*Third Person's P.O.V*

Zeedan was in the kitchen of The Bistro, preparing the order Andy had given him moments ago, when the back door to the kitchen opened. Zeedan looked up, expecting it to be Steph returning from her break, but instead saw a young girl stood there, drenched due to the rain outside. She wore a denim jacket over an American flag hoodie, grey ripped skinny jeans and black Converse. Her wet, shoulder-length, brown hair was in her eyes but she didn't seem to care and she had an army green rucksack on her back.

"Uh, you're not allowed back here." Zeedan told the warn out teenager.

"Sorry, I-I just didn't know where else to go. It's chucking it down out there." The girl apologised. She looked exhausted.

"Don't you have anywhere to stay?" He asked. She shook her head. It was then that he noticed she was shivering, she must've been freezing considering her clothes weren't the warmest. "How come?"

"It's a long story." She stated, "I'm actually here to see someone, the only thing is, they don't know I'm here." Zeedan was about to ask who she was looking for, when Andy walked in.

"Zeedan, is that order re-" Andy stopped mid-sentence as soon as he saw the girl stood by the back door.

"Rowan?" He gaped in disbelief.

"Andy!" The girl, now named Rowan, ran over to Andy and wrapped her arms tight around his torso. 

"Ro, you're freezing." Was the first thing Andy said, immediately worried about.

"Anyone wanna tell me what's going on?" Zeedan spoke up, extremely confused.

"Zeedan, this is my little sister, Rowan." Andy informed him, before asking, "Can you do me a favour and take the order out? I need to talk to her."

"Yeah, sure." Zeedan kindly took the plate of food and left the two siblings alone.

"Rowan, what are you doing here? Do Mum and Dad know you're here?" Andy interrogated his sister. Rowan simply shook her head and it wasn't until then that he noticed the tears pooling in her eyes.

"I couldn't take it anymore, Andy." She cried softly.

"What are you talking about?" Andy's brown eyes were full of concern.

"Ever since you left... Dad's been going out every night, getting drunk and when he comes home, he's a monster. He's violent and horrible, and I just couldn't stand it any longer." She refused to let herself cry and tried to keep the tears from falling with all her might.

"Has he... Has he ever physically hurt you?" Andy asked, praying the answer would be no. He'd never forgive himself if he found out he left his little sister alone with an abuser. Rowan didn't answer the question vocally, she just slowly nodded, biting her lip hard to keep herself from crying. "What about Mum?"

"She left... She'd had enough of Dad's behaviour and walked out a couple of months ago..." Rowan explained. Her voice was shaky and it died out towards the end, the urge to cry becoming too much to handle. Andy pulled his vulnerable sister into his arms as she finally broke down.

"I'm so sorry, Ro, th-this is all my fault. I-I never should've left you with him." Andy's voice tremble as he tried hard not to lose it himself.

"Don't make me go back there, please." Rowan sobbed into his chest, breaking her brother's heart even more.

"I won't, I promise. You're staying here, you can live with me and my girlfriend, she won't mind. I won't let him hurt you again, Princess." Andy vowed to himself that he would keep that promise, no matter what.

A/N: First chapter = complete 😄 I feel like that last bit was really cheesy... But then again, a lot of my fanfictions are cheesy so oh well. Anyway, this is set before Nick and Carla's wedding. Hope you enjoy! Love you all soooo much ❤
