(Saw the new trailer and instantly fell in love with this character lol. No, I am not a simp, I just like the character.)
(Hope you enjoy.)
Being reincarnated into an avatar isn't on Bailey's bucket list as she opens her eyes to some dark void she only saw once. Back when the shadow demon promised to protect her from someone hurting her in the past.
"H-Hezzzllo?"
Bailey's voice glitched slightly, the end sounding out a bee's buzz. She screamed for a few seconds before regaining her composure. Questions wanting to be answered weren't answered anything soon.
She needed him to come back.
"Excuse me? Mr.Demon thingy? The one who caused all these murders?"
A hand slapped over her mouth. Dragging Bailey deeper in the darkness, someone threw her to the floor roughly. No hand offered to help her up.
Rude.
She humphed, arms crossing as she stood up and dusted off the dress the entity decided best suited someone her character. A bit prude, but she'd take anything over...
Over...
'I..can't express my thoughts. I don't want to talk about what happened back then.'
"Too painful?" A voice asked mockingly. "Aww, look at the soon to be busy bee. I'm assuming your Bailey? He's got plans for you. You might wanna run while you have the chance."
Bailey rolled her eyes. It wasn't the first time she'd been warned of any dangers surrounding the entity and it's minions hunting down those who stood in its way of taking over their minds.
She fell victim to its sway.
"We all have a past." Bailey closed her eyes. "I just don't like expressing mine."
The shadow being looked almost remorseful. But being made of darkness, it's master didn't wish it to express empathy.
"I'm...sorry."
"It's okay." Bailey smiled. "You never knew."
It was sorry it couldn't stop its creator from his desires of control and sway. The entity trapped its soul along with other inside this broken game.
"I pity those who are naive."
"What is my new purpose?"
"Lure someone very, very special into a place of joy and help capture their soul. They've been a thorn with their memories creeping up."
The rules of this world suggested the people who were trapped weren't allowed to happy nor remember their last lives. The entity wanted everything under its control, everything runnings its way and its way only.
"You will run a carnival."
"A carnival."
"Don't worry, boss had to explain why it seemed such a good idea." The shadow giggled. "Says there's a childish parts he wants to exploit."
"Guess it makes senses."
"Don't worry." The shadows assured. "Just obey the boss and things will be okay. We've all learned the hard way what happens if you don't."
"What happens?"
"You are erased."
***
Bailey opened her eyes from the sudden flashback her mind concocted. She must've dozed off when the friends turned up to her carnival.
None arrived at her station.
Looking at her now natural form, the bee's wings buzzed slightly the sensation of hands running through the forcefully attached limb.
How many years had it been? Ever since the entity turned her into whatever the hell this game even was titled, her form shifted and changed when the updated occurring every so often that even her eyes shifted colours every so often.
Ranging from green to blue. Waving a hand, she lit up the lights at the Ferris wheel so the place looked more lively. Bailey often wondered how she had control over the place the entity placed her in.
Is he here, yet?
Bailey rolled her eyes again. Shuffling some price counter toys, she didn't bother turning around, already knowing who stood behind her in the darkness feeding off her depression and despair in wanting to escape this hell.
"Should be here soon, master." She mumbled bitterly, placing a cat toy above the rest. "I don't exactly know when. My control only extends behind the gate. Anything after that is your domain."
A growl resonated from the beast, probably channeling his inner predator if the instinct proved in its desires to kill Bailey for indirectly insulting the vessel's worth to the devil.
"I am not weak." Her eyes widened, it spoke in Peter's voice. "Not weak. Not weak. No, no, no, no, no, NO-"
Bailey would've accused him actually fighting the entity's influence if it weren't for his eyes staying the same whenever it was in control.
A spark of fear flashed in normal green eyes. Clearly some unaddressed drama the entity probably influenced on Peter to keep his puppet under complete rule.
Protect yourself.
Bailey suppressed her own dark side. She thought Peter came from the suburbs, a place meant to be haunted by demons and ghosts of the last refusing to leave their graves.
"If you went to be useful." She chuckled a toy at the younger man, Peter now in the front seat of his mind. "Help with the damn toys, kay? This carnival isn't going to work itself, baby."
He sent her an exasperated look. Like she lost a few screws at expecting the puppet of the demon running this world to help her toys back on the shelves. Perhaps Bailey was insane. She did die and came back as an avatar. Maybe she has the right to be a clinically diagnosed psychopath.
"Your insane."
"Says the one who wants vengeance on an literal apple man."
"He happens to have a very bad past and he wants him punished." Peter's hand formed the shape of a finger gun. "Don't shoot the messenger. He's always dead in the end."
Bailey giggled, the sound muffled by her hands covering her mouth out of politeness. She shouldn't be laughing at s death joke, but in this world, this game, this joke happened to be funny.
He groaned in his hands. Eyes completely normal at the time. She relaxed a little in the knowledge he wouldn't kill her. Not today. Not now. Not at the minute or the hour.
"You going to help me or not?"
"...I hate you so damn much."
"Love you to, Puppet of my master."
She flinched at seeing his raised hand. Only for it to reached for a toy and place it on a higher shelf. Bailey didn't miss the hurt of the silent accusation caused in her actions. Nevertheless, she focused on the carnival again. It wouldn't set itself up, even if she had the power control how they environment changed in her one domain.
"How long until they arrive?" Peter asked, rushing his sentence. "Bailey, don't spite the thing. Just tell me."
His eyes switched from their usual colour to the one it wished it him to wear. She instantly knew it was taking him back under possession.
"He's gonna be here in a few hours."
Tendrils pinned Bailey's wrists to her side. It restricted the bee's woman's movements, reaching to instead grasp her neck. Lifting her in the air, she met the eyes of the angry demon taking control of her once friend's body, mind, and soul.
"You should've told him on time."
Bailey cried out in pain as the shadows stabbed puncture wounds in her neck. Why was it hurting her like this? She hadn't done anything!
"Stop...it.."
The entity released Bailey, dropping the humanoid bee on the ground, leaving her to send for herself against any impending dangers. She stood up with a cough as her throat adjusted to the aftermath of the sudden strangulation.
"What happened to us all? Why are we monsters?" She muttered softly, resentment creeping in her tone. "Now I'm a monster. I don't know my punishment, but maybe there's something worth saving in all of us."
Peter breaking out the control of the demon st least let her know there wasn't a total supernatural demon underneath the skin.
They'll be here soon.
He proved there was humanity in that monster.
