The truth is, she never desired this fate. Had she known the potency of her beauty, she might have chosen the path of a beauty queen, basking in the adoration of the masses. But instead, her allure became a weapon of death. Like a siren, she ensnared her prey with a mere smile or the flutter of her eyelashes. They always succumbed. Always. Men and women alike fell under the spell of her beauty. She was an angel, descending upon them in a radiant light that blinded them with its brilliance. Her fingertips, as light as a feather, traced their skin, causing them to melt under her touch.

Face of an angel, mind of a killer. That was her essence, her reality. Lure, seduce, kill. This was her mission every time they unleashed her from her cage. From the moment she was taken at fifteen, this was all she knew. It was no life for a child, but in that world, she was no longer a child, barely even human. She was a weapon. A beautiful, deadly weapon.

Once, she believed she had escaped. A naive seventeen-year-old girl, she thought she was steps ahead of them. But she was mistaken. For if they possessed an angel, what made her think they did not have a devil in disguise? He was as cold as winter, tasked with bringing her back alive. And he did.
