant smile. Khushi removed the goggles and ran her eyes on the staff, frowning.

"What the hell is this?" She asked gritting her teeth.

"I just..."

"Is this an office or a marriage hall?"

"No ma'am... we thought to..."

"Thought about GI's growth... Don't waste your time on useless things..."

Shyam bowed down. He never faced humiliation in his experience.

"Get back to the work...depart..." she shouted at the staff.

All of them rushed to their respective cubicles.

"I want to meet all the HEADS of GI." Ordering it to Shyam, she strode to the CEO cabin with her head up.

In the next ten minutes, all the heads gathered in her cabin. Shyam introduced them one by one. Khushi noted down their names and the departments. One of the heads was missing.

"Where is the program manager?" she asked.

"He is on Leave ma'am..." Shyam said.

"What happened to him?"

"Nothing ma'am he is alright."

"Nothing...? Did he know about the condition of the office?" she asked irritatingly.

"No ma'am... actually he went to Rishikesh with his family, a week ago. So he didn't know anything, ma'am."

"Rishikesh... kedharnath... bloody old man..." Khushi murmured which was audible to Shyam. He gulped the chuckle which was about to break in his throat.

"Our next project is going to be started shortly... he is the one who has to do all the preparations... when will he come?"

"He would have been reached Delhi as of now, ma'am." Finance head, Aman said.

"He would be here in an hour ma'am." Designer head Akash said.

Khushi looked at them frowning.

At the same time, a man in his late twenties got into her cabin.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Khushi yelled at him.

"I'm program manager... Arnav Singh Raizada"

Khushi looked at him, tip to toe frowning as he was wearing low hip ripped jeans, a short shirt, and messed up hair with the beard... looking like a street Romeo.

To be continued...
