You had been at Charles's school for a while now, almost a year. You had made some great friends with both the staff and students, however there was one person you didn't get on with, and that was Charles himself. You were sure that he was a nice guy but he was always trying to flirt with you and you were simply not interested.
You had just finished teaching your last class of the day and were packing up your things. Once you had gathered everything up you left the classroom; the hallways were rather empty, most of the students had either gone back to their dorms or down to dinner.
Readjusting your books, you walked down the corridor, heading to your room. However, what made you internally groan was a voice that rang out from behind you. You had been having a relatively peaceful day without any intrusions.
"Hello, (y/n), looking as stunning as ever." Charles grinned at you as he fell into step next to you, you however, rolled your eyes.
"Go away, Charles." You sighed, not looking over at him. You were too tired to deal with his relentless flirting.
"Am I not allowed to compliment a beautiful woman?" He asked, you could hear him smirking which only made you more irritated.
"Oh how I pray that you just jump off a bridge." You mused, you heard Charles gasp in mock hurt.
"That's not nice." He grinned, a tone of hurt in his voice again, you rolled your eyes.
"It wasn't meant to be." You muttered. Spotting the door to your room made you sigh in relief.
As you approached your door, Charles continued to walk next to you, much to your disappointment. Charles kept talking to you but you just ignored him. As you were about to push open the door to your room, Charles lent on the door frame next to you and started speaking agin.
"So, how about you and I get some supper later?" Charles asked, one of his eyebrows raised and he ran one of his hands through his brown hair, you glared at him.
"On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard do you want me to hit you?" You asked in annoyance, Charles laughed at what you said.
"Goodnight, love." He mused, a small smile on his face as he watched you walk through the door to your room. You didn't answer him but just shut the door to your room. You groaned as you dumped all your files and books onto your desk and fell onto your bed, exhausted.
Your frustration with Charles slowly seemed to seep away as your thoughts turned to your students, the events of the day, what you will need for tomorrow and what you'll teach the kids. As these thoughts ran around your head, you slowly started to fall asleep.

A couple of days had passed and nothing you said seemed to sway Charles from his advances towards you. You had tried everything to avoid seeing Charles, but everywhere you turned, he was there; outside your room, in your classroom, outside your classroom and even when you went to the most hidden spot in the library, he still found you.
Usually you could handle seeing Charles once or twice a day but this was getting too much for you, he was everywhere you went, you felt trapped and you had no peace of mind. You couldn't deny that when you first met Charles you had found him very attractive, but since he had started pestering you, your attraction had lessoned hugely.
During your lunch break you decided to walk down to the gardens in the grounds of the mansion, hoping to be left alone. As you headed towards a large oak tree right at edge of a forest, an all too familiar voice spoke out.
"Hello, my love." His voice spoke calmly, like water rippling in the wind.
"Sod off, Charles." You angrily spat, continuing to walk away from him, but he followed.
"So when are you going to give in and go on a date with me? You never know, you might actually enjoy yourself." He asked; anger bubbled inside you, causing you to spin around and shoot daggers at the tall brunette.
"Get your head out of your arse, Charles." You exclaimed, running a hand through your hair in stress.
"Come on, love. I know you want to." He mused, taking a step closer to you, you took a step back in return.
"There are approximately 1,013,913 words in the English Language, but I could never string any of them together to explain how much I want to hit you with a chair." You shot back, crossing your arms over your chest in pure anger.
"Don't be like that, love. I know what you think about me, I know you like me." He grinned, flashing his perfect white teeth at you, which just made your anger spin out of control.
"You know, you're right, Charles. I touch myself when I think about you." You answered, your voice shaking slightly with anger, Charles raised an eyebrow, "More specifically my temples, I rub my temples because I get a headache, because you're awful." You finished, taking a deep breath to attempt to calm yourself down.
"Well-" Charles started but you cut him off.
"Shut up, Charles. You are so, unbelievably, remarkably, infuriating that I can't even stand to look at you! Why do you feel the need to constantly pester me with your childish attempts to get me to like you? It's ridiculous. You don't understand just who much I dread it when you even breath the same air as me!" You shouted, letting your anger engulf you like a wave, crashing down on both you and Charles.
"You know, love, you haven't been the best of people either. I've been nothing be nice to you and you, in return, have been insulting me every step of the way, did you ever stop to think how that effected me?" Charles shot back, anger blazing in his eyes.
"How that effected you?!" You bellowed, "You've been pissing me off since the first day I met you, why can't you get it through your thick head that I don't like you, that I probably hate you." You shouted, breathing heavily, completely loosing yourself in your anger. You only sobered up when you saw the look on Charles's face.
"All I wanted was you." Charles muttered, a great sadness darkening his eyes as he looked into your own, "But if that's how you truly feel, then I'll leave you alone, you'll never have to look at me again." He spoke louder than before, his eyes hardening as he straightened up and strode away.
You sighed as you watched the back of Charles's head walk away from you and back up to the school, you slumped against the oak tree and slid to the floor, your head in your hands.
What had you done.
-
Weeks had gone by, and true to his word, you hadn't seen Charles or heard anything from him. Every time you tried to seek him out, you would loose him in a crowd of bustling students or he would ignore you. His specialty was using his mutation to make you think you couldn't see him.
When you finally cornered him, it was about midnight and he was in his office, you had walked in and he was about to put his fingers to his temple when you stopped him.
"I'm here to apologies." You spoke before Charles could touch his temple, he lowered his hand, signalling you to continue.
"Look, I'm really sorry for what I said, I didn't know you felt that way. I just thought you were playing a game or something, I said some really ignorant things and I feel terrible about them." You sighed, meeting Charles's hard gaze.
"Yes, you were ignorant, very ignorant. You were an arsehole." Charles spat, anger once again washed over you.
You had been trying to apologies to him for weeks and this is his response, you knew you had said some really bad things but this was getting stupid, you were tired of his attitude. How he managed to keep his cool when you were being rude, you'll never know; but you knew that you didn't have enough patience.
"Yes, I was an arsehole, but so were you! You were so inconsiderate of my privacy and the fact that I needed to be by myself sometimes." You shot back angrily.
Charles stood up from his chair and walked towards you, this time you didn't step away, "And you were so inconsiderate of my feelings for you, you didn't give a shit about how you made me feel with your snarky comments, so don't call me inconsiderate."
"What about how you made me feel? You with your childish pestering and boyish grins not leaving me alone, not letting me have a second of privacy." You shot back.
The tension between the two of you was too much. You had to act. Grabbing the collar of Charles's shirt you pulled his body into yours and smashed your lips against his, kissing him. Charles instantly reacted by roughly grabbing your hips and pulling your body impossibly closer to his as your lips moulded together.
Charles's hands left your waist and his hands slid down your arse, giving it a quick squeeze and then gripping your thighs and lifting you up, you wrapped your legs around his waist. You tongues battling for dominance as Charles placed you on his desk, standing in between your legs.
You pulled away, softly pulling Charles's bottom lip between your teeth as you separated. The pair of you had identical grins on your faces, both chests heaving. Charles rested his forehead against your own.
"I just wanted you to need me." He whispered, his lips brushing against yours.
"I know, and I'm sorry. I didn't realise how much I'd miss you."
"I told you you'd fall for me, love." Charles laughed, you slapped his chest but laughed yourself.
"Don't make me regret giving you a chance." You warned, but you could help but smile in complete euphoria.
"I promise you won't." Charles grinned as he pressed his lips against yours once more.
