3RD PERSONS VIEW
"AH, I MISS THE CABINS! I MISS THE BEDS!" Donghyuck screeched and turned to pull Mark. "HURRY! KICK THE DOOR DOWN AGAIN!"
Mark looked around before kicking the door open, "WELCOME NACHO AVERAGE SQUAD!" He said and marched inside with the rest of his friends trailing behind him.
Minjun sighed heavily, scurrying over to her bed before plopping herself, heaving out another sigh. Mark glanced at her worriedly, "You okay? That was a heavy sigh- sounds like you're tired or something." He pointed out, placing down the bags on the ground. He sat on top of his bed, nudging Minjun's leg with his foot.
"What?" She looks up at him and shakes her head, "Nah- I'm good."
"You sure? You were able to sleep well at their tent right? It was raining and I know you're scared of..." as Mark continued to trail on about her fear of thunderstorms, her mind drifted off to a different topic. Mark's words came off muffled; she didn't understand anything that he said as her mind recalled what she woke up to earlier.
Everyone was starting to get up and Renjun happened to be one of the first ones to wake up. He turns to his right, eyes widening for a split second before a smirk tugged up the corner of his lips. He quickly digs into his rucksack, rummaging for his portable camera, and rushes to snap a picture of his point of view.
He cooed upon the photo, looking back at it then at the two, then back at the photo once more. After a few more shots, he shook Hendery's arm in an attempt to wake him up, however, the boy only stirred in his sleep, bringing the 'pillow' he was hugging closer making Renjun squeal silently in excitement.
That 'pillow' wakes up, her eyelids fluttering open as she looked left to right, as if unfamiliar to her surroundings. She soon notices the position she was in and felt her heart start to beat a million times faster — if that was even possible. She notices Renjun and he smirked back at her before mouthing: "Wake your boyfriend up, will ya?"
"Shut up."
"Hendery can shut you up with his lips—"
"SHUT UP!" Everyone inside the cabin flinches and Mark immediately zipped his lips. Minjun realizes she had said it out loud and slapped a hand over her mouth. "Fuck- I was...sorry. That wasn't for you."
Jeno chuckled, "Daydreaming, huh?"
Mark awkwardly rubs his nape, looking away with a flustered look. "Yeah...glad to know that." He then sighs. "Minjun—"
"Mark, I'm fine, okay? No need to worry. I was just- um...thinking...I guess."
"You guess?"
"Thinking of what? Hmmm." Donghyuck grins widely, sending her a knowing look to which she cringed at.
"Fuck off, Shithyuck."
Donghyuck laughed and made his way through Jeno and Jaemin, engulfing the girl into a hug. Minjun tried to pry away but he kept his grip around her strong, burying her face into his chest. "Aw, I know you love me."
"I believe we already know the answer to that." Jaemin sniggered and shot her a smug look. Minjun glares at him but he shrugs it off, walking over to them. The light blue-haired boy wrapped an arm around Donghyuck, whispering into his ear though Minjun was still able to hear as the said boy was still hugging her. "Minshit's got a fat crush on Hender— OW!" The boy winces, bending over to rub his shin.
"Bad Minjun! You do not kick the amazing Jaemin on his shin!" He scolded, using a fake motherly tone at her to which Jisung scrunched his nose at, the distaste displayed on his face was laughable for Jeno.
"More like Mama Jaemin." Jeno snorted.
"Now I'm the bad one? That's gotta be you, bro. Don't expose me like that—"
As if on cue, someone bursts into their cabin. The boy's face perfectly described his panicked self and his wide eyes hastily scanning the room only to focus on one person. He marches toward that person, grabbing them by the arm, and began dragging them outside.
"W-Wait— why are you... why- why is everyone staring at me?"
As soon as Minjun stepped out of the cabin she was met with numerous boys, eyeing her either with judgement or pity. Amongst the crowd of teenage boys, she finds Lucas and Renjun, desperately looking for someone until they spotted her. Lucas ran over to Minjun, trying to block her path but she was persistent and pushed him away.
Minjun went through the crowd; the more she passed unfamiliar faces, the sicker she felt at how they stared at her. It brought her back to those days her old 'friends' dragged her around the school just to embarrass her. Once she reached the center of it all, a gasp emits from her lips and the horror quickly spreads throughout her face like the plague.
Whispers. She began to hear whispers from the surrounding body of teenagers. She clasps her hand over her ear, not wanting to hear them again.
In the center pasted—what seemed like posters—of crude words and insults thrown at her. Uncountable polaroid photos that displayed the same image. Everyone had their eyes on her now, just when she thought her life was getting better; someone just had to ruin it once again.
From the corner of her eye, she spots a familiar boy—with that devious smirk and cruel eyes that laughed at her silently. What did he want? What did Dowon even want?
