38 | BROTHER BEAR
3RD PERSONS VIEW
"Yo, y'all did make sure to leave like a some sort of reminder, right?" Mark turned towards the Shitrinity and they nodded in reply. "Okay good. Now, where the fucking hell did Jeno run off to?"
"He couldn't have gone too far, right?"
"Hopefully not." Lucas grimaced at the thought of Jeno getting lost in the woods. He wasn't going to lie, night out in the woods felt like they were in some sort of horror movie.
The group soon stood in front of split path. Jaemin slowly read the signages and hummed, "One leads us back to the camp while the others leads to the lake."
Mark hissed, "Shit- we might need to split up. It'll be faster that way."
Jaemin nodded, "Minjun you go with Mark."
"What? Why!" Donghyuck protested, "Mark's like- clumsy!"
"No I'm not." Mark derided, rolling his eyes at Donghyuck's reasoning.
"Yes you are."
"No I'm not."
"You are."
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I'm not."
"You are not."
"Yes I am- wait what!?" Mark glared at Donghyuck who stuck out his tongue at him.
Lucas clapped his hands together, gaining the two arguing boys attention quick. "Hey, let's not fight in the middle of the forest. Now, I do think it's fine for Minjun to go with Mark."
"I'm going with Mark and Min—"
"Nope. No. No way. Never." Donghyuck interjected, yanking Jaemin towards him and secured an arm around his shoulder. "Jaeshit, you're with me."
Jaemin wriggled under Donghyuck's grasp, "What? Why should I go with you!?"
"Because! We are shit-shit buddies!"
"No we are not. Minjun and I are shit-shit buddies."
Donghyuck's jaw dropped and easily feigned a hurt look. "Hey! Why am I not included?"
"Just accept it, dude." Lucas patted the top of Donghyuck's head, trying to comfort him but Donghyuck shook his hand away and crossed his arms. "Jaeshit you're really coming with me. Both of us are heading towards the main camp while you three head to the lake. We will meet up back at the group campsite after twenty or thirty minutes, if neither of us is back by then without Jeno, we're getting help from the counselors."
"Clear?"
Donghyuck deadpanned and nodded towards Jaemin who had his arm raised. "What do you want, Jaeshit?" His arm fell right back to his side, responding to the purple-haired male, "...why am I supposed to go with you again?"

"Do you think they'll be okay?" Minjun questioned Mark and Lucas as they headed down the opposite path from the two other boys.
Lucas chuckled and waved her off, "They'll be fine, simple bro-quarrel or what I like to call, brogument."
"Now, what the hell is a brogument?" Minjun muttered.
"Y'know, bro plus argument, brogument." Lucas grinned widely at them, wiggling his eyebrows at them suggestively.
Mark laughed awkwardly, "Alright, anyway, I really hope Jeno's okay... I mean, clearly he isn't but, argh! It's my fault he's mad- I didn't tell him especially when he–" the made abruptly cuts himself off, eyes almost bulging out of his sockets when he realized what he had just said.
Minjun awaited for his continuation, eyeing him with a perplexed face. "Well? When he what?"
Mark shook his head, "Nothing! I mean't when he's- you know what? Don't mind it."
Lucas looked around, examining each and every tree, "D'you guys think there are wild animals here? Like, snakes?"
"Uhh I don't know 'bout snakes- maybe? I saw a few birds nest, I think. Um, probably bugs?"
"Ew bugs." Lucas cringed, "I dislike bugs."
"Same." Minjun shortly agreed. "Some of them are really fucking gross to look at- gives me chills sometimes."
Lucas then gasped, "Omg, do you think..."
"What?"
"WHAT IF BELLA'S HERE!?"
"Uhh Lucas no—"
"WE HAVE TO FIND HER!!"
"But Jeno-"
"BELLA I'M COMING FOR YOU!" Lucas yelled out loud, startling a few birds that now flew above their nests. Lucas grabbed Mark and Minjun's wrist with his large hand, dragging both of them with him which was ridiculous since he basically looked like he was dragging two of his little brothers with him.
Mark stooped down when Lucas finally released them. He gawked upon the bushes until a little fellow appeared right in front of him. A huge grin made its way to his lips as he began dancing in front of the now confused squirrel. "Yo, check this out! There's a squirrel! Oh- and a bear... WAIT A BEAR?!" He shrieked, stumbling back and falling, slowly backing away as the large figure began walking close.
