"Morning, Hank! How are you?" You asked, walking into the lab.

Looking up at you, a red tint was dusted over Hanks pale checks, he stared at you for a second, seemed to realise he was staring then looked away nervously.

"H-h-hi, (y/n). I'm fine, thanks. How a-a-are you?" Hank stuttered, glimpsing over at you before dropping what he was holding, and cursing lightly.

The thing with you and Hank is that you both like each other but refuse to admit it, you because you're stubborn and Hank because he was shy. You always had a fleeting suspicion that Hank might feel the same way you did, but you didn't want to put your friendship at risk by asking; you'd only just got him to open up to you.

"Yeah, not bad, Hank. What are you working on today?" You asked as you walked over to your section of the lab, picking up a couple of things on Hanks desk to borrow.

"Oh, I'm working on something really exciting." Hank started, his blue eyes lighting up with excitement, you loved it when Hank talked about something with passion.

He then started to talk about molecules, some of the students mutations and astrophysics. You could sit and listen to Hank talk for hours, even if you didn't always understand what he was talking about. The little hand gestures he would do and how his eyebrows seemed to do some sort of dance, raising up and down, fast and slow.

"I'm still listening, Hank. I'm just going to start working." You interrupted quickly putting some tools into your blue engineering jump suit. When Hank didn't start talking again, you turned to him, "Keep talking." You encouraged.

"No, I can tell I'm boring you." He smiled slightly, fiddling with his lab coat sleeves.

"You're not, I love listening to you talk." You grinned at him, then turned to go back to your work. Hank talked for another fifteen minutes about the serum he was making and explaining how it would work.

"Anyway, enough about my work, how's the motorcycle coming along?" Hank asked, looking over at you, the tips of his ears slightly pink. The reason you where in the lab at all was because you didn't teach many classes and you where a really good engineer, so when Hank didn't need anything mechanical fixing you never really had anything to do; but luckily you had found an abandoned motorcycle on the side on the road. It was rusty and beaten up, it didn't even run and it had about one-hundred different problems but you didn't care, you where determined to fix it.

"It's good, I mean, I did only just start it. It's stupidly rusty and I will be working on it for months, so I'll be spending lots of time down here with you, if that's okay with you." You asked, straightening up and wiping engine oil on your overalls.

"O-o-of course it's okay, I-I-I'm really happy you're here to keep me c-c-company." Hank stuttered, blushing madly, refusing to look at you as you smiled softly at him. Hank walked over to a table but bumped into another one, you let out a quiet laugh.

"I'm glad, I like spending time with you, Hank." You answered, a soft red glow adorning your checks.

The rest of the day was spent talking and joking around, secret glances from each other, occasionally being caught, Hank being cute and clumsy when you caught him staring at you, not that you minded.

It was now supper time and you where starving, having missed lunch because you wanted to spend time working on the bike but, mainly, to spend time with Hank.

"Come on, Hank. It's time for supper." You stated, putting down your tools and washing your hands in the sink.

"I'm not going, I have to keep working on this." Hank muttered, his beautiful dark hair was dishevelled. His determination to continuously work always inspired you. However, you did not approve of Hank missing out on eating.

"No you're not. You, my dear, are coming to supper whether you like it or not." You chimed, grabbing Hanks, surprisingly soft, hands and pulling him out of the lab.

"Alright then." Hank laughed, his checks once again pink from the mere idea of you touching him.

~

Over the next few weeks you and Hank had gotten much closer, you were practically joined at the hip. It was rare for people to see one of you without the other. A lot of the students, and some of the teachers, had stared to think that the two of you were going out, 'finally' most of them had said.

When you weren't in the lab you were usually outside, having dragged Hank out there too, saying that he needed natural light and fresh air. So the two of you would either walk around the lake, read under on of the many trees or just sit and talk in the sun.

It was late.

Most likely all the students were asleep by now and the majority of the teachers would be following the same path. However, for Hank that was not the case. You had taken a long nap earlier that day, intending to work much later than usual. Hank on the other hand, had not taken such precautions. Instead he stood at his desk, dark circles under his gorgeous blue eyes and his head drooping slightly every now and then.

"Hank, you should really get some sleep. You know that you can't work properly when you're sleep deprived." You spoke up, after ten minutes of watching Hank struggle to keep his eyes open.

"I'm fine. Besides, I've almost perfected my-my-" Hank was cut of by a yawn, "My work." He finished rubbing his eyes.

"I love how determined you are, love-" Hank blushed madly at the nick name you gave him, "But you really need to sleep, it isn't healthy if you don't."

"Honestly, (y/n), I'll be fine." He smiled over at you, god that smile made you melt like ice cream on a warm summers day. You just sighed, knowing that you wouldn't win this.

About twenty minutes later, instead of Hanks little murmurs and the gentle chink of glass on glass, those sounds had stopped, a new one had arisen. Soft and quiet snores where coming from Hanks desk. You looked over, only to see that Hank had fallen asleep at his desk, hair messy and glasses dangling off one ear.

Laughing slightly, you used your mutation to levitate him off the ground and into the air, carful not to wake him. You walked through the mansion with Hank floating gently alongside you, until you got to his room. You laid him down in bed and pulled a blanket over him. You beamed down at him, kissing his forehead softly, you left him to sleep.

-

The next day, Hank didn't show up in the lab until midday, when he walked into the room, for once looking like he had slept.

"Morning, Hank. Or should I say good afternoon." You chuckled, glancing up at him then back down at your work.

"Afternoon, (y/n). Can I ask you something?" He asked, you could tell he was nervous by the way he was fidgeting.

"Anything." You answered, smiling as Hank slowly walked over to you.

"Last night, I fell asleep. D-d-did you take me back to my room and put m-m-me to bed?" He asked, stuttering slightly, a blush creeping onto his face.

"I did, yes." You answered simply, sending him a soft smile.

Hank lent down and placed a gentle kiss on your cheek. Now it was your turn to blush, as Hank pulled away, then widening his eyes he stammered, "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that."

"You don't have to be sorry. You can kiss me anytime you like." You grinned, pleased with your flirting skills.

"Can I kiss you now?" Hank asked, his ears and checks turning the same rosy red.

"You don't have to ask." You smiled as Hank leaned forward and softly grazed his lips over yours. You gripped his lab coat collar and pulled Hank down so that his lips smashed into your own. Hanks hands flew to your waist and pulled you closer to his body. Your hands left his collar and went up to his already messy hair. Your lips where moulded together, as Hank started to pull away you bit his lip, gentled pulling his bottom lip between your teeth.

"Does this mean you'll go out with me?" Hank asked, his face only a couple of centimeters away from your own.

"I would be stupid to refuse you." You smiled, placing your lips on his once again.
