Tia Dalma

Andromeda's POV

We reached the swamp Tia Dalma lives in and all got into a long boat. Along the way Gibbs told Will why Jack was afraid of the open ocean. Honestly, he was the idiot who made a deal with Davy Jones in the first place. Soon we reach her shack and tied the boat to the dock. I got out of the boat followed by Jack.

"No worries, mates. I'll handle this. Tia Dalma and I go way back. Thick as thieves. Nigh inseparable, we were...have been ... before" Jack tells his crew.

"I'll watch your back" Gibbs tells him.

"It's my front I'm worried about" Jack states as I enter the shack.

"Andromeda Swann, Jack Sparrow I always knew the wind was going to blow you back to me one day" Tia Dalma says smiling.

"Lovely to see you again Tia" I say smiling. Tia Dalma stares past Jack and I, towards Will. A wide, lascivious grin spreads across her face and she walks over to him.

"You have a touch of destiny about you William Turner" she tells him.

"You know me?" he asks her confused.

"You want to know me" Tia tells him smiling sweetly.

"There'll be no knowing here" Jack states getting in between them.

"We came here for help" I tell Tia.

"I thought I knew you" Jack says.

"Not as well as I'd hope, come" Tia tells him and he tells us to come. "Asking for help does not sound like Jack Sparrow" she states.

"It's not so much for me, as for William, so he can earn a favor from me" Jack tells her.

"Now that sounds like Jack Sparrow" she states and turns to Will. "What service do you require?" she asks him before turning back to Jack. "You know I demand payment" she reminds him.

"We brought payment" I assure her lifting the cage with monkey Jack inside.

"Look, an undead monkey" Jack states shooting the poor monkey. Who screeches in protest.

"Stop shooting the poor monkey Sparrow" I snap as I hand the cage to Tia. She sets him free and he runs to another room. While Gibbs complained at how long it took us to catch the monkey.

"The payment if fair" Tia tells us as she sits back down and turns to Will.

"We're looking for this .. and what it goes to" Will tells her. Handing her a piece of paper.

"That compass you bartered from me can't lead you to this?" Tia asks Jack. Who says 'no' and she gives him a knowing look. "Your key goes to a chest ... and it is what lays inside the chest you seek, isn't it?" she asks him.

"What is inside the chest?" Gibbs asks her.

"Gold? Jewels? Unclaimed properties of a valuable nature?" Pintel asks.

"Nothing bad, I hope" Ragetti states.

"You know of Davy Jones?" she asks us.

"Aye, a man of the sea, a great sailor ... until he ran afoul of that which vexes all men" I state.

"What vexes all men?" Will asks me confused. Tia and I smile in amusement as the men tried to guess. It was Jack who surprisingly got it right by saying 'a woman'.

"A woman, he fell in love with her" I tell them.

"No, I heard it was the sea he fell in love with" Gibbs states and I roll my eyes.

"Same story, different versions, and all are true. It was a woman, as changing and harsh and UN-tamable as the sea. He never stopped loving her, but the pain it caused him was too much to live with ... but not enough to cause him die" Tia explains.

"Exactly what did he put into the chest?" Will asks her.

"His heart" she says placing a hand over her own.

"Literally or figuratively?" Ragetti asks her.

"He couldn't literally put his heart into a chest" Pintel states. "Could he?" he asks Tia uncertain.

"It was not worth feeling what small, fleeting joy life brings, he decided, to endure the inevitable, cruel torments ... and so he carved out his heart, locked it away in a chest, and hid the chest from the world. The key he keeps with him at all times" she explains.

"You knew this" Will says looking at Jack.

"I did not" Jack assures him. "I didn't know where the key was. But now we do, so all that is left is to slip aboard the Flying Dutchman and take the key. Then you can go back to Port Royal and save your bonnie lass" Jack states.

"Let me see your hand" Tia demands holding a hand out to Jack. Turns out he had the black spot and she gave him a jar of dirt. Saying it'd keep him safe from Davy Jones and he believed her.

"It seems we have a need to find the Flying Dutchman" Will tells Tia. She sits down grabbing her crab claws.

"A touch of destiny" she says dropping the claws.

"I know where that is Jack" Gibbs states.

"Same, I told my crew to wait there until I returned" I add. I hope they were ok and didn't get into a fight with Davy Jones. We then all leave and I chart the course before leaving it to Jack. I sat in the crows nest praying for my crews safety.
