Your alarm clock rang out through the peaceful silence waking you up. Rolling over you turned it off. Stretching you stood up and got dressed. It was about half five in the morning, so no one else was awake. Yawning you walked out of your room and headed towards the kitchen. After you had made yourself some breakfast you sat at the counter and ate.

"You're up early, which is very unlike you." Someone said, you didn't need to turn to know who it was. You could recognise that voice anywhere.

"Hello, Erik. You're up early too." You mused, continuing to eat your breakfast. You could hear Erik's footsteps coming closer to you, until he appeared in front of you, a small smile on his face.

"Why are you up so early anyway?" Erik asked, leaning back on the cabinet opposite you.

"I've got my mission today, remember?" You said, taking a sip of your coffee, Erik nodded slowly, there was something in his eyes that you couldn't quite put your finger on.

"Ah, I remember now. You aren't going with anyone are you?" He asked, due to the fact that your mouth was full of food, you shook your head, "Okay, I'll come with you then." Erik added, nodding to himself.

"Erik, I have handle myself. It's only a two day mission. It'll be easy. I'll be in and out before they notice a thing." You reassured him, Erik still had that unknown emotion in his eyes. He sighed.

"Fine, at least let me walk you out?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. You nodded. This wasn't unusually for the two of you, whenever the other had a mission the one who was staying behind would walk the other to the jet to see them off.

Once you had finished your breakfast Erik walked you to the garage where your car was waiting. Erik was telling you a story about him and Charles which was rather funny. The pair of you joked and laughed while you walked, once you got to your car you stopped and faced him.

"I'll see you soon." You grinned at him, Erik sent you a sad smile. His eyes glinting slightly in the bright lights of the garage.

"Just be safe, okay?" He asked, before pulling you into a hug, wrapping his arms around your waist while yours went around his broad shoulders.

"I'm always safe." You winked as you pulled away and got into your car. You started the engine and rolled down the window, "I'll be back before you can say the word blueberry pie." You grinned and drove off down the drive. Erik sighed sadly.

"Blueberry pie."

You had parked your car about a mile away from your destination, Strikers compound, so that you wouldn't be noticed. You used your mutation to turn yourself invisible and started to head towards the compound. Your mission was to sneak into the compound and see what information you could get on Striker.

It was easy enough to slip inside, for a top security place their defences weren't that great. You managed to get to Strikers computer and plug in your USB stick and download as many files as you could. As a kid you found it fun to hack into US data bases and get information or give them bugs. Another aspect of your mutation was that you were a brilliant hacker.

Once you had gotten all the information you needed, you took your USB stick and put in in the heal of your shoe that had a secret compartment in it so hid it, in case you got caught. As you were sneaking out you didn't know that in some areas of the base there were traps. One of which you, unknowingly, set off.

Electric currents shot up your legs and ran through your body, your mutation failed and you became visible. You screamed as the electricity washed over your body and you fell to the floor writhing on the floor in pain. You felt yourself loosing consciousness, the last thing you remember was some guards running towards you and shouting for back up before everything went black.

Your eyes opened, your head was aching really badly, you tried to pull your hands up to your head but they were bound down. You tried to get up but you couldn't. Looking down you saw that you were sitting in a chair, you arms and legs tied to the chair. Looking around you saw that you were in a cell.

The door opened to reveal Striker himself, a smug look on his face. He pulled up a chair and sat in it opposite you, his arms crossed over his chest. You groaned, you really hated this guy.

"So, you're here." He said, smugness dripping from his words.

"Well, unless I'm just a hologram and I'm actually somewhere else, then yes, I'm here." You rolled your eyes. You knew that sarcasm probably wasn't a great idea due to the position you were in, but you thought that you you just piss him off, for fun.

"How did you get in?" Striker asked, ignoring your last comment, his smugness dropping a little.

"Well you don't really have the best security in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if a kid walked though this place with out you noticing." You said in a matter of fact way, casually looking around the room. You could see Striker tense up.

"I know you're a mutant and that you work for Charles Xavier, where is he?" Striker asked, anger flickering in his eyes.

"Oh, honey. You're going to have to a lot better than that if you want to know where he is. Asking nicely just won't work, it's rather out of date if you ask me." You grinned. Striker made a noise in the back of his throat.

"Fine, if you won't talk. I'll make you." He growled a sadistic smile flickering on his face.

"Oh, I'm terrified." You rolled your eyes, Strikers smile fell. Getting up he walked out of the cell.

