Being a time traveler wasn't all sunshine and daisies. Sure you got to go to some cool places but it defiantly had it's down sides. You got to see other people's futures, not all of them good. You had decided to go back and try to save Charles from a life of paralysation. Of corse you had asked him at first he was sceptical but you had persuaded him to let you try; the first time you tried was not successful. But that didn't stop you from trying again.
The first time you had tried you had been discreet, since you weren't really there when it happened, you made sure not to be seen, but now you were going to throw that out of the window.
Once you had arrived on the beach in Cuba where it happened, you saw Erik with his arms raised turning the missals around to face the humans. You decided that an introduction was in order since some of the mutants had noticed you popping out of nowhere. So you froze time for everyone except the people on the beach.
"Hello, I think an introduction is in order." You grinned, putting your old pilots goggles from your eyes to around your neck.
Everyone stopped and turned to look at you. Erik was stood slightly away from the others. Charles stood next to Erik. In a line behind them was Angel, you had heard about her, Raven, Hank, Sean and Alex.
"Who-" Sean started but you cut him off by stepping forward.
"We haven't met yet, I'm (y/n). I'm a time traveler, a mutant like you lot." You said, they all looked at you strangely. You turned to the group of mutants that stood behind Charles and Erik. Angel was the closest one to you.
"You must be, Angel. I've heard a lot about you, not all good but there you are." You grinned, Angel smirked at your comment.
"Raven, it's lovely to see you again, sadly the next time we meet, it won't be on such friendly terms." You sighed, she glanced at Charles then back at you.
"I'm sorry, but why are you here?" Charles asked, you turned to face him, a sad sort of smile on your face.
"That will become clear in a couple of minutes." You said, turning back to look at Hank.
"Hello, Hank. Oh, before I forget, I would like to apologies in advanced for the test tubes I break when we first meet." You grinned, Hank looked at you as if you had grown a second head. If you were being honest, you loved confusing people by saying things that they didn't understand.
"Ah, Sean. Lovely to see you again, I'll be properly meeting you in about a years time." You said, Sean grinned, then you turned to Alex, you desperately wanted to kiss him, because you were going out with his future self, but you thought that it would be a little weird since he hadn't met you yet.
"Alex, you're good looking when you're hairs short, not that you're not good looking in the future." You grinned, Alex stared at you.
"As for you two." You said, turning to look at Charles and Erik. Erik was looking at you as if you were mad, Charles looking at you with interest, "Now, I'm going to unfreeze time, just-" You sighed and ran a hand through your hair.
"I'm guessing something bad's going to happen now." Sean said, everyone glanced at you, you stiffened.
"Not if I can help it." You muttered, more to yourself than anyone else.
You snapped your fingers and time unfroze. Erik turned back to his missals and continued to aim them at the Russian and American ships, Charles tried to stop him but it was no use. A loud bang could be herd, with a snap of your fingers time froze again, this time everyone with it. Sighing you walked towards Nora who had walked out of the wreckage of the jet, a gun in her hand.
Taking the gun out of her hand and placing it on the ground, then you moved the bullet to point down at the ground so that it didn't hit Erik. Unfreezing time, the bullet shot at the sand, Nora looked at her hands then to the ground, she picked up the gun and fired it again. You froze time for the third time.
"For gods sake, woman, take a hint." You muttered, placing the gun on the ground behind her, then unfroze time.
This continued for several minutes; you freezing time, moving the gun, Nora looking confused, then picking it up again and firing it. You had tried everything, moving Charles out of the way, moving Nora but nothing worked. Then you realised.
You couldn't stop this moment in time from happening, it was fixed, it had to happen. A great sadness washed over you. There was nothing you could do, you could only stand there and watch as your friend lost his legs. You could only spectate this horrible moment of injustice. A couple of tears leaked from your eyes. You brushed them away so that when you unfroze time the others wouldn't see you crying. You snapped your fingers.
Time started again. You stepped back, your arms crossed over your chest, trying to stop the tears from falling. Nora fired the gun multiple times, Charles shouting and Erik making the bullets fly in different directions.
You watched as the fated bullet struck Charles in the back, he froze then fell to the ground. Nora dropped the gun, Erik ran over to where Charles lay. You let a couple of tears fall, Raven turned to you.
"Can't you do something? Turn back time? Change it?" She asked, a mixture of shock, panic and terror on her face.
"Why do you think I came to this point in time. There are certain points in time that even I can't change, they're fixed points that must happen, nothing I can do will change that." You sighed, sadness creeping up on you. Raven started to cry and ran over to Charles. You walked over to him as well.
"I'm sorry, Charles, I tried, I really did. But I can't change what's happened to you." You said to him, Charles sadly smiled up at you.
"It's okay, I know." You whispered, tapping his temple, indicating that he had read your mind, he knew what was going to happen to him. You nodded and walked away.