Suddenly, a hand reached out to touch her making her flinch and recoil. She warily looks up, quite relieved to see a black-haired prince who shook his head. "Don't listen to them." He said softly before snaking his arm around her shoulder and shooting a glare to those who looked at their way.
"Y'all are smart enough to mind your own business!" Hendery yelled out. "I don't see the problem in these photos."
"Are you blind!? It's clear he's been playing with both you and that Jaemin dude! Aren't you mad?"
"I agree. I'd be totally mad."
"And for real? Look at these other rumors about—"
"Shut up!" Hendery glared at the boy. "As I said, y'all are smart enough to mind your own business. Minjun's not playing with anyone, nor is he anything of those rumors you're hearing of! Minjun's one of the nicest person I ever met in this camp and y'all believing some shit you just saw without enough information says something about yourself."
Hendery glances at his blue-haired crush, frowning when he saw her looking down as ever. He glares at them once more before dragging her away from them, leading her back to their cabins where the rest stood, concerned and annoyed with how other teenagers were acting. Some were even homophobic and protested to kick Minjun out of the camp. Xiaojun quickly shut them off, threatening to smash their heads with jars of Lao Gan Ma if they weren't going to zip their nonstop nagging mouths.
Jisung and Chenle both welcomed her into an embrace to which she melted in. The commotion wasn't big but it still struck something inside of her. She hated the way they looked at her; how they judged and began degrading her entire being just from what they saw or heard. But who was she to control them? It was how life always worked, somehow, people just can't mind their own business no matter how private it seemed. They couldn't mind spewing words out of their mouths even if it hurt someone's feelings.
Jaemin saw the look on her face and nudged Mark to do something. Mark wasn't feeling any good at what happened either, nor were the other boys as they really felt like grabbing Dowon by the collar and throw him into the lake any minute now.
Yangyang stood beside Donghyuck as they defended her with all they could. At least that was until Yangyang ran out of words and was ready to take it to the next level; by that, he meant to punch them.
Hendery ran his fingers through her hair, glancing at her sullen face. "Minjun?"
The girl scoffed and removed the younger boys' arms off her. She then turns around to glare at every single boy who eyed her disgustingly. Her eyes scanned the crowd, searching for a specific boy until there he was, watching from afar. She huffed and broke away from Hendery, sauntering over to the boy despite her friends' desperate shouts to stop her.
Jaemin sniggered, seeing his furious buddy stomp her way towards Dowon. "Now this is a sight to see. Dojerk, you better get your jaw ready— HOLY SHIT MINJUN!"
The boys ran towards the two as soon as Minjun's fist came in contact with Dowon's jaw, sending the boy stumbling back, his hand holding his jaw.
Jaemin gawked at her, "MINSHIT I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D ACTUALLY PUNCH HIM!"
"MINJUN! WHY'D YOU DO THAT?!" Renjun yelled out and Xiaojun looked at him weirdly.
"Dojerk deserved it, what the fuck do you mean Renjun!?"
Renjun hastily fished out his camera, whining once more. "DO IT AGAIN! I NEED TO GET THIS ON CAMERA!"
Minjun gritted her teeth, grabbing Dowon by his collar and yanked him close. The boy was terribly frightened; he wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from her as he expected her to cry and weep about it, but no, Minjun had enough of crying. As far as she remembered, she did nothing wrong nor did she remember treating Dowon badly.
"What the fuck did I do to you? You think it's funny to just mess around with people's lives?"
Dowon was lost for words, his mouth went dry and he tried to avoid her menacing gaze. Minjun scoffed in disbelief, tugging on his collar harshly. "I'm a nice person but you've seriously gone too far. Answer me. You fucking asshole."
"What. Did. I. Do. To. You." She stated and emphasized every single word, trying to look into his eyes as if searching for something. Possibly guilt? Remorse? Shame?
After a few more seconds of silence and Minjun pushed him back and he fell to the ground, his legs giving upon him. She crouched down to level her face with his and there, the boy gulped and slightly moved away. The anger in her tone disappeared, she whispered yet something was wrong. "I asked you what did I do to you? What did I do to everyone who looks at me like I did wrong- when I did nothing wrong."
She looks down and chuckled bitterly. "What? Can't answer? Maybe because you're doing this for fun but no, it's not fun. It's not fucking fun to trample over people's lives and ruin in!" Without any warning or whatsoever, she punches the wall hard behind him, shocking him terribly.
"What do you even see in me? A weak girl? Someone who you think would be afraid of you? Why'd you even join the summer camp? To make fun of others?" Minjun pressed her forefinger into Dowon's forehead. "Yah, if you're just here to do that then I suggest you go home. And if you don't stop, bitch I'm throwing you out myself."
She stands up, looking down at him. "I don't mind taking out the trash, at least not when it's worth to be thrown out."
