"im moving out," josh said after finishing his dinner. his father stopped his fork mid-bite, as did his mother. did they hear him right?

"what?" laura asked. she sounded hurt.

"i-im moving out," he repeated. he was gripping the edge of his seat out of uneasiness.
"i already have all my things packed. i'll be gone by tomorrow morning. i'll text you when i get to my home saf-"

josh was cut off by jordan, his youngest sibling. "but joshy! you can't go! this is your home!" jordan couldn't fully comprehend what was going on.

"im sorry, buddy. i can visit if you want me to.." josh's words got quieter as he finished his sentence.

jordan stayed quiet in his seat before scraping the legs of the chair he sat in across the floor and stormed up the stairs and into his room.

josh couldn't do anything else. his parents' expressions left him with nothing to say. so he also made his way into his room, texting his boyfriend of 18 months that he had told his parents and was done packing.

tyler started his car and drove towards joshuas house.

sweat beaded down the short boys hair. he just woke up from a terrible memory he has been wanting to forget. tears were in his eyes and his heart was beating quickly.

without thinking, he jumped out of his crib and ran downstairs to where the home phone was. he snatched it from the receiver and dialed his little brothers number.

"josh? you alright buddy?"

"nuh uh. m' really scared. tyler isn't home n' m' scared." josh managed to stutter out of his mouth.

"hey, hey, dont worry. i'll be there in about five minutes, okay? we can cuddle and colour and do whatever you want, okay?"

josh nodded, he didn't realize jordan couldn't see him actually.

"josh?" he said, concerned and worried.

"oh! mhm! thats good, pwease hurry."

"i will."

with that, jordan hung up the phone and drove to tyler and josh's house, worried about his older brother.

i had a modified lockdown today at school because someone threatened to shoot it up and my anxiety wasn't taking a break today. i really don't want to go to school tomorrow either bcos they still didn't find who the threat was.