As you walked you felt someone looking at you, looking up you saw that Alex was staring at you. He gave a soft, sad, smile, you returned it, "I'll see you soon." You said to him before turning away.
Rolling up the sleeve of your jacket you looked at the date and time from when you were before travelling back. Wiping your tears away you went forward to that time, but an hour on from that.

You had landed in the middle of Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, no one was around, all the students and staff were in classes. You sighed and walked towards Charles's office, you knocked before opening the door.
Charles was sat behind his desk, reading an old book, he looked up as you walked closer. He had a sad smile on his face.
"I'm sorry." You muttered, refusing to meet his gaze, you could feel Charles looking at you, surveying you.
"It's okay, I did what you said and didn't get my hopes up." He chuckled slightly, you were very confused.
"Why aren't you angry at me? I couldn't do it. I failed." You sighed, looking over at him.
"You did no such thing. It wasn't your fault. I must say that you made an awful introduction." Charles laughed, you rolled your eyes but chuckled anyway.
"I couldn't reveal too much about myself or the future, it doesn't tend to go well if I do." You replied, Charles nodded, a small smile on his face.
"Can I ask, why it didn't work?" Charles asked, an inquisitive look on his face, you shifted slightly from foot to foot.
"There are certain points in time that are fixed, fated if you will, to happen. They must happen so other things can follow, whether they are good or bad. I can't change them." You explained. Charles nodded, showing that he understood.
"You mustn't take the blame for what happened. It wasn't your fault." He spoke soothing words to you. But you did take the blame.
"Okay, I'll see you later, Charles." You said, ignoring his last statement, Charles sent you a sad smile.
"Bye, (y/n)." He sighed as you walked out of his office.
As you walked back up to your bedroom, all you could think about was how you couldn't help Charles. How you had failed him, and all the other people you had tried to save. These thoughts followed you to your bedroom. You sat down on the edge of your bed, putting your head in your hands and letting your tears properly fall. A knock sounded at your door, you didn't bother to look up as the person entered your room.
"(y/n/n)." A familiar voice sounded. Alex walked towards you and sat down next to you, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you closer to him. You didn't move your head from your hands.
"I failed him. I couldn't do anything to stop it. It's all my fault." You cried, Alex pressed a kiss to your head.
"It's not your fault. You didn't fail anyone, you can't take the blame for something that was out of your control." Alex whispered, rubbing soothing circles on your back. You let your hands drop between your knees as you stared at the wall in front of you, refusing to look at Alex.
"That's besides the point, I can never save anyone." You muttered, Alex shook his head and grabbed your hand, interlocking your fingers together.
"That's bullshit and you know it. It's bullshit because you've saved so many people. You gave the mutants who were fighting with Apocalypse a second chance, you saved Warren and Ororo, they wouldn't be with us if you hadn't gone back in time and told them they could be better and join us." Alex said, his tone set, you knew he wasn't going to give up in trying to make you agree with him.
"Every time there's a fight in a city where civilians get hurt you go back in time and evacuate everyone with out hesitation. And you're forgetting that you saved my life from that blast that blew up the mansion. You have saved so many people." He said, an exasperated tone in his voice.
Alex lifted your chin so that you were looking at him, "You are amazing, you've save hundreds of people. But you can't save everyone and that's okay. You said it yourself that sometimes you can't change time. So don't beat yourself up about it, okay?" He finished, you sighed but nodded making Alex smile.
Alex's blue eyes bore into yours before flicking down to your lips then back up to your eyes. He lean forwards slowly, nudging his nose against yours, tilting his head slightly. He closed the difference between you two and pressed his soft lips against yours. You closed your eyes, enjoying the familiar feeling of his lips gently pressing against yours.
Turning your body to face his one of your hands were placed on the side of his neck while the other had found its way into his blonde hair, gently pulling his. The kiss got a little heated as Alex gripped your waist and pulled you closer, rubbing circles on your waist. A smile tugged at the corners of your lips as you continued to kiss.
Pulling away you wrested your forehead against his, Alex still had his eyes closed, a small smile dancing across his lips, you bit yours as you pulled back slightly still running a hand through his hair.
"You know, you looked so adorable with short hair." You mused absentmindedly, playing his hair. Alex laughed, and pressed a quick kiss against your lips.
"Are you saying that I don't look adorable now?" He teased, raising an eyebrow, you grinned.
"No, you always look adorable." You smiled, Alex grinned.
Alex pulled you closer, wrapping one arm around your waist while the other traced circles on your back. He nuzzled his head into the crook of your neck, one of your arms was gripping the back of his jacket, the other was still in his hair and you rested your head on his shoulder.
"I love you." Alex muttered into the soft skin of your neck, kissing it lightly.
"I love you too." You whispered, smiling.
