36 | PERIOD CRAMPS

3RD PERSONS VIEW

"So..." Minjun started awkwardly, lips pursed together as she brought her legs closer to her body; an uncomfortable feeling rising in her but she chose to shrug it off.

Jaemin kept silent, eyes scouring over the entirety of Renjun, Hendery, and Lucas' tent. It wasn't messy but it wasn't neat either.

The girl sighed for the umpteenth time since they got thrown into the tent together. The tension was unbearable and the fact that Jaemin seemed to have no intention of responding to her numerous attempts to start a conversation, it became really awkward for both of them.

Minjun had no idea what to do now, with Jaemin ignoring her and the cramped feeling growing around her abdomen. Deciding to let go of the hopes of Jaemin talking to her, she hugged her knees, trying to shrug away the sharp stab-like sensation.

I fucking hate periods. Was all she could repeat in her mind. There were times that cramps weren't much of a problem, until now. Minjun couldn't take it any longer and laid flat on her back, curling up closely as her arm laced around her waist. Eyelids dipped closed as if it would take the pain away.

Confused, Jaemin's gaze trailed onto her curled up figure, unsure of what she was doing. Debating whether to ask her or not, he decided to disregard their little quarrel and reached out to gently tap her shoulder. She hummed profusely, eyebrows drawing down in bewilderment, "Hmm?"

"I- I, um, are you okay?" His question almost came out like a whisper, despite that, Minjun could heard a little tinge of concern hinting in his tone.

A laugh escaped her lips, imbued with and mordancy. "Yeah- totally okay. Like a hundred percent okay. It's not like I'm bleeding right now or anything which is totally fine, it doesn't hurt at all! Just like a little stabby stabby on your abdomen. You know that wonderful feeling most girls get every single month? Yeah- I'm obviously okay with it. Obviously." Minjun blabbered, rolling her eyes followed by a soft groan.

Jaemin was taken aback by her sudden rambling, eyes widening a bit, not expecting her to burst like that. Seeing the troubled look she had cast on her face. "I- I'm so sorry..."

"Why are you sorry?" Minjun chuckled, sitting back up straight. "It's not like you caused this."

"Well, it's just, I'm sorry for being a complete shit okay? We're supposed to be... um... shit-shit buddies and I just got carried away..."

"Carried away?" Minjun eyed him, an eyebrow cocked up as a mischievous grin fell on her lips. "Carried away by what?"

Jaemin scoffed, "Not telling you."

Her grin fell off immediately, a playful pout making its way up. "Jaeshit indeed."

"So, um, you're on your... period." He mumbled, bringing it up.

"Yeah and cramps are annoying, ya know?" She whined, laying back and curling up again.

Meanwhile, outside the tent, the rest of the boys were eyeing each other as silence filled the air. They have been contemplating and debating whether they would make up or fight again. Unknown to them that the two were already talking inside but in a softer tone, at least that's when Jaemin spoke up loudly, breaking them away from their train of thoughts.

"I can make you feel better."

His sentence made all of the boys tense up, suddenly curious about what he meant by that. Donghyuck kicked Mark's leg causing the older to yelp out in pain, throwing a glare towards the purple-haired's direction. "What the hell was that for!?"

Donghyuck gave him a wide-eye before nodding towards the tent. "Dude! I thought you said to keep it PG!"

Renjun laughed awkwardly, "Okay, calm down, they won't do that. Well- I um..." he nervously gazes back at the tent to see that they have opened the lamplight, allowing the others to see the shadow of them inside.

"See! Perfectly fin—"

"God, Jaemin, it hurts."

Numerous eyes went wide and a few looks were shared. Instinctively, Hendery stood up but was tugged down by Xiaojun. "Hey—"

"Does it hurt that bad? Do you want me to move or–"
"No, just stay there. Can't believe I'm doing this with you right now."
"How does that feel? Better?"
"Definitely better."
"Does that feel good? I'm not really good at this."
"Mhm, it feels better."

The boys lost it when they heard a soft groan coming from the tent and they rushed to open the tent's vestibule. "NA FUCKING JAEMIN WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE—" Mark's voice died down when they realized what was actually happening.

"...Minjun-Hyung...?" Jisung mumbled as he peeked over from Yangyang's shoulder.

"Oh, is our seven minutes is up?" Minjun reopened her eyes, looking back at the boys who genuinely looked confused.

Jaemin eyed them weirdly, "Y'all are weird, really weird."

"WHAT WERE YOU TWO DOING!?" Yangyang exclaimed, gesturing towards the two of them.

"Huh? Jaemin was giving me a massage..." She trailed off before realizing what they were on about. A gasp escaped her lips as a blush widely spread across her cheeks, "NO WE WEREN'T- WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT!?"

