Turtle

Trip. Skid. Sprint. Fall. Get up. Sprint.
Turtle dashed out the archway just in time to see Moon raise her snout to the sky, raindrops battering her face and melting into her tears. He clattered down the dock toward her.
"Did you see where they went?!" Moon pointed wordlessly at the ocean, eating away at the beach and swallowing the raindrops that dared to brush it's surface. The water was a deep midnight blue, and the bottom could be hundreds of metres down or only a few centimetres. Shock struck Turtle, hard.
"You mean....?" She let out another loud sob, and he put his wings around her, watching the rolling ocean miserably. They were Seawings, for heavens sake! One might have been injured and the other mentally deteriorated, but both could float as well as sea jelly if they needed too.
The ocean roared in reply.
"Turtle!" Kinkajou sped up to him, her usually optimistic face weighed down by a thundercloud. "Good, Moon, you're here. We need to find Tamarin and Anemone. Oh, and Pike."
"Kink, they're dead." Her face crumpled. "All of them. They...they drowned." She looked at the water in horror.
"DAMN YOU, ANEMONE! YOU SWORE YOU'D STAY ALIVE!" She burst, collapsing into sobs. "You swore...you'd keep her...safe..." Turtle gathered under his cool green scales, an island in a sea of grief.
They stood like that as the rain picked up and battered their huddle, Turtle's wings protecting the fragile tears from the storm.
"I...know." Heaving, gasping, pulling herself up onto the beach was a battered dragon, her pink scales glistening with salt water, a bedraggled body behind her. "And I made good on that oath."
Anemone collapsed onto the sand, as her exhaustion rushed up to meet her.

Yes, yes, it has been less than three weeks since I last updated. But I have the whole ending planned out and I'm really excited for it, so be prepared for some feels. Amethyst being excited generally means more Murder.
I promise a bigger update soon!