Hours seemed to stretch into days, you were bloody and bruised. You were pretty sure that you had a couple of broken ribs too. Every time Striker tried to break you, you would just laugh in his face, which probably wasn't a great idea but what else could you do.

You didn't know how long you have been captured for, you were badly injured. Striker had used everything he had to try and make you talk, but you remained silent. He had tried every use of torcher in the book but you still refused to talk. Luckily, you had a plan.

There were times during the night where most of the people in the building went home and there weren't many guards. You had mapped out in your head when their shifts were over and who you be watching over you. Over the last could of days you had slowly been loosening your bonds and now was the time for your escape.

You quickly untied your restraints and flipped the chair over, making a loud noise. Using your mutation you turned invisible, you hadn't told Striker what your mutation was so they had no idea. You hid behind the door.

The guard that was on duty came into your cell, he left the door open. He looked around the room for you, you punched him in the face then grabbed the chair and smacked him over the head with it, making him crumple to the ground unconscious.

Grabbing his keys and security pass you ran out of the door. You ran through corridors and up flights of stairs until you came to the room you needed to be in. The control room. You knocked out the guards that were in there and started to hack the system.

You killed their power so that the whole facility was on low power mode and all their defences were down. You estimated that you had about two minutes before Striker realised that you had broken free. You sprinted towards the exit. Each guard you met you gave them a deserving kick in the balls.

You got to the main gate, the guards in the watch towers had no clue that you were there. Climbing the fence you jumped down and ran the the direction that your car was. You didn't stop running, despite the pain you were in, until you got to your car and drove off.

After ages of driving you finally got to the mansion. You drove into the mansion's garage and parked the car. Getting out you knelt down and checked that the USB stick was still in your heal. You took off your shoe and opened the heal and saw that it was still there. Sighing with relief you took it out and put your shoe back on.

You limped out of the garage, it turns out that you hadn't realised that you had broken a couple of toes and pulled something in your leg. You headed through the silent mansion towards Charles's office. When you got to the door you knocked, opening it you saw Charles sitting at his desk. He looked up.

"(y/n)?" He asked, his face was slackened with the shock of seeing you, he stood up from his desk and walked around to help you into a chair but not before hugging you.

"Hey, Charles." You grinned, grimacing as he hugged you. You sat down in the chair opposite his desk and Charles sat at his desk.

"What happened? You've been gone for four days. We were all so worried but we thought that if we tried to rescue you then Striker would have been sure to kill you. We were about to send Raven to get you." Charles said, his eyes full of concern and worry.

It took about half an hour to tell Charles what exactly happened. Sure he could have looked into your mind but you didn't want him to. Once you had finished your story Charles lent back in his chair.

"Well, I'm sorry you had to go through all of that." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. You didn't say anything, then you remembered that you had the USB stick.

"Oh, I almost forgot." You said, digging in your pocket for the USB stick before putting it on Charles's desk. He looked from you to the stick.

"I can't believe that you managed to get this." He grinned picking up the stick, you scoffed.

"I'm not that bad at missions." You rolled your eyes but grinned none the less. Charles laughed.

"I think I'm going to go to see Hank because I have a couple of broken bones that need fixing." You smiled and stood up, heading for the door.

"Oh, and (y/n)." Charles spoke out, you turned to look at him, "I'm glad you're back." He added, a small smile pressed on his face.

"Me too." You grinned and left the office.

As you were walking towards Hank's lab you notice someone standing on the stairs, looking over you met Erik's green eyes. Neither of you spoke for a second then, Erik almost ran over to you. Before you could say anything Erik put his hands on your cheeks and pulled you into a kiss. His warm lips pressing against your chapped ones. It took you a second to comprehend that was going on but you soon kissed back. Your hand slipping into his brown hair and the other going to the base of his neck. His hands moving down to your waist and pulling you closer.

"Don't ever scare me like that again." Erik whispered, pulling away and resting his forehead against your own, you smiled slightly.

"Sorry." You muttered, Erik shook his head.

"It's not your fault. It's mine. I should have gone with you. God, I've missed you. I was so worried about you." He whispered pressing a quick and gentle kiss on your lips.

"I'm okay now, I'm here. I'm safe." You smiled at him, meeting his piercing eyes.

"I love you, don't ever leave me again." He said, you could see the fear and relief in his eyes.

"I won't. I love you too." You answered, smiling. Erik pulled you into a hug. You hugged back before wincing, "Can we go and see Hank? Cause I'm in a little pain." You grinned.

Erik smiled and nodded. Kissing you one last time before leading you to Hank's office.