His eyes widened in horror and he immediately sprung to his feet, running towards Lucas and Minjun before dragging them with him; The three of them ran as fast as they could with Lucas and Minjun having completely no idea why they were running in the first place.
"Mark!"
"What?!"
"Why the fuck are we running?!"
"Bear! A bear! There's a fucking bear Minjun!"
Lucas gasped, "Seriously?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
"OMG WE SHOULD GO BACK AND BEFRIEND IT!" Lucas suggested and stopped running, almost breaking away from the two if it weren't for his strength that held them back. "WHAT IF WE BECOME BEST FRIENDS OR LIKE BROTHERS- LIKE BROTHER BEARS!"
"ARE YOU INSANE? THAT WAS A BEAR LUCAS, A BEAR!"
"Yeah, so?" Lucas raised a brow at Mark, unfazed and calm.
Minjun facepalmed, "I don't think there even was a bear."
Mark frowned, "I swear! There was a bear."
Lucas sighed, looking disappointed when there was no bear tailing on them. "Dude, I see no bear."
"What... it didn't follow me?" Mark murmured and Lucas stifled a laugh. "Why would he follow you? Are you a celebrity or something? Dude, maybe he didn't like the smell of your flesh. He was like, nah he probably taste plain."
"PLAIN?! I DO NOT TASTE PLAIN."
Minjun squinted her eyes at the boy, "How would you know what you taste like?"
Lucas shrugged, "Just saying Mark. Just saying." He then turns to Minjun, whispering softly into her ear, "Yo what if Mark's actually a cat boy, like in the anime Whisker Away?"
"Omg, imagine, Markcat." Minjun added and Lucas hollered, "Ayyyeee!! Okay, we now have a plan after this camp, you and me go watch anime."
"Sounds like a plan!"
"Am I not included?" Mark cleared his throat and the two glanced back at him, then at each other, then back at him.
"Depends." They both responded making his jaw drop.
Minjun looked down on her watch, "Shit, twenty minutes already passed! We have to start and look for Jeno, we keep getting sidetracked." She then looks up, finding neither of the boys near her. Heart beat quickening, her eyes hastily scanned the darkness, hoping to find them but alas, no one was around.
"Well fuck..."

"Are we forgetting something?" Mark questioned Lucas as they continued to walk.
Lucas furrowed his eyebrows and began looking around, "Uhh... your pet squirrel?"
"I have a pet squirrel? Wait- NO I DON'T HAVE A PET SQUIRREL!!" He glances behind him and gasped, "FUCK WE LOST MINJUN!"
"You lost who?" Mark spun around to find Donghyuck and Jaemin.
Jaemin exhaled sharply, "Mark, you lost who?" He emphasized, eyes particularly searching for a specific blue haired but she was no where to be seen. "Fuck, you lost Minjun?!"
"Well, we thought she was walking behind us... omg... WHAT IF SHE GOT ABDUCTED BY THE BEAR!?" Lucas panicked, constantly tugging on Mark's jacket.
"There's a bear?" Donghyuck looked at them in shock, "Dude, since when was a bear- THERE ARE BEARS NOW?"
"THE BEAR AIN'T IMPORTANT! WE HAVE TO FIND MINJUN AND JENO!"
"AND BELLA!" Lucas added with a big smile.
"Um, okay, AND BELLA!" Mark also added despite not knowing who Bella is.
Jaemin hissed, "Let's just hurry up and find them, who knows what happened to them by now."
Meanwhile, Minjun continued to walk down the path to the lake, hoping that at the end of the trail will be Jeno. Her lips were pursed together, hands tucked into her pockets to keep her warm from the cold night. Despite the obvious fact that it was summer, there were times wherein it would rain and cause the cold atmosphere, these were one of those times.
Minjun kept herself entertained by thinking of fun scenarios in her mind, the thought of something scaring her in the middle of the forest didn't bother her, thanks to her coping strategy. The last thing she wanted today was scaring the shit out of herself from imagining scary things that weren't even real.
A few minutes had gone by and finally, Minjun had arrived at the lake. The water was sparkling under the moonlit sky, the faint gushing of little waves; splashing around created the tranquil atmosphere; it was almost idyllic towards Minjun's eyes.
