Lucy's POV

I start hyperventilating outside the room thinking of all the different conclusions that came to mind while hearing their conversation.

"Zeref, I think I hear a little mouse spying on us outside." As I hear that I instantly go quiet and teleport away from there before they caught me.
I go to some unknown part of Magnolia and stay there for a while thinking about everything that's happened.

'Who was that with Zeref?'

'What are they talking about?'

'And what's really going on?'

I try to rethink about everything that's happened, hoping that what I remember will answer my questions. Fairy Tail betrayed me, Zeref found and helped me, I'm a new person thanks to him, and now he's helping me with my revenge. Even as I recall my history there were still unanswered questions. Questions like;

'Who was pretending to be me a year ago?'

'How did Zeref know Fairy Tail was going to betray me?'

Questions like these just can't be ignored. Since it was Zeref that saved me, it has to be him that tells me the truth about everything.
I teleport back to my room where I saw Zeref conveniently waiting at the door for me, except he doesn't have his usual cocky smirk on. 
"Zeref?" I slowly start walking up to him. But as I get closer I see how serious he looks and I stop in my tracks.

"Lucy, I know you heard us talking before."

".....Well it was about me wasn't it?" I clench me fist as I start to feel the urge to start yelling at him.

"Yes. It was." His broad answer makes me even more mad so I just start screaming at him.

"Zeref what were you saying?! Who was that with you before?!! Why do you seem to know my future before anyone else does?" I starts breaking down and crying in front of him. "Please..... For once I just want to know the truth..."
I feel Zeref's arms wrap around me, except I didn't feel safe at all. I know everything is related to him somehow.

"Lucy-"

"Please just tell me the truth Zeref! I love you and I know you love me too so why are you keeping secrets from me?!" I start to cry even more on his shoulders.

"Lucy, I can't-" All of a sudden there was a loud thump within the castle causing the entire castle to shake. "Shit, there's not much time left." I hear him say.

"Zeref?" I look up and see his eyes filled with regret.

"Lucy, I'm so sorry. We don't have much time now to explain. But I know you will find out the truth eventually and when you do please remember back then I never expected any of this to happen. I never expected to fall in love with you. Please just remember that. I will love you forever, whether I'm with you or not. I'll find you again." I feel Zeref kiss me and just as he does, he teleports me away.

"Zeref?........." I raise my hands up to my cheeks to feel that I'm crying.

"Luce....." I feel someone run up to me and hug me. Realizing it's Natsu, I instinctively hug back. I look around and see that I'm in the middle of the Fairy Tail guild and everyone is watching us, but it doesn't matter as I cry and cry onto Natsu's chest.

Before I know it I feel metal around my wrists and I see that I was being handcuffed by Erza from behind.
"Erza! What are you doing?!" Natsu yells.

"Natsu, Lucy, I'm sorry but Lucy has some explaining to do and I don't want here using any of her new magic on us." As she said that, I knew, everything I worked so hard with Zeref for, was over. Fairy Tail knows the truth.

"That doesn't mean you need to handcuff her! Be more civil about this!" I put my hand to Natsu's chest and stop him from arguing any further.

"Natsu it's fine. I can answer your questions Erza."

"Okay. Come with me." I stand up and follow her to Makarov's office.

"Master I've brought her." Erza says as she opens the door.

"Good. Take a seat Lucy." I sit down on the seat in front of his desk. As I look around I can see other S-Class members her, like Mira and Laxus. "Now Lucy, first tell me, did you really lose you memory?"

"....No. It was all an act for my revenge."

"What was your revenge Lucy?" Mira asked.

"To make you all feel the same pain you made me feel one year ago. To take over everything and rule with Zeref." As I said Zeref's name I could feel the mood in the room darken.

"How did you meet Zeref?" Makarov asked.

"He was there. Before it all happened he warned me to not come back here that day. But I ignored him and chose to trust and believe you all and look where that got me." I held up my handcuffs. "He was the only one who helped after you all left me. He promised me happiness and even more, he promised me revenge."

"Lucy, revenge got you to this state you are in. Being handcuffed and being questioned for associating with the most evil wizard that ever lived." Erza said.

"I know, but it's all over now. The plans are ruined and I'm sure you know about the real spell..." I look on the book that contains spell on the table.

"Yes, Levy unscripted it a couple hours ago. But Lucy even if it did work, were you really willing to sacrifice your life to bring back Acnologia's true form just for your revenge?" My eyes immediately shot up at the book and I opened it and read the pages containing the spell.

"No, what are you talking about? The spell isn't supposed to do that." I read through the spell, everything is completely different from what Zeref told me it does. The spell is for a Celestial Wizard to open the time gate and take Acnologia to come to the present time, but in return the Celestial Wizard would have to sacrifice her life.

"Lucy that's the truth, I'm sorry. I don't know what Zeref told you but this is the real spell you were going to preform."

Then everything hit me. Zeref was talking to Acnologia's human form at the castle. Zeref, whom I trusted and saved me was lying to me from the start.

"N-no... he would never.... I loved him...." I could see the regret and sadness on everyone's faces. "NO!!" I go out of control and break free from the handcuffs only to teleport back to the castle to find Zeref.

When I do get to the castle, it was gone. I was just standing on dirt and the traces of a castle was gone, including Zeref. Where the castle used to be, is now a pit of dirt.
"Zeref?! Zeref!!!" I scream as much as I can but it's futile. No one heard me. "Please...come back...you promised to never leave me alone....ZEREF!!!" I hit the floor with whatever magic I have but it shows no sign of a invisible barrier around it.
It was official, Zeref is gone. He left me. I felt my heart break along with the trust I had for him.

I try to regain my composure and return to the guild.

As I return I see the faces of everyone more clearly. They're all showing me regret. I think of everything that's happened. Zeref betrayed and left me even though he promised he would never be like how Fairy Tail was. But that was clearly a lie as now I have no place left to go but Fairy Tail.

*BANG*

The guild doors slam open to reveal mean dressed in white and green cloaks. I recognize the two men at the front and realize they're from the magic council.
"Lucy Heartfilia, you are hereby under arrest for the murder of hundreds of people and the destruction of multiple towns. We also know about you affiliation with the dark wizard known as Zeref along with you attempt to summon Acnologia." They come up to me and slap a handcuff around my wrist, except this one was more powerful and it blocked all my magic.

"Wait! You can't just take her away from us!" I hear Natsu yell out.

"I'm afraid we can Natsu." Lahar says to Natsu.

"We don't want to do this as much as you but Lucy has been affiliated with the dark wizard Zeref and in the short span of one year she and him has already killed hundreds of innocent people. It's clear she's not the same Lucy we knew one year ago." Mest says. Everyone look at me, shocked, now that the found out what I did. I look down in shame reflecting on what I did the past year.

"Lucy, is this true?" Gray asks like he's not wanting to believe it.

".....Yes it is." I look over to Natsu. "But I'm so sorry." I start crying again. "I was so filled with hate and anger back then, that all I thought about was revenge. Because of what you guys did to me I went insane...... I am so sorry." In an instant I feel someone run up to me and hug me. Unlike Zeref's before, this one was warm.

"Luce I promise we'll get you out and we'll be here for you when you get back. You can join Fairy Tail again when you do." He looks down at me and says.

"N-Natsu.... thank you ." I let him go and look to the magic council. "Okay let's go." They nod and we start walking away but before I leave the guild doors I look back and see that everyone is holding up the Fairy Tail hand sign at me. "Goodbye Fairy Tail...." I whisper quietly, "Goodbye... Zeref..... I love you."