"THE WAY YOU TALKED SOUNDED SO DIRTY WHAT THE HELL?" Donghyuck exclaimed as they all went back outside and he helped Minjun up.

"Massage? What did you need massaging for?" Jeno questioned, feeling mixed emotions about the whole misunderstanding.

"Period cramps." Everyone answered and he let out a laugh, causing everyone to look at him.

"P-Period cramps? Hahaha, that's hilarious! Nice joke- but you know, let's not joke about women like that." Jeno sniggered, shaking his head but when he noticed their serious expressions, he stopped laughing. Lips formed a thin line as he turned to Minjun who fiddled with the hem of her jacket. Hesitantly, he asked, "Y-You're... you-" he paused, taking a deep breath, "You're a girl?"

"Uh... surprise?" She awkwardly said, rubbing the nape of her neck slowly.

Jeno facepalmed, a groan to escape his lips as he ruffled his hair. "YOU'RE A GIRL!? ALL THIS TIME?"

Chenle flinched at his sudden outburst, "Yo, chill–"

Jeno turned to Mark with a hint of betrayal in his eyes, "And you knew? Wait no- everyone in this group knew!?"

"Sorta..." Mark murmured, feeling guilty for not informing Jeno.

"Wow. I've never felt so embarrassed in my whole life." Jeno muttered before walking off, "Thanks a lot, Mark. You knew I- you knew that I—" not bring able to complete his sentence, he waved it off and turned on his heel. "Nevermind." He spat and walked off to who knows where ignoring the shouts and protests of his friends.

"Wait, so it wasn't a joke?" Jisung asked, looking over at Xiaojun who deadpanned.

"No, you thought we were joking when we said Minjun's a girl?!"

"Oh... reolli? I thought that was a joke..." Jisung gasped and cupped his now pink cheeks out of embarrassment. "I THOUGHT THE PERIOD THING WAS A PRANK!"

Jaemin sighed and gently nudged Minjun, "Go after him."

"What?" She glanced back at him and he just shrugged.

"I said to go after him. He must've felt really stupid- he really thought you were a boy."

Mark let out a deep sigh, messing up his hair with his hand, fingers entangled in the soft curls of his hair. "This is all my fault- if I had just told him..."

Minjun rubbed Mark's back in assuring, "Hey, it's not anyone's fault okay?"

"I need to go after him," Mark stated, heading towards their tent to grab a flashlight.

"I'm coming with you," Minjun informed, heading to their shared tent but was stopped by Lucas.

"Min, the forest is dangerous, and it's getting really dark soon."

Xiaojun nodded, "Leave it to us to find him."

"No, I have to talk to him too. I knew and I didn't bother telling him... please? I need to." Minjun sighed, a scowl on her face.

"Hey, let's not frown. Keep your head up and smile, we'll find him, okay?" Hendery told her softly, a smile on his face to reassure her that everything will be okay.

"Are we all going?" Yangyang questioned.

"No, the rest should stay back and watch over the campsite. By rest I mean Chenle and Jisung mostly. Who's going to look after the infants?" Donghyuck shook his head, gesturing over to the two youngest who glared at him while he only stuck his tongue out childishly.

Chenle huffed, "We're not infants!"

Jisung agreed, "We're fifteen!"

"Look like babies to me." Donghyuck shrugged his shoulders before pointing over at Renjun. "You."

"Me?"

"Yeah," Donghyuck nodded, "You. You watch over them with Xiaojun."

"Me?! Why me again!" Xiaojun protested.

"Do it and I'll buy you ten jars of Lao Gan Ma."

Xiaojun's eyes sparkled, "Deal!"

"Idiot." Yangyang deadpanned causing the older to sent a glare towards his direction.

"Are you coming with us?" Minjun glanced back at Hendery who shook his head.

"As much as I want to look after you, I don't trust the forest. There might be frogs lurking around and I might just faint at the sight of them." Hendery said sheepishly before ruffling her hair, "Stay safe though, I'll be waiting when y'all come back."

Minjun nodded at him with a smile. "Okay, take care of them."

"You too." He mumbled and walked away towards the tents.

"I'm staying too," Yangyang said, raising his hand. "I'm quite tired, I hope you find him though and return safely."

"Wow, you're coming with us?" Minjun commented after seeing Jaemin walk up to the group.

Jaemin rolled his eyes, "Hendery wanted me to... um... look after you so, here I am." He murmured lowly, enough for Minjun to hear and she chuckled. "Cute."

"Be safe, please! Especially you, Minjun-Hyung."

"You can drop the 'Hyung' part now when we're all together, Jisung."

"Right! Sorry, out of habit." Jisung apologized and smiled cutely at them. "See you, stay safe please."

"Alright," Lucas began, "MISSION FIND LEE JENSHIT