Scanning the bourn, she noticed a figure standing by the ambits of the lake. Her eyes lit up when she recognized that it was Jeno, her heart thumping as she sauntered over to where he sat. He seemed to be rambling, word by word was said with such intonation that Minjun almost feared to talk to him. Nonetheless, she continued to walk and when she reached him, the boy stopped talking. He noticed her presence right away.
"You didn't have to look for me. I just... needed some alone time, really." Jeno chuckled lowly, resting his chin on the palm of his hand, staring far into the moon's reflection in the body of water.
"No, we had to find you. Look, Jeno—"
"It's okay, Minjun. I acted on an instinct, I was mad and I felt betrayed that no one dared to tell me. Don't you know how stupid I felt? How embarrassing it was?" Jeno sighed, running his fingers through his hair before standing up to face her. "I even- I even..."
"Even what...?" Minjun asked softly and he huffed, staring into her eyes.
"I- uhh... I really thought you were a boy and that," he pauses, gritting his teeth, "and that I was, well, gay for liking you."
"I mean, thinking about it, I don't really mind if you were actually a boy... I don't mind at all." A smile crept up his face and he stepped close to her, "I like you, I really do. I know you don't like me back, I just, I wanted to say it. I don't intend to make you comfortable, let's stay friends, but if you- if there is a chance... I'll be waiting, I guess." He said and rubbed the nape of his neck.
Minjun was quite lost for words. It's been so long since she had someone liking her, the fact that the last one was Seoyeon (who turned out to be fake) it just scared her that they weren't telling the truth. She smiles back at Jeno and nodded, "I'm really sorry–"
"Don't be. It's okay, I understand. We can still be friends, right?"
"Of course, Jeno. I'll gladly be friends with you."
Jeno nodded and sighed in content, "That's all I need."
As Minjun glanced to the right, she noticed a dark figure move from the trees. Her eyes widened and she looked away, shaking her head. "Fuck- what the fuck was that?"
Jeno furrowed his brows, "What do you mean?"
Minjun gulped and avoided looking back, "I don't know if my mind and eyes are playing with me but I saw something move behind the trees..."
"What-" Jeno turned to look around only to notice it too and he instantly averted his gaze, stepping near Minjun. "Fuck, who is that?!"
"I don't know!" The girl panicked, taking deep breaths to calm herself before rounding up her courage to walk towards the tree.
"You know, that's how idiotic people die in horror movies!"
Minjun shot him a glare, "Shut up, Jenshit!"
"I'm just saying!" Jeno cackled though he was beyond frightened on what they saw.
As Minjun approached the tree, she spoke in a soft voice, "Hello? Anyone... there?" Peeking into the darkness a face suddenly popped out making her scream and fall backwards, Jeno ran towards her to check it out and also screamed.
"Woah woah, why are y'all screaming?!"
"BEAR- A FUCKING BEAR! THE BEAR TALKS. MINJUN THE BEAR FUCKING TALKS!" Jeno yelled out and roughly shook her arm. Minjun shook her head, "NO SHIT IT DOES."
"Wait- NO I'M NOT A BEAR!! IT'S A COSTUME!" A deep voice said and the bear's head detached from its body making the two teenagers gasp. Johnny eyed them weirdly, "Okay, see? Not a real bear. There aren't bears here!"
"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DRESSED AS A BEAR?"
Johnny scoffed, "Why not? Besides, this is how we monitor y'all, to check if everyone's okay." He assured, waving his hand.
Jeno choked on his own saliva, muttering incoherent words under his breath whilst Minjun shook her head. "What? No! Why would we."
"Hmm okay, anyway, it's like nearly midnight! What are you two doing out here?"
"It was my fault. I lashed out on them and they had to find me." Jeno mumbled, lowering his head out of embarrassment and Johnny patted his head.
"Well, you have good friends Jeno. They could've just let you be but they decided to follow you and look for you." Johnny told him with a smile. He turned to Minjun, "And you? Mark contacted me about... girl problems. You gonna be fine or?"
"I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, it's nothing to worry about."
"Alright then, you two better head back to the camp or your friends will get worried. I'll see you two again, adios!" Johnny winked at them, sprinting off after reattaching his bear head costume.
Jeno nudged Minjun, "Shall we head back?"
"We should."
